Story
Meet Dakota — a handsome 3-year-old Deer Head Chihuahua with soulful eyes and an 8-pound frame that holds a world of emotion. Just three months ago, his life was turned upside down. His loving mom became seriously ill and had to leave her home in New York to stay with friends in Tennessee. She was told Dakota and his sister, Cheyenne, could come… but months later, that welcome was withdrawn. Heartbroken and with nowhere else to turn, their mom had to let them go.   Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in immediately—because dogs who lose everything deserve a chance to feel safe again.   Dakota is still processing all the sudden changes in his young life. He is gentle and sweet, but understandably nervous, especially after living in a place where he wasn’t truly wanted. At first, he may hesitate when you reach out—but with a little patience, he leans in, softens, and may even offer a tiny kiss to show he’s trying to trust.   He finds comfort with other dogs—especially his sister—and loves to cuddle with them or burrow under a blanket when he feels unsure. Dakota is pee-pad trained, walks well on a leash, and loves following his foster mom from room to room, quietly seeking connection and reassurance.   More than anything, Dakota needs stability, a calm home, and someone who truly understands the tender nature of Chihuahuas. With love, patience, and a kind heart, he will blossom into the devoted, affectionate boy he so badly wants to be.   At Critter Cavalry Rescue, we promise dogs like Dakota that their heartbreak isn’t the end of their story. They will learn to trust again—and we are looking for the person who will help him do just that.   If you can picture yourself being the one to help Dakota heal, contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.This deserving little boy is ready for a gentle, loving forever home   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 7, 2025, 11:57 pm

Story
Meet Cheyenne — a delicate, dear-head Chihuahua with a heart as tender as her tiny 9-pound frame. At just three years old, she has already experienced more upheaval than any little dog should. She spent her life cherished by her mom, but when her owner became disabled and had to move in with friends, Cheyenne came along… only to be told she could no longer stay. It shattered her mom’s heart and left Cheyenne confused and frightened.   Cheyenne has lived a very sheltered, indoor life, and the changes of the past few months have left her understandably nervous. She needs time, patience, and a gentle hand to learn that her world can be safe again. Once she feels secure, she’ll quietly lean in, allow soft pets, and even offer a tiny kiss to show her trust.   This sweet girl isn’t demanding—she’s simply sensitive. She finds comfort in calm environments and absolutely needs another friendly dog in her new home. Having a canine companion gives her confidence and helps her settle. She loves cuddling with her dog friends, and in her foster home, her favorite cozy spot is tucked under a blanket where she feels warm and hidden.   Cheyenne is never aggressive or mean with other dogs, but energetic puppies are not her cup of tea—they’re a bit too lively for her peaceful spirit. What she truly wants is a patient, loving adopter who understands that trust is earned gently over time.   If you’re looking for a quiet, loyal little Chihuahua who will adore you once she knows she’s finally safe, Cheyenne may be your perfect match. With a secure, loving home, she will blossom into the devoted companion she’s meant to be.   Cheyenne is healthy, ready to go, and so deserving of her happily-ever-after.Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com to meet this precious girl.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 7, 2025, 11:57 pm
