Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html *****************   Chihuahua Mix Male (neutered) - Adult Looking for that smart, funny guy that can go anywhere and considers new adventures the very best thing in life?  Just pick up a leash and Ace starts dancing around ready to roll. And speaking of rolling, rolling around on the couch or in bed is probably his second most favorite thing to do.  So expect to share both with him and expect to laugh. Treats can also be used to persuade him in to learning cute tricks and are expected when he heads to his crate because that's what a good boy does. Want a dance partner, Ace is your guy. He can do the best little hind leg twirling. He also does love to give soft kisses and snuggles and his coat is so soft, who wouldn't want to snuggle with him. He also watches and is incredibly smart, he may think he is a bit human too.  Ace is a 2-3 years old chihuahua/spitz mix who is fully vetted. Crate trained but not his favorite thing and remember the treat. Potty trained, set ground rules about marking when he enters his new environment and he is smart so knows its not allowed. He has a voice and is not a barker but probably not the best for an apartment. Ace is good with canine family members (a little loud when he plays).  Cats are ok too.  **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Sidney came to AFH from one of our rescue partners.  They were called by a Sheriff's Department in Florida to assist with a hoarding case involving "50 to 100" Chihuahuas.  When they arrived, there were over 200!  They were all living in a filthy mobile home surrounded by trash and feces. The trailer had no running water or electricity.  Our rescue partner said "It was, honestly, one of the worst properties I've been on and I have been on some BAD ones."  Thanks to our wonderful fosters we were able to rescue 8 dogs.Sidney was pregnant when she arrived to AFH. She has since had an emergency c-section on 10/30/24. With her petite frame, bright curious eyes, and that sweet expression that stops you in your tracks, she has a way of completely stealing hearts without even trying. She’s dainty, precious, and absolutely irresistible—one of those puppies you just want to scoop up and never put down. At 12 weeks old and just 4 pounds, Nessa thrives on love and connection. She’s happiest right by your side (or in your arms), soaking up attention and returning it tenfold. She’s outgoing, confident, and wonderfully social—she adores kids, cats, and other dogs, and greets everyone like an old friend. Nessa is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to find a forever home where she can be cherished, cuddled, and loved endlessly. She’s a little girl with a huge heart and so much love to give. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Pennsylvania/ New England/ Virginia area and delivered in Pennsylvania, Virginia and RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog.
