Meet Arphie: A Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient HeartMeet Arphie, a 5-year-old female Pointer with eyes that tell a story and a heart full of sweetness.While her past was marked by neglect, Arphie is ready to start her next chapter in a home thatunderstands the beauty of a slow bloom.True to her breed, she is elegant and observant, though currently very timid and shy in newenvironments. Once she knows she is safe, her gentle nature shines through—she is a `velcrodog` in the making who just needs to know she’s finally home. When it comes to sitting on yourlap, her motto is “I fits, I sits!”Arphie is currently a medical foster, recently having gone through surgery to remove two largetumors from her chest and leg. Arphie is also significantly underweight, and will need helpgradually putting on about 15 lbs. She is looking for a long-term foster or rescue partner whocan provide her with the consistent care and quiet environment she needs to heal physically andemotionally. She would do best in a home with a predictable routine and perhaps a confidentdog sibling to show her the ropes. She is not quite leash trained, but each day she gets betterand better. Sugarplum's 7 pups were born 12/15/24. 3 males and 4 females. Pups are mellow but now walking around more and eating but too much for their current foster home to handle while they juggle their own 4 dogs and 2 cats. Mom has been moved to another foster home. Father is unknown. Meet their mom Sugarplum. Update: Susie is doing great at her home boarding/trainer home with other dogs. She loves playing with other dogs. Knows commands and very well trained. Affectionate and wants to be your BFF. Loves her hikes has great recall and daily walks. She is the last of her siblings to be adopted. 05/13/26 15:04Meet Rusty!Rusty is a 4 year old pointer that came to our shelter in April. When he first got here, he was very unsure. He used to be sensitive to touch, but now he allows pets and is always excited to meet his walk buddy for the day. Rusty has not shown any reactivity towards dogs and will meet them nicely through the play yard fence. Rusty is slowly working on himself so that he can be the best version of himself for his forever family. Come in today and meet Rusty to see all the progress he`s been making.

Meet Jameson, Bourbonny, and Tito — three resilient, attentive and ready to roll Pointer mix pups! This sweet trio was found abandoned near the Willits dump area after being left out in the cold to fend for themselves. Thankfully, one of our Sanctuary staff members found them just in time. Scared and starving, they are now safe and learning what it means to be cared for and loved. Jameson and Tito are the boys, and Bourbonny is the girl. All three are incredibly affectionate, love to cuddle, and want to run, wrestle and live life to the fullest. They are learning how to walk on a leash, building social skills, and are practicing good manners every day — and making wonderful progress. These pups have overcome so much and are ready to find active, adventurous and loving homes with plenty of time for outdoor activities and training, where they can continue to learn and thrive. Pointers are very athletic, active, may have bird dog hunting instincts … love water, running for joy, playing chase and cavorting with other dogs, and family members. These fine pups are heading to our Adoption Center in Pt Richmond and have spay/neuter appointments on Friday 5/22.
