Story
Meet Athena! She is the sweetest baby. She is great with dogs, cats, and kids. I've had her since she was 10 weeks old. I was diagnosed with cancer a month after getting her. After multiple surgeries and treatments, my prior bad health has declined even more. I kept her through it all planning to train her and be able to be active with her afterwards. I was not aware just how bad I would decline afterwards. I love her so much!! I am not able to take her for walks, play with her outside, or stay dedicated to training her which breaks my heart for her. Because of this she is only partially potty trained. She isn't a "yapper" she only barks when she's wrestling with other dogs. She loves playing with other dogs but prefers to get the attention, so she would do best either as the only dog but have "friends" to play with or live with other dogs that aren't jealous for attention. She is 8.4lbs but has the heart of a husky. She loves spending time outside and LOVES the snow.

Story
Meet Harrington (Harry)! Harrington is an 8-month-old Husky mix weighing about 60 pounds, and he's everything you love about a teenage Husky—funny, goofy, affectionate, and full of personality. With his striking blue eyes, long legs, and playful spirit, Harry turns heads wherever he goes. Like any young Husky, Harry enjoys staying busy. He loves carrying toys around, digging treasures out of the toy basket, batting them across the room, and occasionally showing off a few zoomies. The good news? Once he's had a chance to burn off some energy, he's surprisingly mellow and happy to relax with his people. Harry is house trained and has done well having free roam in his foster home. He walks nicely on leash and is learning his basic commands. He's a smart boy who enjoys learning and responds well to guidance. When his foster home's resident dogs correct him, he takes it in stride and quickly adjusts his behavior. In fact, he adores other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to play with, though it's not required. One of Harry's favorite things is spending time with his people. He's a true cuddlebug who loves hugs, bedtime pets, and being close to his family. While he'll happily hop on the bed to say goodnight, he usually chooses a cool spot on the bathroom tile when it's time to sleep. Harry is still polishing up a few puppy manners, including resisting the temptation of unattended people food and sharing his beloved stuffed toys. He's making great progress and approaches life with an eager-to-please attitude. His ideal home will understand that Huskies are intelligent, active dogs who thrive with daily exercise, mental enrichment, and companionship. Harry doesn't need to run marathons, but he will appreciate regular walks, playtime, and opportunities to use that smart Husky brain. All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee is $250. Story
💙 Meet Duvall Duvall is a striking young Husky/Great Pyrenees mix with unforgettable blue eyes, a gorgeous blonde coat, and an even bigger personality. At just over two years old, he's intelligent, affectionate, athletic, and looking for a family that understands what it means to share life with an energetic working-breed dog. This handsome boy absolutely loves his people. Whether you're heading out for a hike, working in the yard, teaching him something new, or relaxing after a busy day, Duvall wants to be part of whatever you're doing. He's happiest when he has both a job to do and people to love. Like many young working breeds, Duvall isn't a dog who's content with a quick walk around the block. His ideal home will provide daily opportunities for physical exercise and mental enrichment. Duvall loves walks, hiking adventures, training sessions, puzzle toys, scent games, and more. Duvall also enjoys other dogs—but he's still polishing his social skills. His play style is enthusiastic, physical, and sometimes a bit overwhelming to older or more timid dogs. He would do best with confident, well-socialized dogs his size or larger that enjoy active play and are comfortable setting appropriate canine boundaries. Any introductions to resident dogs should be done slowly and thoughtfully, allowing everyone time to adjust and build positive relationships. Rushing introductions or expecting instant friendships simply isn't fair to Duvall or his future canine companions. Because of his intelligence, energy, and size, Duvall is looking for adopters who are committed to continuing his training and helping him succeed. Consistency, structure, and positive reinforcement will go a long way with this eager-to-learn boy. Experience with working breeds is a plus, but more important is a willingness to invest the time and energy needed to help him thrive. A securely fenced yard would be wonderful, but it's not a substitute for exercise, enrichment, and engagement. Duvall is looking for a family that sees their dog as a true partner in life's adventures—not just a pet who spends most of the day entertaining himself. Duvall has already experienced more transitions than any young dog should. What he needs now is a family committed to giving him the time, patience, guidance, and outlets he deserves. In return, you'll gain a loyal, loving, intelligent companion who will happily join you on every adventure for years to come. If you're ready for an active, devoted best friend and understand the unique needs of a young working-breed dog, Duvall can't wait to meet you. 💙🐾 P.S. Duvall is eligible for our Foster-to-Adopt program, which means you can take some time to get to know him in your home before finalizing the adoption.
