05/20/26 11:48Looking for your next best friend? Meet Canelo!Canelo is a gorgeous pointer that came to our shelter in mid-April. When he came in, his left eye had a lot of corneal scarring that our medical team suspects was likely due to a previous injury. His eye has since been removed and his recovery is going well! Canelo is super friendly and loves going on walks. He has a little bit of a strong pull so he may need some leash training. Canelo is also known to have a high prey drive so he would do best in a home where he doesn`t have any cat or rabbit siblings. If you`re ready to make this handsome boy a part of your family, please come in today to meet Canelo!

Story
Jerry is a very friendly and laid back senior English Pointer dog looking for his forever home. Although he is 11 years old, he is in great health and loves the quiet and calm life. He enjoys laying on the couch all day waiting for his time to go out or eat. He is very quiet and keeps to himself most of the time, but he likes to be petted and to receive affection. Due to his age, Jerry is missing a few teeth, so his tongue hangs out at times and prefers his kibble to be soften a bit. Overall he's a great dog and a wonderful companion for any family.

Story
Amaya is a sweet, attentive girl who came to us from the Stanislaus County Shelter where she had run out of time. She's friendly and affectionate once she knows you, taking a minute or two (and some treats) to warm up to strangers. But when she does, she's great at giving hugs and kisses both on your hands and face if you'll let her. She knows a couple of basic commands but would love a home where she can learn more! She can be a little mouthy, but it's always very gentle and comes from a place of play, so a home that can work on this behavior with her would be perfect. She also LOVES squeaky chew toys, so she'd love some toys to call her own! Amaya needs some patience as she gets used to living in a home, learning what's expected of her. But she's already made great progress in training at Milo, and now happily sits on a bench and watches the world go by. With a little work on socialization (she prefers slow intros to other dogs), acclimatizing her to the human world, and plenty of mental and physical stimulation and she'll be a loving and energetic family member!

Story
Dulce is a sensitive, thoughtful girl who takes a little time to warm up to humans and needs patience to feel safe. Once comfortable, her personality shines—especially around other dogs, whom she absolutely loves. She would do best in a home with a confident mentor dog or an outgoing puppy to help show her the ropes and build her confidence. Dulce will need a family who will focus on continued puppy training and offer lots of socialization opportunities. As she gets older, she will require daily exercise in the form of long walks and hikes. Excited to raise a puppy into a great canine citizen? Fill out a questionnaire and a volunteer will contact you. (NS) Estimated adult weight is 50+ pounds, no guarantees.

Their mom, Myth, is a 50-pound wire-haired Griffon mix who was rescued from a shelter and quickly proved herself to be an amazing mother.   These puppies are already over 10 pounds and are expected to be large dogs when fully grown, but right now they’re enjoying life as happy, playful puppies who are winning over everyone they meet.   What makes these puppies special? They’re not just adorable— they’re remarkably well-adjusted for their age. They sleep through the night, are crate trained, rarely bark, and are already doing very well with house training, using the grass outside and pee pads pretty consistently. They love people, enjoy meeting new friends, and have been amazing in foster care.   Like all puppies, they have plenty of energy and love to play, wrestle, and explore. But they also take frequent naps and are a joy to be around.   LOCH NESS – Playful, Silly, and Full of Joy   Loch Ness (Nessie) approaches every day with enthusiasm and is always ready to start a game, chase a toy, or wrestle her sister.   She’s playful, confident, and endlessly entertaining, but she’s also incredibly sweet and intuitive. Most puppies will chew on anything; even your hands. Not Nessi - she is gentle with people even as she’s wild playing with her sister. She has a talent for turning ordinary moments into memorable ones.   Loch Ness would thrive with a family looking for a fun-loving companion who will happily join in adventures, play sessions, and then chill time afterward. She brings a lot of energy to life—but in the very best way.   YETI – Soft Puppy, Big Heart   Yeti is curious, brave, and loves being part of whatever is happening. She’s playful and spirited but also loves her chin rubbed and will settle in by your feet when she’s tuckered out from all her play.   Yeti has a sweet, expressive face, loving personality, and determination to be included in all the fun.   Both of these girls are looking for families who are ready for the joys of puppyhood and excited to help them grow into wonderful adult dogs. With their friendly personalities, great early training habits, and sweet temperaments, they’re off to an amazing start.    June 11, 2026, 2:21 pm
