Maine Coon kittens & cats in Baltimore, Maryland

Plea for help from Jonathan: “My friend and I took in several feral cats a while ago. Most are now socialized and many are bonded pairs/families. Since we are both experiencing severe health problems currently and a move from the area has become necessary, we can no longer care for the cats. We are looking for good homes for them.   We are located in Clinton, MD (southern PG County). The best method of reaching us is: zcathouse.md@gmail.com”   Mushmellow [a.k.a. 'Mush'] (NM, Brown Tabby?, DLH?/Maine Coon?, ~7+ years?) & Scout (NM, Black, DSH, ~6+ years?) Mush[mellow] never liked hanging out at the salad bowl, but his food bowl is his claim to fame and weight gain. Scout waits patiently for his turn. And even though Mush also hogs their bed, Scout still loves him and they always work it out. They are best buds for life! Two gentle giants who were found at our local Rite Aid, and are, thus, referred to as the "Rite Brothers". That said, we don't know whether they are siblings, or even related at all, though it is clear they are strongly bonded and have great affection for one another. Mushmellow was initially quite larger than Scout, so we believe there may be some age difference. Whatever the case, they are both big dudes who will need lots of exercise - along with a relatively strict diet. Mushmellow has a tendency to give some pretty strong 'love bites', but he means well. Missy (f) is a beautiful Maine Coon mix who found herself living alone and in need of a new person to love when her senior, human dad passed away. She will take a minute to warm up to you but will quickly become your best friend. Missy is 5 years old and the perfect age if you are looking for a kitty who is playful but not high energy. She is talkative but not excessively. Missy also has perfect potty manners. Our gorgeous fluffy lady has lots of love to give to the lucky person or family who adopters her. We think Missy would do best in a quiet home as an only fur companion. ##2357057##

Celeste is a beautiful, purebred Maine Coon. She was surrendered to us very, very sick- sick to the point where she couldn't stand. She had an illness called FIP. Until recently, FIP was 100% fatal. There is a treatment now, but it is very expensive. We put Celeste through the entire treatment and she is now healthy, spayed, and ready to find a forever home. Celeste is a super sweet, friendly girl. She is inquisitive , and a typical Maine Coon in the way that she acts like a dog in a cat body. She does have an elevated adoption fee, just so we can cover the cost of the medical care that we put into her rehabilitation and help more animals.

Sage is a gorgeous one-year-old longhaired cat who was left in a cage outside of a rural shelter in Virginia and very quickly became a shelter favorite before landing in one of our foster homes here in Washington, DC. She continues to amaze everyone she meets here with her calm confidence and friendly demeanor. Whoever adds this sweetie to their family will be very lucky! Sage is done with her kitten vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and has wonderful litterbox manners. The adoption fee for this kitten is $175, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. Billy (DLH Black 7 yrs 2 mths male & Buttercup (DSH 5 yr Brown female Tabby) (bonded), (June 2025) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Billy and Buttercup, what a cool looking pair!, lost their home a few years ago when their owner went to a Nursing Home. They found help from the local Humane Society and had a permanent foster home, or so they thought. Just a couple weeks ago, that foster home said they could no longer care for them and asked for them to be moved to an adoptive home. They are a bonded pair, devoted to each other and are looking for a home together. The cat's adoption fee is $100 EACH, to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. Riley the Great! Riley is in need of a loving patient family. Around the house she loves cuddles and rubs from everyone. Loves to nap and play. She loves attention and find it fun when you chase her and play “fetch” with toys. The patience comes into play with retraining. She loves the attract litter and consistency when cleaning.. She requires a consistent feeding time, or she will get antsy. With new people she gets anxious based on her background. She was with a family with a young child that wasn’t safe with her. If your energy isn’t right she will not want you around. She’s loving and great to have around the house for love comfort and support.

3 year female who needs affectionate owner. Sweet cat in need of new home.

My husband and I adopted Maize about 8 years ago along with a male kitten, not from the same litter. They grew up together and co-existed peacefully, for the most part. We welcomed our first baby into our home in 2021, and Maize became increasingly anxious, especially as our son grew into a toddler and began to chase her around. After my daughter was born in 2024, we no longer felt comfortable keeping Maize in our home, as she became increasingly anxious with our baby around and began to scratch her when threatened. We are heartbroken to give up our sweet Maize but have decided this is the best decision for our kids' safety. Maize would be happiest in a household without young kids, preferably as an only cat.
