Story
Meet Arphie: A Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient HeartMeet Arphie, a 5-year-old female Pointer with eyes that tell a story and a heart full of sweetness. While her past was marked by neglect, Arphie is ready to start her next chapter in a home thatunderstands the beauty of a slow bloom.True to her breed, she is elegant and observant, though currently very timid and shy in newenvironments. Once she knows she is safe, her gentle nature shines through—she is a `velcrodog` in the making who just needs to know she’s finally home. When it comes to sitting on yourlap, her motto is “I fits, I sits!”Arphie is currently a medical foster, recently having gone through surgery to remove two largetumors from her chest and leg. Arphie is also significantly underweight, and will need helpgradually putting on about 15 lbs. She is looking for a long-term foster or rescue partner whocan provide her with the consistent care and quiet environment she needs to heal physically andemotionally. She would do best in a home with a predictable routine and perhaps a confidentdog sibling to show her the ropes. She is not quite leash trained, but each day she gets betterand better. She loves to be outside for a good sniff-ari and taking rides in the car. She loves agood ear scritch and to wag her tail

05/13/26 15:04Meet Rusty!Rusty is a 4 year old pointer that came to our shelter in April. When he first got here, he was very unsure. He used to be sensitive to touch, but now he allows pets and is always excited to meet his walk buddy for the day. Rusty has not shown any reactivity towards dogs and will meet them nicely through the play yard fence. Rusty is slowly working on himself so that he can be the best version of himself for his forever family. Come in today and meet Rusty to see all the progress he`s been making.

Story
Meet Jameson, Bourbonny, and Tito — three resilient, attentive and ready to roll Pointer mix pups! This sweet trio was found abandoned near the Willits dump area after being left out in the cold to fend for themselves. Thankfully, one of our Sanctuary staff members found them just in time. Scared and starving, they are now safe and learning what it means to be cared for and loved. Jameson and Tito are the boys, and Bourbonny is the girl. All three are incredibly affectionate, love to cuddle, and want to run, wrestle and live life to the fullest. They are learning how to walk on a leash, building social skills, and are practicing good manners every day — and making wonderful progress. These pups have overcome so much and are ready to find active, adventurous and loving homes with plenty of time for outdoor activities and training, where they can continue to learn and thrive. Pointers are very athletic, active, may have bird dog hunting instincts … love water, running for joy, playing chase and cavorting with other dogs, and family members. These fine pups are heading to our Adoption Center in Pt Richmond and have spay/neuter appointments on Friday 5/22.

* Interested in adopting? Please read the dog’s full biography to see whether they may be a good fit for your home, then submit an application at www.dpsrescue.org. All DPS Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, flea/tick treated, and microchipped prior to adoption. This dog will be at the Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, May 16th from 12-3 PM unless adopted prior to the event. To be considered for adoption, please submit an application in advance at https://www.dpsrescue.org/adopt/dog-application/. Adoption fee: $650 Forget everything you think you know about mythical creatures because the Myth Litter has arrived… and honestly? Society may never recover. These 8 week old English Mastiff mixes are part puppy, part chaos gremlin, part legendary beast, and 100% committed to turning your home into a full-time comedy show. Their mama, Myth, is a 30lb Wire-haired Griffon mix who clearly woke up one day and said, “I would like to create baby moose.” Mission accomplished. These puppies are already over 10lbs and we expect them to be LARGE when full grown. Mom Myth was rescued from the shelter and clearly decided her comeback story needed dragons, giants, and cryptids. The puppies spend their days doing what all baby mythical creatures do: stampeding through the backyard body slamming each other over absolutely nothing stealing toys they do not even want falling asleep mid-zoomie acting personally victimized when breakfast is 14 seconds late They sleep through the night, eat three times a day, and are mastering the ancient puppy arts of “selective hearing” and “finding the exact one thing they are not supposed to chew.” Now introducing the legendary beasts themselves: SASQUATCH – “Talks Least, Says Most”Sasquatch is the calm, mysterious forest cryptid of the group. She does not waste time with unnecessary barking or drama. She simply stares into your soul like she knows your search history. This girl is SMART. She was the first puppy to crawl out of the whelping pool which honestly feels less like a milestone and more like the opening scene of a prison escape movie. Nothing gets past her. While the other puppies are out here acting like tiny caffeinated potatoes, Sasquatch is already evaluating structural weaknesses in your fencing. She is adventurous and playful during the day but absolutely melts into your arms when it is cuddle time. Basically, she is giving:“CEO during business hours. Weighted blanket after dark.” If you adopt Sasquatch, just know she will quietly become the manager of your household within 72 hours. LOCH NESS – “Class Clown” Loch Ness is the reason foster families can never fully relax. This girl wakes up every morning and chooses chaos. If there is a game happening, she started it. If there is wrestling happening, she escalated it. If there is a sibling minding their own business somewhere, don’t worry… she’ll fix that. Nessie is hilarious. She bounces through life like she just drank six Capri Suns and heard someone say “park.” Her mission in life is attention, comedy, and making absolutely sure nobody in the house experiences peace and quiet for too long. But honestly? She is impossible not to love. Her goofy personality is contagious and she keeps everyone laughing nonstop. She is the puppy equivalent of your funniest friend who should probably come with a warning label. Adopting Loch Ness means your camera roll will become 94% blurry action shots. YETI – “Talks Most, Says Least” Yeti may be the runt, but she has the confidence of a 7 foot nightclub bouncer. This tiny queen refuses to be overlooked. She will climb over siblings, launch herself into food bowls, and scream her opinions directly into the universe if she feels she is not receiving adequate attention. And honestly? Respect. Yeti stole hearts immediately with her sweet little face and oversized personality. She is the kind of puppy who acts like she personally pays the mortgage. Small body. Massive opinions. She is adorable, hilarious, feisty, cuddly, dramatic, and approximately 40% ears. If you are looking for a puppy with “main character energy,” congratulations. You found her. CHUPACABRA – “Most Athletic” Chupacabra, lovingly known as Chubey, is basically the cool guy in every early 2000s movie. Biggest puppy in the litter.Handsome face.Calm confidence.Athletic.Probably listens to a soundtrack while running in slow motion. This boy is always ready for adventure, tug of war, exploring the backyard, or inventing new Olympic sports with his siblings. But despite being the biggest and strongest, he has such a calm and steady personality. He is the kind of dog that will go from WWE wrestling match to peaceful nap beside you in under three minutes. He gives off serious:“Protective giant teddy bear who accidentally sits on your feet because he forgot he weighs 90lbs” energy. People are going to stop you in public to ask about this dog. Prepare yourself. BIG FOOT – “Most Likely to Sleep Through an Earthquake” Big Foot became a fan favorite before he even fully opened his eyes. This boy LOVES sleep with the dedication of a retired dad on a Sunday afternoon recliner. First one to the food bowl. First one to tap out for a nap. Honestly, if there were puppy Olympics for professional lounging, he would bring home gold. Biggy is chill, lovable, cuddly, and completely unbothered by the chaos around him. While the other puppies are conducting unauthorized wrestling tournaments, Big Foot is somewhere nearby snoring peacefully like he worked a double shift. But make no mistake — underneath that sleepy exterior is a giant sweetheart who just wants snacks, cuddles, and good vibes. If your dream dog is:“large mythical beast with the soul of a sleepy grandpa”this is your boy. The Myth Litter is going to grow into LARGE dogs with LARGE personalities and even larger ability to take over your couch, your routines, your camera roll, and your entire heart. And fair warning:if you wait too long, these legendary creatures may disappear into forever homes faster than a blurry Bigfoot sighting.May 21, 2026, 9:40 pm
