These little guys are currently around 8 pounds and growing like weeds. Their mama is a 40-pound mixed-breed girl, and as for daddy (or daddies)... well, Daddy is a mystery man! Based on mama and their current growth, we expect these pups to mature into medium-sized dogs. They are happy, playful puppies who LOVE toys, wrestling with their siblings, and turning just about everything into a game. When they’re not busy having a puppy party, they’re happy to soak up some attention and show off those ridiculously cute faces. These pups are still young, which means their new families should be ready for all the fun that comes with puppyhood: training, patience, socialization, puppy zoomies, and plenty of toys! Blue Flint says he is a hound mix, with a vet estimated year of birth of 2020.  He is full of life and love. He is a super busy guy who will need lots of exercise and structure. Chevy is eager to please and has a very gentle mouth when taking treats and playing fetch. He is super smart and learns very fast. He really needs a home with a fenced in yard so he has plenty of room to run, play and burn off some energy and a family committed to working with him on training to provide the mental exercise he needs. He will also need to be an only pet. Chevy will be about 60lbs full grown. ~Adoption donation $300 All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and neutered. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Dogs with highly desirable traits—such as low-shedding coats and popular breeds—help us fund lifesaving care for dogs who need it most, including nursing moms, imaging and surgeries for dogs with traumatic injuries, and medications for those requiring lifesaving heartworm treatments. Your generosity makes this possible! Meet Steve, a sweet, scruffy little guy who is happiest when he knows his people are nearby. He’s a true little shadow who will happily follow you from room to room, although he’s more of a “sit beside you” kind of guy than a lap dog. Give him a comfy spot on the couch, a window to watch the world go by, and some time with his favorite people, and Steve is perfectly content. He even has the cutest little prance when he walks! Steve has a nice balance of playful and relaxed. He has medium energy and would love a securely fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and explore, but he’s equally happy to settle in for a good nap afterward. He sleeps peacefully through the night in his playpen and won’t mind if you’re someone who likes to sleep in. He’s comfortable in both a crate and playpen and may occasionally whine for a moment if he’s left alone or gets bored and is ready for some attention. Outside, Steve is still building his confidence. He can walk on a leash and does well in a harness, but the world can make him a little skittish, so a quieter neighborhood and continued leash practice would be ideal. He’s a good traveler, too, and usually settles right down and lies quietly during car rides. Steve has done very well with a female dog around his size. Since he hasn’t had much experience with male or larger dogs, slow introductions would be the best way to help him make new canine friends. He does like to keep an eye on the neighborhood from the window and may alert you when people or animals pass by. He’s still discovering the joys of dog toys, although he has decided that tearing up paper is pretty entertaining! He’s also making great progress with his house training. Since Steve doesn’t yet let you know when he needs to go outside, keeping him on a consistent routine will help him continue to succeed. He isn’t particularly food motivated and tends to be a leisurely eater, often starting his first meal around lunchtime and eating again later in the day. His food can also be left out for him to enjoy at his own pace. Steve can be a little nervous about being picked up, but he has never reacted aggressively. He’s otherwise an easygoing guy when it comes to grooming and has happily tolerated baths, nail trims, and even a nail grinder. His scruffy coat does shed more than his appearance might suggest, so regular brushing will help keep him looking his best. Steve is a gentle little companion who is looking for a home where he can continue gaining confidence at his own pace. In return, he’ll be your loyal shadow, your couch companion, and the adorable little scruffy guy with the happy prance who is always glad to be by your side.
