Story
Looking for a pup who is equal parts silly, snuggly, and totally unforgettable? Bear is your guy! He may look like a dignified little senior, but don't be fooled, this bouncy ball of fur is still a "senior in training" with plenty of pep in his step.He loves to prance around like the star of his own parade, making sure everyone notices just how cute he is. Attention? He demands it. Love and cuddles? He gives them right back, with interest. When he’s not busy charming humans, you’ll find him entertaining himself with toys or channeling his inner cat - perched on the back of the couch for a cozy nap with the best view in the house. And of course, every true character has quirks: Bear insists on only dining and drinking from plastic bowls - no exceptions, please! Like most, I tend to wake up on the wrong side of the bed when woken too quickly. The slower the better, I am a sensitive little fella. This little guy is the perfect mix of independence and affection, and he is ready to bring his prancing paws, quirky habits, and endless love to a forever home. 💕Fill out an adoption application directly on our website at www.lionelslegacy.org

Story
Leo Lamborghini entered Twenty-Nine Palms Shelter as a stray, and when he wasn't claimed, we welcomed his as a Frosted Face. Leo is estimated to be 8 years old and weighs 23 lbs. Leo is a sweet, quiet boy who is fine with being picked up, walks nicely on leash, and does well with other dogs in our littles play yard. Leo joined volunteers and other adoptable Frosted Faces on a fun group outing: paddle boarding! As you can in the video, Leo sat nicely on the board and enjoyed the breeze in his face. He was ready to return to land after a short little cruise. Leo is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling enjoying love and pampering in the comfort of a home. His foster mom shared this great update: "This is the 5th day of little Leo's fling. He slept a lot through the first 3 days as he decompressed, but he is really starting to show his personality now. Things I’ve learned: - He gets the zoomies after he goes potty, which is very cute. - He hasn't had any accidents. - He won’t wake you up in the morning. - He loves chin rubs. - He doesn’t have separation anxiety. - He loves food. - He can see, but his vision is somewhat limited. - Everyone that meets him is obsessed with him." Stay tuned for the next update from Leo's foster family! To meet Leo, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
Bonita Shelter reached out to us on Friar's behalf, and we were happy to step in and give this sweet senior the second chance he deserved. He is estimated to be around 13 years old and weighs just under 12 lbs. He is very sweet. Friar went on a two-week Frosted Fling to receive lots of love and care while we learned more about him in the comfort of a home. His foster mom shares: "If you need a professional, full-time snuggler, Friar is your guy! Couch or bed, he is there and ready to lean in. Friar has been a total joy to have around. Here's what we've learned: Pet-Friendly & Respectful: He is peacefully coexisting with our other senior dog and senior cat. When our dog communicates his boundaries, Friar doesn't react at all. He’s more interested in his human companions than his furry friends. Navigates Like a Pro: Friar has very limited vision, but you’d never know it by his spirit. He mapped out our apartment incredibly fast, and his hearing is superb. He knows his name and always smiles and wags his tail when you call him over. Easygoing Companion: He is great on the leash. Definitely a slow and steady walker who likes to take his time and sniff the roses. He sleeps through the night, currently not on any meds, and has a dental appointment scheduled. The Sweetest Passenger: He gets a little anxious in the car, but he isn't destructive. His favorite mode of transport? Being cradled in your arms like a baby. He doesn't mind being picked up at all! Low Noise & Good Manners: He is completely quiet, except for the occasional duet with passing firetruck sirens. Friar is a gentle, resilient soul who just wants a cozy spot to land and as many belly rubs you can offer." To meet Friar, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
Meet Cheddar! This handsome boy transferred to us from the San Diego Humane Society. Cheddar was extremely shy/fearful at transfer. He kept to himself and wanted nothing to do with the staff. He hit it off with Bugsy (adopted) who became his "emotional support dog." With Bugsy's help, coaxing Cheddar out of hiding to go play outside was made easy! In time, Cheddar was craving attention from the staff and playing with all of his new friends! Cheddar is looking for a home that loves routine as he finds great comfort in it. Taking things slow and steady with him is the key to unlocking his bouncy and happy self! Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.

Pumpkin is best guess a pom/chi mix. He is very sweet and gentle. We haven’t cat tested him, but feel like he would be good with the cats.
