Story
Junior is a male Yorkie/Pomeranian mix, about 7 months old, and is looking for foster or foster to adopt home, where he can receive support and help with housetraining and learning that the world can be a safe and fun place. This cutie was recently surrendered to the animal shelter, along with his brother Bradley, as their owner is no longer able to care for them. Junior is neutered and current on vaccinations. Bradley and his brother Junior get along, although they do have their moments of when they both want the same toy. They do not have to be fostered or adopted together. However, we would like them to go to homes with other dogs of comparable sizes (approx. 20 to 30lbs, give or take) as we feel they would benefit from a friend to help them gain confidence and adjust to their new lives. Junior lived with a cat in his previous home but has not lived with or been around young children and we don't necessarily think he's ready for a home with young children, as he is still a bit shy and timid at times. We will provide support and guidance to help these kiddos adjust and thrive.

Adoption Donation  $ 599 Located: RI (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx    3  years old Weight:  17 lbs. Bear is a social happy guy who is crate and leash trained. Older kids would be better for this active fella! Very friendly.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website    www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  julieanncimino@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. Story
Meet Marty! Marty is approximately 7 months old, 20 lbs and he might have some Pomeranian or Spitz in his mix! He was found as a stray. In his foster home, he is working hard on house training, crate training, and leash walking. He could join households with kids 10+, and other high energy, playful dogs. He has not been exposed to cats. No apartments, please! His foster says, `Marty is an adorable boy. He absolutely loves affection and is so excited when I walk in the room. He just can`t get enough loving. He`s doing great with house training, only a few accidents, and is getting some crate time and working on leash so he will be ready for his new family. He loves to play with toys and chase balls. It`s so entertaining to watch him bark at his food bowl when it`s empty and paw at it trying to turn it over and over. Marty will bring a lot of joy to his new family.`He is available for adoption in Worcester or Hopkinton by appointment. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.-Dogs may not be given as gifts or surprises.-Please thoughtfully discuss with your entire household the physical, safety, financial and emotional responsibilities of a dog BEFORE applying to adopt.- More information about our adoption process, application and adoption fees can be found at browndogcoalition.com

Story
Meet Clancy is you want a walking buddy look no further. Clancy does not need doggie day care or a fenced yard he just needs you to walk him as many times a day as you want. He would walk to New England to find his forever family if we let him. He see's his leash and he is ready to GO. He was brought to the shelter because his gorgeous coat requires upkeep. His previous owners couldn't keep up with his grooming needs. To stay handsome and tangle-free, he will need regular visits to the groomer. He is currently crate trained and loves a big crate with lots of space to hang out. He is fostered with other dogs of different ages and sized and he has had no issues. He does not seem to need a dog around as long as he has his person. He has not lived with children that we know of so we would suggest children over 7. He is also not cat tested. Clancy is very loving and after the long walks he will curl up with you and be your best friend. So please put your walking shoes on and let Clancy lead the way to all kinds of fun adventures.Name: ClancyBreed: Poodle/Pom  (Breed mix is not guaranteed-no DNA testing done).Sex: MaleAge: 2 years 1 month (estimated as of 7/11/26)Weight: 12 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00  (includes transport fee when applicable)                       $100-150 additional mandatory quarantine fee for Massachusetts residents.Location of dog currently:    Tennessee IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption veterinary costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age-appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England, if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse, whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
Ekko & Mimi's Story Ekko (black and tan, male, 15 lbs) and Mimi (tan & white, female, 11 lbs) are an adorable bonded pair looking for a home where they can stay together forever! These sweet pups are house trained, crate trained, and have an easygoing, medium energy level that makes them a great fit for many different homes. They absolutely love people and enjoy playing with kids of all ages. Friendly and social, they are not fearful or reactive and have wonderfully happy personalities. Their favorite pastime is romping around the backyard together and playing with their small stuffed toys before settling in for some relaxation time. Ekko and Mimi are easy to walk on leash and could do well in an apartment or home environment as long as they get their daily exercise and playtime. Theyre relatively quiet overall, though they may bark a little when they see activity outside the fence — but once outside, they are calm and content explorers. Like many playful dogs, they do enjoy chasing cats, so a cat-free home would be best for this duo. If youre looking for two loving companions who already adore each other and are ready to bring double the joy into your life, Ekko and Mimi may be the perfect match! Ekko and Mimi are both about 8-10 yrs old. They are currently being fostered in Houston, TX and are available locally or out of state to the Northeast. If adopted out of state, they would come to their new home via professional transport. Email info@joyrides.org to request an application!
