Meet Echo! This little old lady still has plenty of life in her. Echo is a sweet Plott Hound mix with an estimated birthday of 12/01/2016, weighing in around 44lbs. Although Echo is sliding into her senior years, don't let her silver snout fool you. Echo is still a puppy at heart and is looking for a family that can help her stay young! Echo is honestly the best of both worlds, she appreciated a good nap in the sunshine or a relaxing stretch across a cushy bed, but you best believe this girl will go to town playing with a stuffy or a squeaky toy! Echo is a social gal, everyone she meets is her new friend. She would be a perfect fit for a daily walk around the block! She also has a great time in the company of other dogs, she's spent a lot of time being the social queen of our doggy freeroam room! Of course, if you already have any other dogs, a meet and greet is required. Echo also loves kids, but her hound instincts kick in like nobody's business when she's around cats, so a home without is a must.  Echo is fully vetted, microchipped, and spayed. Waylon is an absolute DREAM of a dog, really just the perfect boy! He does great with kids, does amazing in a home, is housebroken, crate trained, does great in a car, LOVES to be active and play and go on both runs and walks with his fosters, is super smart so easy to train, loves to snuggle and will calmly hang out with you while you work or watch TV, and is just the best boy! He seems really eager to be around other dogs so we don't see why he couldn't have dog buddies to play with! He is 100% joy and will be excited to see you every time you come home...and his fosters are working on trying to temper that pure joy that causes him to jump in happiness, but it always comes from a place of love and light! The struggles that Waylon has are purely medical but we have come to a plateau where with a great regimen of his medications, his diagnosis of Perennial Fistula Disease is easy to manage. And the nice thing is he takes his medications great! He does have to have an ointment on his rear, and does take some other oral meds, but he takes them very well. His condition also does require him to be on a very regimented diet that cannot be strayed from but Bonaparte's Retreat is more than happy to continue paying for his meds and his food because we definitely don't want that to be a deterrent for this perfect boy to find a home. He does require someone who can monitor his poops because they do need to be monitored, but he poops great on a walk which makes it easy to monitor! He also does need to be with a family that can strictly monitor his diet and not allow him to counter surf but he eats his special food great! We really can't speak more highly about Waylon and he would make some active family or single person an amazing BFFAugust 27, 2024, 11:44 am

Meet Birdy! If you're missing a cuddly companion to give you all of their love, look no further than Miss Birdy. Birdy came to us as a stray who was sadly never claimed, but that never bothered her any. Birdy is a gorgeous black and tan hound mix, we suspect the other part of her is blue heeler. We estimate her birthday to be 08/01/2021, so she is still young and eager to learn! Birdy seemed to have learned little to no manners or commands before coming to us, but she has since begun working on learning things such as "sit", her name, and walking better on a leash. This joyful girl is as sweet as sugar, too, and is so ready to have a family of her own to smother with snuggles and kisses. Birdy gives some of the best hugs around, and gets so excited to greet the friends she's made here. Being still under a year old, she also is very eager to have playmates and is so enthusiastic to do whatever her buddies want to. She loves to use her hound dog nose to chase scents in our play yard, and would likely love a large fenced yard to explore as she pleases. We always require a meet and greet if you have other dogs, but Birdy does fantastic with them and would make a great little sister to your existing pets. She also does well with children, and would do great with cats too.  Birdy is fully vetted and microchipped, but not yet spayed, with an adoption fee of $175 + a refundable $75 spay deposit.  Interested in our girl?
