Story
**Currently, Songsol is in Korea, but she will arrive in SF upon adoption. Background Songsol was found on the streets of Yongin, Korea last summer. She had been abandoned and was in terrible condition. Her body was extremely thin, with only skin and bones left. She had severe bedsores and was unable to walk. Weak and exhausted, she was rushed to the hospital where she stayed for one month. After her hospitalization, Songsol joined our partner boarding house. With proper care, she slowly began to gain weight and rebuild her strength. She now lives peacefully with other dogs and continues to grow healthier every day. Personality and Socialization Songsol is a gentle and loving girl with a medium energy level. She is friendly with everyone she meets and does well with other dogs as long as they are friendly. More than anything, Songsol loves being with her people. She is very affectionate and enjoys cuddling and staying close to her humans. She is truly a people focused dog and feels happiest when she is by your side. Behaviour Songsol is an easygoing and smart girl. She does well in the car and is calm during baths, grooming, and vet visits. She walks nicely on leash and is generally well behaved. She can experience separation anxiety and prefers being near her humans. For this reason, we are looking for a home where someone is around most of the time and can offer her reassurance and companionship. Health and Diet While we do not know what Songsol went through before she was found, it is clear that she suffered severe neglect. Thankfully, she has fully recovered and is now healthy and is ready for her forever home. She does not require any special medication or treatment. Songsol is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and dewormed. She eats dry food twice a day and has shown no signs of allergies. Ideal Home Songsol is a sweet, gentle, and intelligent dog who deeply loves people. Her ideal home would be one where she is rarely left alone and is included in daily life. A detached house is preferred, as she may bark if she feels anxious when left alone. A quiet environment such as the countryside would suit her well. Dorcas is a stunning large black-and-white Pointer mix with soulful eyes and a gentle heart that’s learning how to shine. When she first arrived at the shelter, she was very timid and unsure of the world around her. But with patience, kindness, and a little reassurance, Dorcas has been blossoming beautifully—and it’s been a joy to watch her come out of her shell. Once she trusts you, Dorcas absolutely adores attention. She loves being pet and will sit as close as physically possible, soaking up every bit of affection. If you dare to stop, she’ll gently nudge her nose under your hand as a polite (but persistent!) reminder to keep the love coming. Her sweet, quiet devotion makes you feel truly special. Dorcas has a playful side too. While she’s not over-the-top about toys, she does show a particular interest in tennis balls—she may not throw a party over them, but she certainly appreciates a classic! When it comes to treats, Dorcas has refined taste. She’s a bit of a connoisseur and will thoughtfully consider your offering before accepting. (Pro tip: bring out the gourmet goodies and you’ll win her heart.) On leash, Dorcas is a dream. She walks beautifully and especially enjoys long “sniff-a-thons,” taking her time to investigate every bush and tree along the way. To Dorcas, every scent tells a story, and she’s determined to read them all. She would love a home that appreciates a leisurely stroll and understands that sometimes the journey is more important than the destination. During her dog evaluation, Dorcas did well and was somewhat reserved. She may do best with a calm canine companion or as your one-and-only, where she can continue building confidence at her own pace. Dorcas is looking for a patient, loving home that will let her keep blooming. In return, she’ll offer quiet companionship, loyal affection, and the sweetest little nose nudges you’ve ever known.
