With her big eyes and exaggerated features, she’s been lovingly compared to Dobby the house-elf, and once you see her, you’ll understand why. She’s truly one-of-a-kind in both looks and personality.   String Bean starts her day around 8:00 am with a trip to the yard for a bathroom break (though she will occasionally surprise you with a very early 5:00 am outing if needed). After a few treats, she usually heads straight back to bed to catch up on her beauty sleep. Around 11:30 am, the unmistakable sound of kibble pouring into a bowl brings her instantly to life. She is extremely food motivated and will sprint to her bowl to enthusiastically devour her meal. About 15 minutes later, she enjoys a short neighborhood walk before returning home to what she does best: napping.   Her afternoons are a relaxed mix of lounging, light play, and the occasional playful wrestling match with her foster dog brother, Archie. Around 4:00 pm she heads back out for another bathroom break, sometimes opting for a quick walk if she’s feeling particular about the yard. The evening brings more naps, toy time, and playful bursts of energy, followed by dinner at 7:30 pm and another potty break. By 9:00 pm she’s winding down, and after one last bathroom trip around 11:30 pm, she happily settles into one of her dog beds for the night.   From the moment she arrived, String Bean adjusted easily to home life. She was introduced to Archie outside and quickly bonded with him, to the point that she initially didn’t want to walk without him. While she played and explored right away, it took about a week for her full personality to shine through. That’s when she became more vocal, confident, and energetic during playtime.   String Bean is a world-class cuddler. She loves curling up in your lap and can happily stay there for hours, soaking up warmth and affection. She enjoys being near her people and prefers to relax in the same room, but she’s also perfectly content staying put if she’s already found a cozy spot to nap. She’s affectionate without being clingy and has a very easygoing presence in the home.   Her personality is gentle and sweet. She is not aggressive and does not bark excessively. She’s a little uncoordinated and cautious around heights, which only adds to her charm. She is highly food motivated, making training easier, and she has been working on basic commands like “sit” and “stay” (still a work in progress). She is also notably not a licker, which is a big plus for anyone who prefers minimal dog slobber.   String Bean enjoys playtime in short bursts. She loves chasing balls (though retrieving and releasing are still theoretical concepts to her), tug-of-war, and trying to catch toys or even a towel dragged across the floor. She can now play for 30 minutes or more before wearing herself out. She’s more of a couch potato overall, but her athletic build means she can move effortlessly when she wants to. She’s great on short walks and could likely handle longer walks or even jogging, especially in warmer weather. Cold weather is not her favorite, and she does tend to shiver, even with a coat on... so if you're looking for a dog you can dress up, she's your gal!   On leash, String Bean is a dream. She walks politely, stays attentive to her handler, doesn’t pull, and has never tried to chase squirrels or bark at other dogs. Occasionally she will freeze mid-walk to observe something interesting (often children at the playground), but a gentle leash cue gets her moving again. She watches calmly with curiosity, showing no fear or reactivity.   She does very well with other dogs. She adores Archie, follows him around, and whines when they’re separated. She has also peacefully coexisted with another visiting dog. She has shown no reaction to cats seen from a distance and has been calm and unfazed around both adults and children, even at a busy holiday gathering.   String Bean is mostly housetrained, with a few early accidents that are typical in a new environment. She is comfortable being gated in a hallway area at night or when her people are away. She does not use potty pads and currently does not have access to a doggy door.   Overall, String Bean is a low-maintenance, affectionate little cartoon character come to life. She’s perfect for someone looking for a gentle companion who enjoys cuddling, lounging, and the occasional burst of playful energy. With her hilarious looks, sweet temperament, and easygoing nature, String Bean has a way of quietly stealing hearts — and then promptly falling asleep in your lap.December 31, 2025, 11:31 am

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $700 Meet Ruby, a 10–12 month old Italian Greyhound mix weighing about 16 lbs, with a heart full of love and a personality that shines brighter every day.   Ruby starts her mornings around 7:30 am with a potty break, then happily crawls back into bed to snooze a bit longer. Around 9:15 am she’s ready for breakfast, which is currently her favorite combination of rice and chicken with a sprinkle of kibble on top. She’s not a fan of plain kibble just yet, but she’s making progress and learning new things all the time. After breakfast, Ruby heads out for a 15–20 minute walk around 10 am, followed by another similar walk in the afternoon around 4 pm. Dinner is usually served between 6 and 6:30 pm, and by 10:30 pm she’s ready for bed, sleeping quietly through the night in her crate in her foster mom’s bedroom.   During the day, Ruby is a classic little shadow. She follows her foster mom from room to room, curls up on the couch, or naps peacefully in her pen. In the evenings, she loves to snuggle up with the family during TV time, soaking in all the affection she can get.   When Ruby first arrived, she was very skittish and would often flinch when approached. With a little patience, gentle handling, and a few treats, she quickly realized she was safe. Now, she has completely blossomed into an affectionate, kiss-giving cuddle bug. Ruby is very much a velcro dog who wants to be near her people at all times, even following her foster mom into the bathroom. She loves to run, play, and race around the house, and her joyful energy is contagious.   