Story
Gia will be ready for adoption in June 2026 Meet Gia 💕 Gia’s story starts with strength. This sweet mama was owner surrendered after needing an emergency C-section to bring her four beautiful puppies into the world. Instead of giving up, she leaned in—and has been nothing short of incredible ever since. Now that her babies are growing, it’s finally her turn to be cared for, loved on, and spoiled the way she deserves. Gia is the definition of a cuddle bug. She lives for being close to her people—whether that’s curled up on the couch, soaking up attention, or making you laugh with her silly, attention-loving personality. She’s affectionate, a little bit of a ham, and will absolutely remind you if she thinks another dog is getting more love than her (don’t worry—it’s adorable, not dramatic). She’s friendly with kids, does well with other dogs, and would likely be just fine with cats too. She especially loves playtime—tug-of-war is her favorite, so a playful pup sibling would be a huge bonus. Gia is also great in the car and enjoys being part of whatever you’re doing. She’s potty trained, crate trained, and learning her routine after raising her pups. Like many new moms, she’s still getting back into the swing of things, but she’s doing great and will continue to thrive with consistency. A few things to know about Gia: She can be a little shy at first, but food and kindness win her over quickly She’s working on her leash manners and will need gentle guidance on walks She prefers not to be left alone for long—she truly loves being around her people She doesn’t jump on furniture easily, but she’s happiest when she’s invited up for snuggles Gia does have some mild breathing challenges, which is common for her breed. While she’s not considered special needs, her future family should be mindful of overexertion—especially in the heat. A vet has recommended nose and soft palate surgery down the line to help her breathe more comfortably. After everything she’s been through, Gia is ready for a home where she can just be a dog again—loved, safe, and part of the family. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will happily be your shadow (and your couch buddy), Gia might just be your girl. ✨ Ready to meet Gia? Story
Pending medical vetting and should be ready in early July 2026 for adoption **Meet Allen!** Allen is a young fawn pug who wandered into the right garage and straight into rescue. Found near Litchfield and Statler in Surprise with no collar or microchip, this sweet boy appeared well cared for and freshly bathed, leading us to believe he may have become separated from his family. Despite efforts to locate an owner, no one came forward, and Allen is now looking for a forever home. We estimate Allen to be around 7 months old, though his age will be confirmed by our veterinary team. What we do know is that he is a happy, social puppy who loves everyone he meets. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, enjoys children, and has a playful personality that shines through in everything he does. One of Allen's favorite activities? Playing in the hose water! This goofy little guy is always ready for fun and brings joy wherever he goes. Like most puppies, he is still learning the ropes and is not yet potty trained, so his future family should be prepared to continue his training and provide the structure and patience every young dog needs. Allen is sweet, friendly, and eager to be part of a family. If you're looking for a young companion with lots of love to give and plenty of adventures ahead, Allen may be your perfect match.

Story
Pending medical vetting and should be ready in early July 2026 for adoption **Meet Sheyla!** Sheyla is a 10-year-old pug with a heart as big as her adorable smile. After spending eight years with her family, she recently joined Arizona Pug Party & Rescue when her elderly owner moved into housing that could not accommodate pets. Now, this sweet senior girl is looking for a loving home to spend her golden years. Sheyla is affectionate and enjoys being close to her people. While she can be a little reserved with strangers at first, she quickly warms up and is curious once she gets to know you. She has lived successfully with both dogs and cats and generally prefers a peaceful, low-key lifestyle. This lovely lady is potty trained, crate trained, and accustomed to being a free-roaming indoor companion. She is currently working on losing some extra weight and is eating Royal Canin Weight Control food. Because of her size, she prefers leisurely strolls and plenty of couch time. Sheyla does have some mild food guarding, so meals should be managed appropriately and she would do best with a family that understands how to feed dogs separately when needed. She can also be vocal when she hears noises outside and may bark to alert you to visitors or neighborhood activity. Loud noises like thunderstorms, fireworks, and vacuum cleaners can make her nervous. If you're looking for a loyal companion who enjoys cuddles, naps, and simply being near her people, Sheyla may be the perfect addition to your family. She deserves a soft place to land and all the love a senior pug queen could ask for.

Story
🐾 Meet Rupert: Professional Cuddler, Part-Time Velcro Pug 🐾 Rupert is the kind of pug who believes there is absolutely no reason for you to go anywhere in the house without him. Need to work? Rupert will supervise from a nearby dog bed. Need to relax? Rupert has already claimed your lap. Need to sleep? Rupert would very much like to discuss sharing the bed. Estimated to be around 9 years old, Rupert has mastered the art of living his best life: naps, snacks, cuddles, repeat. He's a low-key guy who prefers leisurely strolls over adventures and would happily trade a game of fetch for a cozy blanket and quality time with his favorite humans. His foster family describes him as an absolute cuddle bug who wants nothing more than to be close to his people. Rupert hands out kisses freely and has perfected the adorable pug maneuver of squeezing himself into the tiniest available space next to you. While Rupert can coexist with other dogs, he's not looking for a wrestling partner or a busy pack of canine roommates. He'd much rather be someone's loyal sidekick. He can be protective of his food, so mealtime is best served separately, and he's currently brushing up on his potty manners with a little help from a belly band. Rupert's dream home? A quieter household with people who understand that senior pugs are pure magic. Someone looking for a devoted companion, a couch buddy, a Netflix partner, and a shadow that snores. If you've ever thought, "I wish I had a pug attached to me at all times," Rupert is ready to make that dream come true. ❤️ Warning: Rupert may cause excessive smiling, reduced personal space, and an irresistible urge to cancel plans and stay home cuddling your pug. Selective with other dogs OK with older kids 10 years and up

Story
Meet Starsky ⭐🐾 Some dogs walk into your life cautiously. Starsky? He walked in giving kisses immediately. 🥹 This sweet boy is the definition of a pug lover’s pug — affectionate, goofy, people-obsessed, and happiest when he’s curled up next to his humans getting belly rubs. At around 6 years old, Starsky has settled beautifully into foster care and quickly made himself right at home. His days are made up of naps, backyard patrols, exploring on walks, following his people everywhere they go, and dramatically flopping onto his back demanding attention. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs, loves meeting new people, and has a medium energy level that makes him the perfect balance of playful and relaxed. Starsky does have some separation anxiety tendencies and would do best in a home where someone is around more often than not. He’s looking for stability, companionship, and a family that understands pugs don’t just want to be near you… they want to BE you. 😂 He’s not crate trained and seems nervous with confinement, but he sleeps great through the night curled up at the foot of the bed like he’s been there forever. More than anything, Starsky is just an incredibly loving, adaptable little guy who wants a forever family willing to stick by him the same way he’ll stick by them. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow with a goofy personality and endless love to give, Starsky might just be your perfect match. 🖤 Apply to adopt Starsky through Arizona Pug Party & Rescue today! 🐾 Link to application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZPR/Dog
