Story
Oh, how we LOVE Remy! Remy is about 4-5 months old and is the epitome of a big personality in a little package. There truly are no dull moments with him around, and he will keep you on your feet with his sassy back talk and endless goofy antics. He loves to be the center of attention and show off his zoomies. Remy is full of energy and brings the party wherever he goes. He would be the perfect adventure buddy for an active family who wants a more compact canine companion. Remy weighs about 6lbs now, and we estimate he will be around 15-20lbs when fully grown. Remy came to us from a local shelter after he was found as a stray with a fractured leg. We were able to partner with the UC Davis Fracture Program to get him all fixed up, and now he is healed and ready for action! Remy is an absolute blast to hang out with, and he provides endless entertainment with his loud personality and love of fun. He has lots of opinions and isn't afraid to let them be heard, so apartment life wouldn't be the best fit for him. He loves to race around and play tug and has learned the joy of food puzzles. His new family will need to be prepared to keep his busy mind and body occupied with lots of physical and mental stimulation. He is still working on all of his basic manners and needs a family committed to helping him learn and be the best boy he can be. Remy loves other dogs and would be a great wrestling buddy for another small/medium playful dog. He hasn't met cats before, but could do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Remy could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Remy is still working on his housetraining, but is making great progress. His new family will need to be patient with him and be consistent about taking him outside and rewarding him for pottying outside. Remy has been doing well being left for short periods in his pen and sleeping through the night in his crate. He would do best with a family who can be home with him often and not have to leave him alone for long periods. Remy is such an amazing little puppy, and he deserves a family just as wonderful as him. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today!   Remy's adoption fee is $400.   Apply to adopt here!   https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/   Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. Story
Hanzo (male, pomeranian mix) and Misha (female, shih tzu mix) are looking to go to a new home together as their current owners are moving into a senior living facility that unfortunately does not allow animals. Both Hanzo and Misa are reported to be very friendly with strangers and will accept pets from anyone. They are very healthy and have routine checkups with their veterinarians. These two are a bonded pair and would love to go to a home together. If you are interested in meeting Hanzo and Misa, please reach out to their current owner at: rwu@ucdavis.edu. All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months).    All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Meet Delilah! She's really shy in the shelter, but she's thriving in foster. A 6 year old pomeranian mix she does well with kids and is very good with other dogs, though she does prefer bigger dogs. She's a talkative girl who will let you know exactly what she thinks. Interested in adopting? Visit our shelter during open hours and ask about Delilah A059247June 30, 2025, 5:39 pm

Story
Meet the ooooober handsome Geordi La Forge!   This special guy is around 11 lbs and we are guessing approximately 14 years old. This is what his foster mom says about him -   'Geordi Geordi Geordi... what can I say about this beautiful little bundle of joy!? It took some time for this little Angel to come out of his shell, s He is a black and white, neutered male Pomeranian. The shelter said he is about 4 years old, the vet stated more like 14...but he has all of his teeth, and they don't look bad either! So I'm guessing he is much younger than that, but I'm not an expert, so who really knows!? He came from a hoarding situation, but we dont know much about his upbringing. His poor little rear end had so much hair loss, but its slowly growing back. His face is a little crooked and we don't know if it was an old injury, or birth defect. He yawns smaller than normal because his mouth is a little crooked, but I think it makes him that much more beautiful .   I Love this little dog! He is sweet, gentle, loving, and potty trained to potty pads. He even uses a doggy door to go outside! He gives his foster mama kisses, although it took about 3 weeks for him to really come out of his shell, but he is out now and fully loving life! He greets me at the door and wags his little tail when I come home, even bounces and spins sometimes too! He is really is a happy little guy. He is very quiet, and does sleep quite a bit, but if you aren't hanging out with him on the couch, he WILL come find you even if you are in dispose ()! He does really well on small flights of stairs, its about 5 to get outside my home. He has a pretty good appetite and loves his Freeze Dried Raw Stella and Chewys Pet food, but kinda snubs the Nulo kibble .   He gets along well with other dogs big and small...he doesnt play much, but is the best couch potato Netflix snuggler you can find! Hands down, he will LOVE those weekend binge fests! Oh and the belly rubs , he absolutely LOVES his belly rubs! I'll get him up from a nap and say let's go potty Geordi! And he will just roll over and give me his belly. He makes my heart melt .   He would probably do best in a home with older more chill kids as he does have a bit of a sight and hearing impairment and can get nippy if he is approached too fast or aggressively. He also doesn't like going to the vet because it scares him, so he can be nippy there too. But once he knows you, and knows you won't hurt him, he will be your best friend furrever! '   Are you that special someone he has been looking for!?   If you are interested in any further information on this beautiful little bundle of joy, please email at: beourpet@gmail.com   Geordi is ready and waiting to meet you!    We are on all social media at @umbrellaofhope and we invite you to follow us and share which helps more people see and adopt our pets.  To help our ALL VOLUNTEER team rescue more senior, special needs, medically needy and hospice animals (and a few 'typical' ones along the way, please consider making a tax-deductible (TAX ID 45-4103375) donation online at www.paypal.me/UOH or Venmo @umbrellaof-hoperescue or Zelle beourpet@gmail.com.   You can also buy tees, tanks. sweatshirts, hats and bandannas where all proceeds benefit our animals https://ruff-life-rescue-wear.myshopify.com/collections/umbrella-of-hope We also have an Etsy store where the merchandise is made by volunteers and supporters, changes regularly and 100% of the proceeds benefit our medical fund https://www.etsy.com/shop/Umbrellaofhope Amazon Wish List tinyurl.com/pineapplewish  June 7, 2025, 6:31 pm
