Story
Hi, my name is Mimi and I am from Arkansas! From the foster: Mimi identifies as a middle-aged millennial lady. She doesn't want to go to breweries, meet tons of new people, or go hiking. She just wants to be entertained by the backyard chickens, complain about the goings on of neighbors, sing (bark/yell) soprano even if no one is listening, appreciates her personal space sometimes, eat food prepared juuust the way she likes (canned on top please), not be controlled (leashes are terrifying), not be told what to do or when to do it (not potty trained), have freedom (of a securely fenced yard), try to regain her confidence (hoarding trauma), have a great doctor to support her newly discovered/progressing skin & joint issues, have a hysterectomy (who needs a uterus anyway), get her teeth fixed (goodbye dental tartar appearing as supermodel-esk cheek bones), cuddle up and watch Netflix, and most importantly share all of her love and affection with someone special. From the Vet: Mimi came to us with a few health issues, but none preventing her from being a wonderful addition to her new forever family! She came from a situation under less than ideal conditions and we have found that she deals with some generalized allergies/itch. This is being managed with a daily medication that adopters should plan to take over managing with a primary care vet. She will be getting her spay and dental surgery at the end of July after which she will be in recovery (low activity and possibly soft food diet temporarily) for about 2 weeks. Following the spay and dental we will address an orthopedic issue that has worsened since coming into rescue. She has bilateral MPL's or medical luxating patella. This means her knees slide out of place and don't return to a normal position causing pain and lameness. It can be surgically corrected, so in partnership with a board-certified orthopedic surgery team, TBB will agree to cover 2 surgeries + 1 round of meds and 1 recheck as determined necessary by The BB RMT. Recovery for these surgeries will be about 4-6 weeks of administering pain meds as needed, exercise restriction, physical therapy at home, and a slow return to normal activity.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to Underdog Rescue Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Sunday, July 26th from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Hello, my name is Alma! I am a beautiful and affectionate adult female Pomsky who is a total sweetheart if I do say so myself!! I love going on leashed walks, eating treats, snuggling and giving kisses!  Fence in yard is not needed for me, but if you have it, I will keep the yard clear of all small critters who may try to come in the yard!  I do, however, need to be leashed when outside, should you not have a fence. I am a calm lady as long as I can see my family, but if they go out of my sight, I get anxious.  If they put me in that cave thing you people call a kennel/crate I will yell at them constantly until they let me out. I mean seriously, do they NOT understand that I too, am part of the family and I should be with them NOT confined in that cave!! I would love to find a family where someone is home most of the time, or someone who can help with my separation anxiety.  Shared walls are not a match for me as I have the "voice of a husky."  As I said, I don't like that kennel thing, but I still make some noise when left alone, even outside the kennel.  I don't do anything naught, except howl for you, but I wait for your return! Anyway, I know the “sit” command; I am potty trained, and I am good with larger dogs. However, I get nippy with smaller dogs and I have a high prey drive, so will chase those meowy things. I need a home with pups my size, or larger, if others are there.  Additionally, I don’t like a lot of commotion, so small kids aren't a match for me. All I dream about now is finding my furever home with a patient person who will shower me with unconditional love, keep me safe and will NOT give up on me. If you are looking for a BFF who will love you more than I love myself then I would love to meet you. I promise not only am I totally worth it, but I will give you the best kisses EVER!!! Love and kisses, Alma Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  I know you want to meet me! I will be at Pet Evolution SLP 5217 Excelsior Blvd, St Louis Park, MN 55416 (Miracle Mile Shopping Center) on Saturday 7/25, 11:00 am -1:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   *SPECIAL NEEDS: Kensi is deaf and vision impaired, please read entire bio before applying to ensure Kensi is a good match for your home**   Kensi is a fluffy little Pomsky mystery who operates very much like a majestic woodland creature—sweet, curious, and happiest when she has her kingdom (aka your home) all to herself. She may be mostly blind and deaf, but don’t let that fool you. This girl navigates life with the confidence of someone who absolutely knows where the treat jar is at all times. Kensi is a one‑dog show, and she prefers it that way. Other dogs? Hard pass. Cats? Also no. Farm animals? Surprisingly fine. Humans? Yes, please. She greets new people with friendly enthusiasm and will happily accept snacks, pets, and compliments about her fabulous coat. She enjoys wandering her yard like a tiny, fuzzy explorer, sniffing out the secrets of the universe (or at least the squirrels). She’s played with toys, enjoys treats, and trots along nicely on a leash. She’s potty trained, rides well in the car, and has just the right amount of sass to keep life interesting. Kensi is looking for a calm home where she can be the star of the show, the queen of the castle, the solo act in her own personal sitcom. She’s sweet, she’s quirky, she’s independent, and she’s ready to be someone’s loyal little sidekick—no other dogs required, thank you very much. If you’re looking for a unique, lovable companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Kensi is your girl. Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Oriole is a darling Pomeranian with a soft, beautiful coat and an even softer heart. He is incredibly devoted to his people and loves being close — whether he’s curled up right next to you, tucked into your side, or happily soaking up pets and belly rubs. He also enjoys being picked up and cuddled, making him the perfect little companion for someone who loves a snuggly dog. He does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys both gentle play and meeting new canine friends. Oriole thrives in a home where he can be part of the pack, though he will chase cats and would do best in a cat-free home. He can be sensitive to loud noises, quick movements, and overwhelming environments, so a quieter home will help him feel safe and secure. Oriole loves spending time outside and really enjoys having a fenced yard where he can run, explore, and show off his adorable morning zoomies. He also enjoys going on walks and is leash trained, though he should always be kept secure since he can slip out of a collar or harness if given the opportunity.  He is crate trained and continues to do well with structure and routine. Oriole is very food motivated, which makes him fun to work with! He does not play with toys just yet, but he’s curious and continues to grow more comfortable exploring the world around him. Thunderstorms and loud commotion can be scary for him, so he’ll do best with a patient, understanding adopter who can provide reassurance and a calm environment. Oriole is truly one of the sweetest little dogs you’ll meet — affectionate, gentle, and happiest right by your side. He’s ready to find a loving home where he can feel safe, adored, and part of the family. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.
