Story

Cleo is a sweet 10 year old dog who is small, 20 lbs and quiet, very friendly and not demanding. She is calm and enjoys lounging around the house moving from one doggy bed to the next--she MUST have a bed to feel safe! She is always up for a short walk and is equally as happy to come back home again. She rarely barks. Her DNA test says she is Pom, Lhasa Apso, Am Eskimo and Shih Tzu. Cleo is the perfect companion for a retiree. She will sit on your lap, but her happy place is a dog bed beside you. She gets along with other dogs , but does not know how to play. Cleo is house broken, but she must go outside every couple of hours. Incontinence medication keeps her dry at night. She was neglected for many years before we got her. As a result she has a chronic yeast infection which require a weekly bath. She also tends to get ear infections so she gets special meds. Cleo does require some work, but the rewards outweigh the work for the right home for this beautiful little girl

Merlin, a recent rescue, is a very happy, very sweet, blind, but active, blue merle, Pomeranian puppy born on 6/8/24. He is such a social little boy. He’s loves being right beside you touching you when he’s down on the ground, staying right at your feet, but he’s even happier when you are holding him in your arms. On 4/25/24 he was neutered, brought up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworms, and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. He has a very thick, luscious coat and he will be groomed when his neuter incision heals. Merlin is being fostered in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $965 which includes the $165 transport fee that we will pay to our transport company, HEARTS LLC. If you have lots of love and attention to lavish on this special little boy and would like to provide him with a safe and loving home, please complete the first step in the adoption process by filling out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. Say hello to this little slice of love named Rocket! This sweet boy was picked up by animal control as a stray. His fur was so long and matted that they initially thought he would have to be sedated to be shaved down. But he proved to be such a sweet boy and tolerated it awake. Rocket currently lives with lots of other dogs, big and small, and cats! Something to note is that while Rocket can live with cats, they should be dog-savvy as he will try to engage with them. He's the perfect blend of chill and fun, able to relax with you when home and yet excited for trips or adventures. His foster mom says he has the perfect disposition to be an emotional support animal! Rocket is fostered in GA and will be attending our Adoption Event. Save time, fill out an Application to be preapproved to adopt at our event. Preapproved adopters may schedule appointments to meet dogs on Friday, May 17th. Our pets are in CT, GA and PA foster homes. Dogs in PA may be able to come to CT prior to the event to meet adopters. Sadie is 6 years old and 13 pounds, she was surrendered by her owners because the owner travels with her job and could not take care of them.  Sadie was found on the streets with her companion Ginger who is also available for adoption.  Their original owner had rehomed them to someone who let them on the streets along with an 11 year old male chihuahua who is also available for adoption. Both have been spayed, heartworm tested negative, vaccinated and rabies and in good health.  They get along with other dogs and love to be loved on. I am posting pictures of them before and after they visited the groomer.
