Akela is a 3 year old Alaskan Husky Mix who weighs 49 pounds. He is heartworm negative and a happy energetic dog! Akela is one of our newer adoptable dogs and we are still working to learn more about his personality and what his favorite things are. As we get to know him, we will continue to update his profile. What we can already tell you is that Akela deserves all the love in the world and we can’t wait for the right person to see just how special he is. If you’ve been thinking about adding a new four-legged family member, we’d love for you to come meet Akela. You might just find your new best friend! Available for adoption at Arlington Animal Services Shelter Address: 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd. Arlington, TX 76018 Shelter Hours: Tuesday- Friday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. At Arlington Animal Services, every dog is individually evaluated by multiple members of our experienced team. When a dog is placed into our adoption program, it means they have shown friendly behavior toward people and other dogs, and no negative behaviors have been observed in our shelter environment. If you already have a dog at home, we encourage you to bring them to the shelter for an official meet-and-greet to help ensure a smooth and happy introduction.

He loves playing with other dogs and is learning how to roughhouse like a champ. With plenty of energy to burn, he’s always up for adventure, but he also knows how to relax and stay calm, especially in his kennel.He’s growing fast and has outgrown his small puppy days—definitely no Jack Russell Terrier size anymore! Like most young pups, Dundee is still working on his chewing habits, but with the right guidance, he’s sure to shine.Dundee would be an amazing companion for an active family looking for a playful and loving pup to join their pack!