Ruby lives with a small, older dog and has learned to respect her boundaries. While she initially wanted to play, she now understands that her canine housemate prefers a calmer lifestyle. They coexist nicely and even share the couch. Ruby is also curious about the household cat and has been friendly and mostly respectful of the cat’s space.   Ruby is a great mix of couch potato and playful puppy. She enjoys chasing tennis balls, even though she hasn’t quite figured out the “bring it back” part yet. She loves zooming around the backyard, being chased, and showing off her athletic side. On leash, Ruby has come a long way. She didn’t know how to walk on a leash at first, but she learned quickly and now walks nicely without much pulling, unless something exciting like a squirrel catches her eye. She doesn’t bark at other dogs and is curious and friendly while out on walks. Short walks suit her well, but she would likely enjoy longer walks and even runs as she continues to build confidence.   Ruby is crate trained and sleeps quietly through the night. She isn’t 100% potty trained yet, but as long as she’s taken out every 4–5 hours, she does very well. She’s generally a quiet dog, only barking briefly if the doorbell rings or if someone new surprises her.   What sets Ruby apart is her incredible affection, friendliness, curiosity, and athleticism. She learns quickly and bonds deeply. One of her foster’s favorite things about her is how excited she gets when called for cuddles, pets, or walks. She wags her tail so hard that her whole body waddles toward you. And when she wants attention, she’ll gently nudge her head under your hand as a not-so-subtle reminder that it’s time for more pets. Ruby is a loving, joyful companion who is ready to give her whole heart to a family of her own.December 29, 2025, 4:39 pm

Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $650   Meet the Charlie Brown puppies: Linus, Lucy, and Peanut — a trio of tiny Chugs who may be small in size, but are already big on personality. Rescued from the shelter at just six weeks old, these little peanuts have now reached 8 weeks of age and are in the 4–6 lb range. Much like their Peanuts namesakes, they each bring something very different (and very entertaining) to the table.       Daily routine (because even puppies appreciate a good schedule):       The day starts bright and early between 6–7am with everyone heading outside for potty time. Once business is handled, the puppies usually romp around together before heading back inside for breakfast at 7am. After that, it’s a classic puppy cycle of nap, play, potty, repeat. They eat lunch at 12pm and dinner at 6pm, with frequent outdoor potty breaks and playtime sprinkled throughout the day. In the evening, all the pups pile onto the couch for movie-time cuddles before heading back into their x-pen for bedtime at 9pm. While the family is at work or school, they stay safely in their pen and are taken out regularly for play and potty breaks.       From scared shelter pups to confident little characters:       When they first arrived, the puppies were understandably overwhelmed. The first few nights included some middle-of-the-night crying as they adjusted to a new environment. After a few days of decompressing, and especially after their first week, their true personalities began to shine. Now they are confident, playful, affectionate puppies who clearly feel safe and loved.       Meet the cast:       Linus is the perfect balance of calm and playful. He enjoys wrestling with his sisters just as much as he enjoys settling down. He is a great communicator and will always let you know when he's ready for some snuggle time.       Lucy lives up to her name as the outspoken one. She is spirited, brave, and loves playtime. Lucy is always ready for adventures, exploring new things, and making new friends.       Peanut is the quiet observer and resident cuddle expert. She is happiest curled up in a lap or nestled into a pile of blankets. She’s calm and gentle, until her siblings push their luck— then she’ll remind them she can hold her own.       Social skills:   These puppies live with two resident dogs (one tiny, one about 20 lbs) and generally do very well with them. They especially love playing and wrestling with the smaller dog. They also live with two boys, ages 11 and 13, and get very excited to see them— expect enthusiastic face-licking. Like most puppies, they do enjoy chewing on hands and fingers, but they redirect well to bully sticks and toys.       Energy level:   Linus and Lucy are the more energetic duo who love to play and wrestle, while Peanut is more of a couch-loving lounger who prefers cuddling, especially with kids.       Potty training and habits:   They are familiar with potty pads and a doggy door. In their pen, they consistently potty only on the pads and never on blankets or bedding. Outdoor potty training is underway and improving, though weather has made consistency a bit challenging. They usually potty quickly when taken to grass or turf.       Ideal home:   A home with kids and/or other dogs would be a dream for these puppies. They thrive on interaction, play, and companionship, and would love a yard where they can zoom, wrestle, and explore.       Why they’re special:   These puppies are affectionate, playful, and easy to care for—just good, loving pups who want to be part of a family. One of the foster’s favorite moments is watching them wind down and fall asleep in a tangled pile of tiny bodies, which feels very on-brand for a Peanuts bedtime scene.       Whether you’re looking for a Lucy who keeps life lively, a Linus who brings balance, or a Peanut who excels at cuddling, this trio is ready to bring a little comic-strip joy into your home.January 5, 2026, 4:44 pm
