Story
SPECIAL ADOPTERS REQUIRED This little beauty is Butters (Butterscotch). She’s a 2 year old Pomeranian mix (possibly a Pomsky) who weighs around 14 pounds. We don’t know if she was a puppy mill dog or just not properly cared for, but she is fearful of most people. However, Butters has made solid progress since her rescue a few months ago and we expect she will continue to do so going forward with her adopters' love and guidance. Butters is very sweet and gentle; she will seek out her foster mom’s attention and even gets animated when visited by her Adoption Counselor and her daughter; however, Butters still cannot be pet nor picked up with any consistency. She will come to us and give kisses. Because she cannot be physically handled much, she requires a fenced-in yard for toileting AND other dogs in the home whom she can follow by example. Butters is great with the other dogs in her foster home and feels most comfortable when they are around her. This cutie really enjoys playing with toys, the other dogs, and getting yummy treats. She is housebroken when she goes outside regularly. BUTTERS REQUIRES: an adult only household, a securely fenced-in yard, and at least one smaller, friendly, dog in the home who will become a buddy for Butters. Her adopter will need to be understanding, patient, loving, and experienced with fear-based dogs. She will need time to feel safe and secure, as well as adopters willing to show her most people will treat her with kindness. I know this seems like a lot, but Butters has come so far in just a few months, and with the right adopters, she will blossom into the best little companion dog. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, tested for diseases and parasites, provided vaccines, been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped.
