Online  Adoption Application THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. &#226&#156&#168 Clarisse & Kringle must be adopted together as they are a bonded pair. &#226&#156&#168 Meet Kringle! This handsome boy loves being petted, and having his cheeks scratched puts a big grin on his face! He enjoys napping on the desk—preferably snuggled up next to you—and sleeps on the bed with his people. Lately, he’s even been creeping closer to enjoying a warm lap! Kringle loves chasing strings and feather toys, but his true passion is soccer. He often practices all on his own with his favorite little foam ball. &#226&#154&#189 As kittens, Kringle and his sister Clarisse had a very rough start. They were kept in a crate in a basement with no handling or socialization. When they arrived in rescue, they were essentially wild. Thanks to the patience and dedication of our volunteers, Kringle has made an incredible transformation—from a terrified, distrustful cat into a sweet boy who genuinely enjoys affection. Kringle is still “working on himself” and would do best in a quiet home with an adopter who has previous cat experience. He is not suited for a home with small children, as he can become overstimulated and may nip at hands when he feels unsure. That said, his cuddle sessions are lasting longer and longer, and we are hopeful that once he feels truly safe and settled in his forever home, this protective behavior will continue to fade. Despite his difficult beginning, Kringle is ready to return affection tenfold. He has been brave, resilient, and patient, and he deserves a loving home where he and Clarisse can continue to blossom into the wonderful cats they were always meant to be. Click here to learn more about Clarisse. Kringle's adoption fee is $250.00. There is a $30.00 discount for adopting a pair of MCR cats, so the fee for both Kringle and Clarisse would be $470.00.  Your adoption fee includes spay/neuter, FVRCP Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Combo Test (Neg/Neg), dewormer, flea prevention, microchip, and wellness visit.  For more information, contact Maine Coon Rescue at: adoption@mainecoonrescue.net. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online  Adoption Application THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. &#226&#156&#168 Clarisse & Kringle are siblings, bonded, and must be adopted together. &#226&#156&#168 Meet Clarisse! This gorgeous girl has a big personality packed into a petite frame — a true “Mini Maine Coon Mix.” While she may look like a sophisticated little lady, Clarisse is anything but boring. She loves to play and chase strings, tears around the house like a wild woman, and is a champion bunny-kicker when it comes to her kicker toy. When she’s ready to relax, Clarisse enjoys being petted and showing off her super-soft fur. She also has the sweetest, breathy little meow that sounds like she’s saying, “hey.” Clarisse and her brother Kringle had a heartbreaking start to life. As kittens, they were kept in a crate in a basement with no handling or socialization. When they arrived in rescue, they were essentially wild. Thanks to the patience and dedication of our volunteers, Clarisse has blossomed into a sociable kitty who naps next to her people, taps your hand to ask (or demand!) pets, and even cautiously comes out to say “hello” when visitors arrive. Clarisse is not suited for a home with children. Because of her early lack of socialization, she can occasionally become overstimulated and may nip or swat. She is still a bit skittish and will do best in a quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace. With her “turtle toes,” expressive face, and big diva energy, Clarisse is a hilarious little character who will steal your heart before you even realize it. She and Kringle are ready to find a calm, loving home where they can continue to grow together. Click here to learn more about Kringle. Story
Plea for help from Jonathan: “My friend and I took in several feral cats a while ago. Most are now socialized and many are bonded pairs/families. Since we are both experiencing severe health problems currently and a move from the area has become necessary, we can no longer care for the cats. We are looking for good homes for them.   We are located in Clinton, MD (southern PG County). The best method of reaching us is: zcathouse.md@gmail.com”   Mushmellow [a.k.a. 'Mush'] (NM, Brown Tabby?, DLH?/Maine Coon?, ~7+ years?) & Scout (NM, Black, DSH, ~6+ years?) Mush[mellow] never liked hanging out at the salad bowl, but his food bowl is his claim to fame and weight gain. Scout waits patiently for his turn. And even though Mush also hogs their bed, Scout still loves him and they always work it out. They are best buds for life! Two gentle giants who were found at our local Rite Aid, and are, thus, referred to as the "Rite Brothers". That said, we don't know whether they are siblings, or even related at all, though it is clear they are strongly bonded and have great affection for one another. Mushmellow was initially quite larger than Scout, so we believe there may be some age difference. Whatever the case, they are both big dudes who will need lots of exercise - along with a relatively strict diet. Mushmellow has a tendency to give some pretty strong 'love bites', but he means well. Scout, on the other hand, likes to make sure he knows where his 'brother' is most of the time.   Disclaimer: AAHA provides complimentary listings for members of the community who wish to rehome their pet, as well as for other shelters/ rescues to assist them in finding Furever homes.
