About Me Oh hai!  I'm Tangier! A 9-year-old Pomeranian mix with a big personality and even bigger opinions. If I'm being honest I'm the classic cranky old man—I'm the boss, and I'm not shy to let you know it! I get along well with other dogs, though. I also get along with children! That being said, they should be older, considerate kids, who respect me and my space.  I'm a mighty hunter like a good dog! Although I do have a high prey drive, so... I'm not a great match for homes with cats or small pets. Toys are my absolute favorite—especially anything that squeaks! I’ll happily spend my day supervising the household, chewing on my beloved stuffies, and offering my enthusiastic—and very vocal—commentary. I'm crate-trained and used to wearing belly bands as I continue to work on potty training. I’ll need a patient adopter who is willing to help me continue working on this area. I am a beautiful and affectionate adult female Pomsky who is a total sweetheart if I do say so myself!! I love going on leashed walks, eating treats, snuggling and giving kisses!  Fence in yard is not needed for me, but if you have it, I will keep the yard clear of all small critters who may try to come in the yard!  I do, however, need to be leashed when outside, should you not have a fence. I am a calm lady as long as I can see my family, but if they go out of my sight, I get anxious.  If they put me in that cave thing you people call a kennel/crate I will yell at them constantly until they let me out. I mean seriously, do they NOT understand that I too, am part of the family and I should be with them NOT confined in that cave!! I would love to find a family where someone is home most of the time, or someone who can help with my separation anxiety.  Shared walls are not a match for me as I have the "voice of a husky."  As I said, I don't like that kennel thing, but I still make some noise when left alone, even outside the kennel.  I don't do anything naught, except howl for you, but I wait for your return! Anyway, I know the “sit” command; I am potty trained, and I am good with larger dogs. However, I get nippy with smaller dogs and I have a high prey drive, so will chase those meowy things. I need a home with pups my size, or larger, if others are there.  Additionally, I don’t like a lot of commotion, so small kids aren't a match for me.  My foster family thinks that kids over the age of 5 would be good for me. All I dream about now is finding my furever home with a patient person who will shower me with unconditional love, keep me safe and will NOT give up on me. We took bear in after learning he was left with a family that thought they were “watching” him only to have the original owners not return. The story seemed suspicious to us and we decided to foster him out of what we thought was a really strange situation. He’s a good dog, we just never intended on keeping him, as we already have 2. Is great with kids as long as he’s not being pulled on or squished. Gets along great with other animals. We believe he’s possibly been subject to some kind of trauma or similar as he scares easily to loud noises as will retreat into hiding. Storms seem to be hard for him, he has a lot of anxiety and spends most of his time hiding under our bed until bed time when he climbs up to snuggle. Loud noises outside have caused him to bolt and we’ve been having a hard time with him running away. With two kids and two dogs already this is just not something we are capable of handling any longer. Very timid, very loving. Wants to be held and snuggled all the time.
