Story
Hi, we’re Beto and Pantera, a bonded pair who have spent our whole lives side‑by‑side, and we’re looking for a forever home where we can stay together. We don't look alike. Beto is a 35‑pound black‑and‑white Pointer, and Pantera is a 22‑pound black Dachshund mix. But our hearts beat in the same rhythm. We’re about seven years old, fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative, and 100% house trained. We were rescued in Costa Rica after showing up skinny, hungry, and desperate for help. Our family took us in, loved us back to health, and eventually brought us with them to the United States. We’ve been inseparable ever since. Our family is moving out of the country so we are looking for a new home in the states. In Costa Rica, we participated in training classes as comfort dogs. We haven't kept up this training, but our behavior speaks for itself. People constantly remark on how sweet, loving, and easy we are. I love to “woo‑woo” and serenade you with my happy voice. I’m affectionate, snuggly, and incredibly respectful. I’ve never chewed anything I shouldn’t, never had an accident in the house, and I sit patiently while my person says grace before meals. I walk beautifully on a leash, love car rides, and make friends with other dogs quickly when we walk together as a pack. I do have prey drive, so I’m not sure how I’d do with cats. Pantera (Dachshund Mix, Female, 22 lb.) I’m the little shadow who wants to be close to you. I’m gentle, snuggly, and just as respectful as Beto. I’ve never touched anything that wasn’t mine and have never had an accident indoors. I walk well on a leash, love car rides, and warm up quickly to new dogs when we walk together. I have partial cataracts, so I see best in good lighting and may get unsure in dim spaces, but I navigate life just fine with a little reassurance. I also have prey drive, so cats are an unknown. Our Bond We’ve been together through hunger, rescue, healing, travel, and love. We comfort each other, follow each other, and relax best when we’re side‑by‑side We would fit well into just about any home whether active, calm, or a little mix of everything. We are looking for a loving home where we can stay together, keep our routines, and continue being the gentle, affectionate companions we’ve always been. We’re easy dogs, polite, quiet, house-trained, and deeply loving. We don’t need crates, we adore car rides, and we’re wonderful with children and friendly dogs. If you’re searching for a pair of deeply devoted, well‑mannered, emotionally intuitive dogs who will fill your home with warmth, sweetness, and companionship, we might be your perfect match. We are located in Franklin, TN but can be transported out of state to reach a loving home. If you are interested in us, please fill out an application today. I’m the singer of the duo. Story
Please contact Courtney Nobles (courtneyn@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet girl ISO fresh start and love! RILEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Riley      Best Guess for Breed:   Pointer mix   Best Guess for Age:  4.5 years as of March 2026      SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  42 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs!  We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Riley is Looking For:     Her forever home! This sweet girl landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. At a bit under five years old, she's past her puppy days but is up for adventure - she's eager for sniffy walks and romps and world exploration with her humans! A cushy dog bed, quality kibble, and lots of snuggles round out her wish list. But most of all she wants to know where she belongs, that she's safe and loved. What do you say? Do you have space in your home and your heart for Riley?   What My Foster Says About Me:  From her overnight foster: 'Riley was such a lovely houseguest on Saturday night! I would describe her as 'cautiously curious'. She was happy to meet new people and dogs, but when it comes to trying new things (i.e. entering new rooms or sniffing things outside), she prefers to dip her toes in slowly. She was kind to every person we have met so far, and loves attention. I don't have a dog of my own, but she did great with 1-on-1 meetings with dogs of all sizes, including a sassy Frenchie. She has a great family dog energy - she has energy for walks and playtime, but is very happy to watch TV on the couch (as long as it includes head scratches!). She was a little tentative to go into the crate, but once she's in, she is very well behaved. Also, she had no accidents in my house! She is a sweet, happy girl, and anyone would be lucky to have her!'   Heartworm information:   Riley is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Riley has completed this exercise restriction period.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. This is Stella, she is a high energy doggo. She wants your pets and will do anything for it, in the time we have spent together she has learned sit and shake. She learns quickly but will try to spam whatever you taught her for more treats. She is about 2 years old. She will break out of and into anything thats not concrete with reinforced rebar. Her best life would be a yard for her zoomies.
