Story
Age: Approximately 2 years old Weight: Approximately 7lbs Dog friendly: Yes, requires companion dog in the home Cat friendly: Unknown/not tested Kid friendly: Unknown/not tested Potty trained: Working on it! He’s almost there! Crate trained: Symbol stays in a pen when his foster mom is gone. I guess my name is Symbol, but I really don't respond to it. It didn't take me long to feel comfortable in my foster home since I have my own safe space but can still see and hear everything that is going on around me. I am getting familiar with the large yard here and have even been brave enough to get some major zoomies! When I'm ready to go inside, I know where to find the door. I can go up the stairs, but I prefer to wait by my foster mom's feet so I can be carried (and get some extra snuggles this way). I have a schipperke sister here, who had a lot to say when I first arrived, but she leaves me alone now that she knows I'm not going away. This little boy is absolutely ADORABLE! And he's the calmest and quietest two year old (if that is his true age?) I have ever been around - have only heard one little squeak of excitement when I approached his space in the morning. He prefers to graze through the day rather than eat everything at once (is provided two feedings per day). By the end of the day, he has finished all of his food. He gives me lots of tail wags when it is treat time, and rolls over now to present the perfect position for belly rubs when I open the pen to his space. We have had a little "chat" about doing business outside rather than waiting until shortly after we have come inside, so this is a work in progress. At first he wasn’t super interested in toys, but now he loves to play with them! Symbol is excited to find his forever family! Adoption fee: $695

Story
Ziggy came into rescue from a hoarding situation. He does okay with other small and medium dogs but prefers to be the center of attention. He would do best in a home where he is the only dog to be treated like the prince he is meant to be. He has been completely vetted and is house/crate trained. He is fostered near Knoxville, TN but transportation is included in the adoption fee. Transportation is provided by Rescue Riders LLC to a location near you. Please email for adoption application.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hello, my name is Alma! I am a beautiful and affectionate adult female Pomsky who is a total sweetheart if I do say so myself!! I love going on leashed walks, eating treats, snuggling and giving kisses!  Fence in yard is not needed for me, but if you have it, I will keep the yard clear of all small critters who may try to come in the yard!  I do, however, need to be leashed when outside, should you not have a fence. I am a calm lady as long as I can see my family, but if they go out of my sight, I get anxious.  If they put me in that cave thing you people call a kennel/crate I will yell at them constantly until they let me out. I mean seriously, do they NOT understand that I too, am part of the family and I should be with them NOT confined in that cave!! I would love to find a family where someone is home most of the time, or someone who can help with my separation anxiety.  Shared walls are not a match for me as I have the "voice of a husky."  As I said, I don't like that kennel thing, but I still make some noise when left alone, even outside the kennel.  I don't do anything naught, except howl for you, but I wait for your return! Anyway, I know the “sit” command; I am potty trained, and I am good with larger dogs. However, I get nippy with smaller dogs and I have a high prey drive, so will chase those meowy things. I need a home with pups my size, or larger, if others are there.  Additionally, I don’t like a lot of commotion, so small kids aren't a match for me. All I dream about now is finding my furever home with a patient person who will shower me with unconditional love, keep me safe and will NOT give up on me. If you are looking for a BFF who will love you more than I love myself then I would love to meet you. I promise not only am I totally worth it, but I will give you the best kisses EVER!!! Love and kisses, Alma Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.      *SPECIAL NEEDS: Kensi is deaf and vision impaired, please read entire bio before applying to ensure Kensi is a good match for your home**   Kensi is a fluffy little Pomsky mystery who operates very much like a majestic woodland creature—sweet, curious, and happiest when she has her kingdom (aka your home) all to herself. She may be mostly blind and deaf, but don’t let that fool you. This girl navigates life with the confidence of someone who absolutely knows where the treat jar is at all times. Kensi is a one‑dog show, and she prefers it that way. Other dogs? Hard pass. Cats? Also no. Farm animals? Surprisingly fine. Humans? Yes, please. She greets new people with friendly enthusiasm and will happily accept snacks, pets, and compliments about her fabulous coat. She enjoys wandering her yard like a tiny, fuzzy explorer, sniffing out the secrets of the universe (or at least the squirrels). She’s played with toys, enjoys treats, and trots along nicely on a leash. She’s potty trained, rides well in the car, and has just the right amount of sass to keep life interesting. Kensi is looking for a calm home where she can be the star of the show, the queen of the castle, the solo act in her own personal sitcom. She’s sweet, she’s quirky, she’s independent, and she’s ready to be someone’s loyal little sidekick—no other dogs required, thank you very much. If you’re looking for a unique, lovable companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Kensi is your girl. Many of our dogs are obtained from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Oriole is a darling Pomeranian with a soft, beautiful coat and an even softer heart. He is incredibly devoted to his people and loves being close — whether he’s curled up right next to you, tucked into your side, or happily soaking up pets and belly rubs. He also enjoys being picked up and cuddled, making him the perfect little companion for someone who loves a snuggly dog. He does wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys both gentle play and meeting new canine friends. Oriole thrives in a home where he can be part of the pack, though he will chase cats and would do best in a cat-free home. He can be sensitive to loud noises, quick movements, and overwhelming environments, so a quieter home will help him feel safe and secure. Oriole loves spending time outside and really enjoys having a fenced yard where he can run, explore, and show off his adorable morning zoomies. He also enjoys going on walks and is leash trained, though he should always be kept secure since he can slip out of a collar or harness if given the opportunity.  He is crate trained and continues to do well with structure and routine. Oriole is very food motivated, which makes him fun to work with! He does not play with toys just yet, but he’s curious and continues to grow more comfortable exploring the world around him. Thunderstorms and loud commotion can be scary for him, so he’ll do best with a patient, understanding adopter who can provide reassurance and a calm environment. Oriole is truly one of the sweetest little dogs you’ll meet — affectionate, gentle, and happiest right by your side. He’s ready to find a loving home where he can feel safe, adored, and part of the family. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home. Story
Hi, my name is Kryptonite and I am from Arkansas! He is good with dogs (better with dogs his size but good either way), cats & kids. He isn’t fixed yet so he is still wearing a wrap at my house. He hasn’t been marking anymore with going out on a schedule. He refuses to walk on a leash, but loves being out in the yard. He is very quiet, haven’t heard him bark yet! He has a deformed back leg but it doesn’t impact him. He can’t do many stairs though (about 2-3 tops). He will use them to go outside but when we go to bed I carry him. He sleeps in bed with my daughter but during the day when I leave he goes in his kennel. From the Vet: Kryptonite has been evaluated by The BB Rescue Medical Team in consultation with our board certified orthopedic surgery partners. We have determined that to ensure a good outcome Kryptonite will need an orthopedic surgery on his left leg/pelvis. Generally recovery is about 4-6 weeks with return to normal activity at about 8 weeks post op. His forever home will be somewhere he can be given lots of extra love and TLC as he recovers and some brief physical therapy at home during his recovery may be recommended by the surgeon. TBB will also agree to cover his Neuter and Dental procedure approximately 4 weeks after this leg surgery to give his body time to reset between anesthetic events. Despite his deformities, he will be the perfect cuddle buddy for the right family!
