Story
How this pet arrived: Mr. Krabs was brought in by a community member on 3/9/2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Mr. Krabs is a young little pup with a big need for patience and understanding. Fearful in new situations and sensitive to handling, he has slowly warmed up with time in our care. He requires a home with no children under 12 living with or frequently visiting. Consent-based petting and designated safe zones are a must. If younger children visit on occasion, a solid management plan should be in place to keep Mr. Krabs comfortable and away from stressors. With the right environment, Mr. Krabs will have the chance to build trust at his own pace! At SDHS:This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. This pet is now ready for his new home! Primary Color: White Weight: 10.2 Age: 2yrs 0mths 1wks

Story
Meet Milo! Milo was surrendered because his family is moving out of the country, and sadly, he can't join them. Milo is 10 years old and weighs 7 lbs. Soon after becoming a Frosted Face on November 6th, Milo was thankfully chosen to live in a Foster home with a very patient and understanding family. After 5 weeks, they report that Milo is slowing decompressing and adjusting to being in a new home after being left behind by his family. While Milo is adjusting to certain aspects of daily life, his foster mom and dad are not able to clean him, bathe him, or attempt any routine care that would require coming near his face. Personality & Behavior: Milo is described as a dog who prefers life on his own terms. He's made progress in allowing some basic handling, like being scooped up from the bottom with a blanket. However, he still reacts negatively to being touched on his sides or any attempt to handle his face, such as grooming. Behavior in the house: Milo gets up & down from the furniture at will, using the ramps set up by his foster family to make it easy. Sometimes, he is okay with people sitting near him, but he usually prefers to go to the other end of the couch where he's content to be part of family life from afar. Milo's other favorite spot is his secret Bat Cave where he has an unrestricted view of the family room and kitchen (see photo). Milo is house-trained and has been 100% accident-free for the past 5 five weeks in his foster home. Interactions with Other Dogs: Milo is gentlemanly when meeting other dogs on walks and enjoys sniffing and tail wagging with new acquaintances. However, he becomes more possessive at home, showing some territorial behavior toward the other dogs, though this remains at a growl level for now. Milo will need a patient and understanding adopter who is willing to work with him through his behavioral challenges. His ideal home will be one where he can continue to grow at his own pace. He is not a dog who will thrive in an environment that forces too much change too quickly. Milo does best in a peaceful setting with a safe space to retreat to when needed. A handler experienced with shy or fearful dogs, especially those who may need a slow, gradual approach to gaining trust and offering medical care, would be ideal. He'll likely benefit from continued behavior conditioning and gentle socialization. If you think you could be the right home for Milo, especially one that can provide him the time, patience, and care he needs, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org.

Story
Meet Byte! Byte entered Riverside County Animal Services as a stray, and when he wasn't claimed during the required hold period, we scooped him up on January 6th to become a Frosted Face. Is there a better way for a shelter dog to start the new year than with a safe exit and the promise of a forever home? Byte is estimated to be 15 years old, and he weighs 8 lbs. A few days after Byte arrived at FFF, he was chosen by a Foster family to live in their home until he is adopted. We are so glad Byte is getting lots of love and pampering in the comfort of a home. Byte's Foster Mom shared this great update: "Byte is an absolute sweetheart who resembles a tiny llama (thanks to his oversized ears!) Our kids have been calling him Kuzco like the Disney character who is a llama. Byte is a sweetheart of a dog who will captivate your heart with his loyalty and affection. Once he chooses his human, he'll be by their side forever, showering them with love and devotion. Although Byte can be fear-reactive and may growl when feeling uneasy, he's never shown aggression through biting. His past story remains a mystery, but it's clear he's experienced trauma, making him a slow-bloomer when it comes to affection. With patience and gentle care, Byte will reveal his loving personality, as he has with us. After gaining his trust, he's shown us the depths of his love and loyalty. Byte is a laid-back and easygoing dog who gets along with other animals. We frequently have other dogs visiting our home, ranging from large (even extra large) to small, and Byte coexists with them peacefully. He's not one to initiate interactions, but he's also not bothered by their presence (unless they’re all over him of course). At home, Byte lives with our cat, and aside from sneaking in to snack on her food, he treats her with gentle respect. Byte's neutral nature makes him a great fit for households with multiple pets. Byte is a laid-back pup who loves to take it easy. He's mostly a homebody, but enjoys occasional short walks around the neighborhood to get some fresh air and sniff out the sights. His ideal day is spent lounging around the house with his favorite humans. Byte is unable to navigate stairs, but as an 8-pound dog, he's easy to pick up and assist. Byte is content spending most of his time downstairs, where he's claimed his favorite spot on the couch as his own. He strongly dislikes being crated, so a crate-free home would be ideal. During his time in foster care, Byte has demonstrated that he's a gentle soul who gets along wonderfully with people of all ages and backgrounds. He's comfortable around women, men, kids, and even infants, making him a versatile companion. In our home, Byte lives with three children, including a VERY rambunctious 3-year-old toddler, and he's shown remarkable patience and tolerance. Byte does have boundaries and will warn him with a growl if his space is invaded, he's never bitten and simply wants to communicate his discomfort. Ideally, a household with no young children would be a perfect fit for Byte's comfort, allowing him to relax and thrive in a peaceful environment. With proper supervision and respect for his boundaries, Byte is a loving and loyal companion ready for his forever home." Be sure to watch the fun videos from Byte's foster home showing him walking nicely on leash, playing with toys, enjoying pets & belly rubs, and much more! Please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to meet this special boy and give him the loving forever home he so deserves!
