Pure Perfection: Meet Leo — The Sweet, Mellow Gentleman Pomeranian! Leo is an 8-year-old, 7-pound Pomeranian with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Rescued from a freezing parking lot in Lake Station, Indiana, Leo has blossomed in foster care — and according to his foster, he’s pure perfection. With great vet care, good nutrition, and lots of love, Leo has made a beautiful recovery. His coat is coming in nicely (we’re still managing a few thinning spots), and his adorable build gives him the look of a fluff ball on chicken legs. Leo previously had a grade 3 luxating patella on his left rear leg, but he has since had successful surgery and is doing wonderfully. What makes Leo so special: - 100% housebroken: He vocalizes when he needs to go out — no pee pads needed. - Yard cruiser: A fenced yard is required so he can safely explore his favorite pastime. - Co-exists well with calm dogs: Leo doesn’t engage with other dogs — he truly doesn’t care — and has been peacefully coexisting with his foster’s dogs. He gives a quiet growl if another dog gets too close to his face, so a home with small or calm, respectful dogs could work. - Cuddle bug: Loves being held and being close to his person. - Mellow & gentle: Best suited for a calm home without small children (14+). - Routine lover: Predictability helps him feel secure and relaxed. Leo can be nervous with grooming or vet handling, so he does best when muzzled for vet visits or medical care. With patient, gentle handling — and his safety gear in place — he does wonderfully and recovers quickly from stress. In everyday life, he’s loyal, easygoing, and incredibly sweet. Roman is a fun-loving, sweet and lovable ball of fluff. He has 4 brothers, but currently just lives with Remus. They enjoy playing together and stirring up trouble. Meet Hobart, a Pomeranian that was part of a rescue mission that saved 62 discarded puppy mill survivors. Given his tough start to life, Hobart spends most of his time decompressing and adjusting to a home environment. He enjoys quiet exploration with short bursts of social play with the resident dogs in his foster home. His ideal home will be one that can provide a predictable routine with patient, loving pawrents who can show him just how safe the right home can be. Hobart currently lives with five dogs (two large and three small) and two cats. He enjoys short, low-intensity play sessions with the small dogs and coexists peacefully with the larger dogs, whom he generally ignores. His interactions are brief and self-directed, and he benefits from being allowed to initiate contact at his own pace. He has also had positive interactions with the resident cats in his foster home. Hobart is most relaxed and secure when nested into soft blankets or on a heating pad. At this stage, providing quiet comfort and a sense of safety is more rewarding for him than traditional forms of play or enrichment. As his confidence grows, gentle exploration and low-pressure enrichment opportunities may become more meaningful to him. With the support of a loving family, Hobart will continue to show glimmers of adaptability and resilience that are truly rewarding to see. With the right environment and steady, compassionate care, Hobart has the potential to continue unfolding at his own pace. And what a special sight to see!
