All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Pennsylvania/ New England/ Virginia area and delivered in Pennsylvania, Virginia and RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. Price also includes transportation and a Health Certificate as required by law. There is a 100.00 deposit required at the time of adoption to secure the transport crate. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. AMBER IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO VA ONCE ADOPTED! Hi I’m Amber. I am a spunky little pup that has a personality larger than life. I get so excited I just can’t contain it. I am 8 months old and weigh about 35 pounds. I bark and wiggle around and do a lot of jumping. Love to play with other pups and love to snuggle and get all the love. I am learning manners and how to be house broken. Being young it is a bit tricky but I am trying. If you try to clean I will help by standing in your way looking all kinds of cute. I have a slow feeder because I eat too fast, don’t want it to just disappear. I have a cute tail wag when you tell me I did something good. I can ride in the car well but just enjoy being around other pups and my human. I would love a home to call my own with a soft bed and toys, and plenty of treats please. She is fully vetted. Vetting includes spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. Meet Bubba! Rescued from a high-kill shelter, this is a big, lovable, playful guy who could be the newest companion to your pack! With soulful eyes and a tail that wags for days, this four-year-old darling is a sweetheart who just wants to find and be with his people. He is very house-trained, working on being crate-trained (going well), knows his name, “sit" and “down," and is non-destructive when left alone. Bubba is a polite house guest. He doesn’t bark at dogs or people as they walk by, both when he’s in the house or whenever out on walks. Attentive and affectionate, Bubba is happiest on walks or runs, playing in the yard, chewing on his toys and lounging on the couch with his people. He is a big lap dog who loves to show love and get love in return. Though he is large, he is well-behaved enough for an apartment, as long as he gets enough exercise. But if he had his preference he would love a bit of yard to go along with his walks. (And he is always down for a walk!) He is an active guy who will walk/run/play hard and nap hard. He loves to romp around in the yard, sniff everything, play fetch, and has shown to be interested but not aggressive toward wildlife. He is eager to please, food motivated (good for training) and is a champ in the car. He responds well with firm/calm direction but also handles the noise of (a lot of) kids, play and laughter with ease. Bubba needs a loving household and a person/family who will continue to train him and treat him kindly. Bubba would be happy as your only dog or with another playful dog or dogs. He has socialized well with other medium and large dogs. He shows no food aggression or resource guarding. He would do well with younger and older kids alike. He isn’t totally aware of his size but will remind you of it when he gets excited, pushes into you for attention or play or when he lays on you for cuddles. Current Location: Strasburg, VA Hello, my name is Dottie! I'm thought to be a Pointer mix, about 2 years old and currently weigh about 40 pounds. I'm a submissive gal with a sweet temperament and do very well with the people and dogs I've met. I love, love, love to snuggle and like nothing better than to sit next to my people and get lots of attention and hugs. I'm also house trained and walk well on the leash. I just weaned my litter of pups and will be spayed on 12/1. I'm heartworm positive and will receive treatment on 12/15 and can go home with my new family in time to celebrate the new year. I am microchipped, current on my vaccines and monthly preventives, and will be spayed and have received heartworm treatment prior to adoption. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito producing a positive test in six months. OPH will treat the dog and provide two weeks of recovery time prior to adoption. Potential adopters will receive detailed information on the disease and their role in completing the recovery process from OPH’s heartworm coordinator. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Phantom came in to the shelter as a stray, thin and obsessed with food. while he does not appear to have been starved, he does appear to have been denied enough food to support him, and he is ravenous at all times. He has a sweet personality, despite his desire to be eating constantly., We are trying to help heal his torn paws now, but it’s hard to hold a good dog down. He is friendly with other dogs, adores humans, and will do anything you ask him to do. He loves rain in the Sunshine, and office time is important to him as well. We are certain he was probably kept on a tie out since the first few days we tried to take him walking. He did not have a clue how to walk on the wish but thought he should run circles around our volunteers. This boy is going to be an awesome pal to an active family who will fulfill his every wish!
