If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail any questions to: adoptioncenter@homewardtrails.org PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ LOCATION: Adoption Center ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Adoption Center ADOPTION FEE: $475. This fee INCLUDES spay/neuter and microchip. **Ask me about our many adoption benefits that include free exams, pet insurance, training and other discounts! ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 45 lbs. KNOWN WITH DOGS: Domino prefers playing with dogs who don't play too hard and respect when he gives them signals, or spending solo time with his human friends. KNOWN WITH CATS: We do not currently know how they are with cats. If that is needed, let us know and we'll work on getting that information! KNOWN WITH KIDS: We think Domino would do better in a home with older children or adults. KNOWN CUES: Paw, Sit, Down, working on Spin, Crawl, and Touch. KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING &/OR CRATING: Domino goes into and rests in his crate fine at the Adoption Center though he was more concerned about it in a home environment. He also seems to be housebroken. KNOWN LIKES: Sniffing, attention from friends who move at his speed, fetch, toys, treats. KNOWN DISLIKES: People who move too quickly, loud noises, being alone. ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: What impact does the domino effect have on you? Exercise caution, as you might find yourself entranced just as I was. From the very first moment I encountered Domino, I was utterly captivated by him. We spent a delightful afternoon together, lounging on the sofa while I attended to my work. Domino made numerous attempts to assist me; he would perch on my lap and gaze at the computer screen. On occasion, he even attempted to type for me. Although his contributions may not have aligned with my needs, his efforts were nonetheless appreciated. You may wonder where his happy place is, and that is hanging out with his favorite people, moving at his speed. When he adores you, he loves putting himself in your space and receiving attention, but sometimes too much love can be overwhelming for Domino, so he prefers his attention in small bursts. Domino has a fondness for treats and enjoys being in the company of people. He doesn't mind being around dogs, provided they respect his cues when he is ready to conclude playtime. He relishes short cuddles, play sessions with toys, and leisurely walks in tranquil environments. Although he may initially feel anxious when meeting new individuals, he quickly warms up, and once he gets to know you, he wants to spend all his time by your side and would prefer a home with constant human companionship. So, I pose the question once more: What effect does the domino effect have on you? I invite you to visit the adoption center to meet him and discover for yourself what an extraordinary and lovable companion he truly is. Domino was neutered before coming to Homeward Trails. Story
With her striking Dalmatian-style spots, Jill turns heads everywhere she goes—but she'd rather be getting belly rubs than attention. She’s a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being near her people and aims to please. Whether she’s curled up beside you or napping nearby, Jill is the ultimate low maintenance companion. She’s crate-trained, handles alone time well, and gets along great with other dogs. Playful in short bursts, she’s mostly a professional napper. Just don’t rattle a treat bag unless you’re ready for full snack-mode—she’s working on a little more self-control in that department. 💖 Gentle, loyal, and full of love—Jill’s ready to be your new best friend. Adopters have 30 days of free access to 1-on-1 text and email support from trainers at Petcademy to help make every pet's transition into their new home as smooth as possible. All dogs available for adoption have been spayed/neutered, microchipped and are current on all vaccinations. Please email dogs@henricohumane.org for more information.

Story
SUNNY Sunny is a beautiful handsome sweet gentle but strong and energetic Lemon and White Hound possibly Pointer mix boy. He was found by a neighbor January 2023 in pitiful shape. Bloody, wounded, skeletal - so weak, starved and exhausted he could barely stand. But his beautiful spirit was quickly restored with food and vetting and love. He has been treated for Heartworm, tickborne, and he has been neutered - YAY! Amazingly, he still loves people. He is dog friendly and cat friendly. He is really good on his leash. He plays with toys and enjoys his meals and treats. His teeth are extremely worn down from his harsh cruel former life. And one of his eyes was lost. But overall he is HAPPY, healthy, and enjoying life - thank goodness and knock on wood. He loves being outside in the fenced yard, and has perfect indoor manners whether crated or in his "living room." He really would make a sweet easy going companion to a nice person in need. Story
My name is Robbie and I am puppy at heart and only 6 months old.  My pictures make me look big but ready I am not big at all. I only weigh 35 pounds at 6 months and they say I will be 65-70- pounds as an adult.  I LUV KIDS!   My heart leaps for joy when I See children that I can play with and love on.  I am a boy that loves to run fast and for a little bit of time too.  I need not only physical Exercise but also some fun games and training games to help my smart brain feel challenged too.  I need a fenced yard and someone To help share playtime and games with me sometimes.  I could use the company of another dog as well to help me with the physical Playtime outside and also to keep me active with socialization with other dogs.   We think that Robbie has some Pointer in him since He raises once leg and seems to point quite often during this outside playtime.  He is alert and very smart.   He walks pretty well on a leash and he is curious to learn more things about life.  He is not inside a lot so we would have to say that he could be housebroken fast if given some one on one Attention and training.  This boy is good with cats, dogs and adores children.  He never meets a stranger and he will needs a fenced yard To best live within safely and to run and play for long hours if the weather is good.  We want a wonderful dog savvy and loving family for Robbie.   He will be a 65 pounds boy when fully grown we think.   If you are interested in knowing more about Robbie please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Mention where you live.  We transport from Nashville, TN where we are based and we travel to the Northeastern region as well with our pre-adopted dogs.   Thank you for considering this precious boy   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 30, 2024, 2:10 pm

Story
We found Mickey as an emaciated puppy and nursed him back to health. The vet estimates that he will be one in August. He is up to date on his shots and healthy! He is a sweet dog but full of energy and with a toddler and newborn we do not have the time to play with him like he needs. He is crate and house trained. He would do very well with another dog and loves to play!
