Polkey is a sweet dog great with dogs and cats and people. She is amazing. She is calm and easy going making her the perfect pet for anyone! If you are someone who is busy in life, understandably and do not want a demaning high energy time consuming addition she is so easy and calm ! This shelter has a few great volunteers, who hand pick us the BEST of their dogs. Originally saved from Kurth Memorial Animal Shelter in LUfkin Tx. We send ALL funds back to the shelter, we pay for transport and all of their medical, health certificates, spay, shots, etc. We want to make sure the volunteers who spend their own funds and/or fundraise, since shelters cannot pay for basically anything, so they can focus on the other 200 puppies/dogs there to try and save them and so we are not adding to their financial burdens!.

I am house trained and crate trained, love dog beds and toys!I am very smart and know some commands.  I walk well on a leash, get in and out of cars, crate trained and like agility obstacles.   I will do best in a quiet home with another dog or no dog and where someone is always home.  Also need a house with a securely fenced yard.. No apartments! This pup has been with my brother for the last couple of years, he rescued him from a shelter down in Oklahoma. They were best friends, he is very well potty trained, house trained and Kennell trained. If you "say Shorty go gome" he goes straight to his Kennel. Last June my brother had some medical issues and was in the hospital for 6 weeks, he got out and continued to have some issues, so come October I had to fly down there and help him pack up all of his things and drive him back to Washington because of his medical issues. They have continued to be ongoing and now he is away at a treatment facility and is going to be gone a minimum of 6 to 18 months. It was unexpected and I do not have the time or space to care for an additional dog. If my brother does make it through this he will not be in a position to take care of an animal either, he will need to focus on himself. He will do well with a yard. Please help, ive done ass much as I am able too, he deserves more.
