Story
Welcome to our newest foster pup, Doug the wonder puggle!  At 3 years old and 24 lbs, this little dreamboat loves everyone and is just delightful to hang with.  Doug has great house-manners,  he loves daily walks to do his business outside every time! I can imagine him learning to play fetch and running with kids in a nice backyard as well as couch-snuggling watching TV at night! He checks all the boxes for an all-around great companion.  Neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, Doug is medically cleared for adoption.... Do you have that perfect home for this perfect boy?   Applications accepted at www.helpadogsmile.org from adopters in the metro Phoenix area.  The application is not a commitment to adopt, it is a tool used by the Rescue to place each doggy in the best home.  Once received, the application will be reviewed by the foster home who will be happy to chat further about Doug.   Doug's adoption fee of $350 helps with medical expenses of the rescue.  Thank you  and we hope to hear from you soon. Woof Woof from Doug!April 9, 2026, 9:59 am

Story
Meet Frankie 🖤🐾 Frankie is still waiting… and honestly? We’re a little shocked. This one-eyed heartthrob is a certified ladies’ man with rugged good looks (that leg scar? very “mysterious backstory”), a resilient spirit, and a personality that sneaks up on you in the best way. Frankie didn’t have an easy start, and because of that he takes a minute to trust — especially with new people. But once you’re in? You’re in. His tail starts wagging. He leans in for pets. He gets goofy and silly and lets his guard down in the sweetest way. He loves his crate (his safe space), appreciates routine, and thrives when he knows what to expect. Frankie is more of an independent guy around other dogs — he’s not looking to join a frat party, he’s looking for his person. And yes… we need to talk about his athletic ability. Frankie can clear a 3.5-foot fence like he’s training for the Olympics, so a secure yard (6 ft+) or supervised outdoor time is a must. This boy has hops. What Frankie really needs is a calm, patient home — ideally with a confident, dog-savvy woman who understands that trust is built, not rushed. He bonds deeply. He loves hard. And when he chooses you, it’s something special. No applications yet, and we truly don’t get it. Frankie is goofy, loyal, resilient, and ready for his soft landing. If you’ve got patience, a secure yard, and a heart big enough for a one-eyed gentleman with main character energy… Frankie is your guy. 🖤

Story
Thor 4 Years Old | Neutered | Vaccinated | Ready for His Forever Home Thor is a sensitive, gentle soul who is still learning that the world is safe. He is currently settling into foster care and will need time to fully decompress and build trust in his forever home. Thor can be skittish and does not enjoy being picked up or put into a harness. Slow introductions, calm handling, and patience are essential for him. ✨ Thor’s Highlights: • Neutered & vaccinated • Crate trained • Friendly with other dogs • No resource guarding • Moderate anxiety — needs time to settle Thor is partially potty trained and benefits from a predictable routine. He does best with a patient adopter who understands that trust is earned gradually. He may struggle initially, but once he feels secure, his gentle nature begins to show. Thor isn’t a “plug and play” dog — he’s a heart dog in the making. The right home will give him space to unravel, adjust, and become the companion he’s meant to be.

Story
✨ Tiny Boy. Big Heart. Meet Tomasso. ✨ Male | 3–6 years | Fawn If you’ve ever wanted a little best friend who acts like you are the greatest thing to ever happen to him… allow us to introduce Tomasso. He doesn’t just sit next to you — he commits. Couch time? Attached. Bedtime? Already claimed his spot. Walk to the kitchen? Your loyal assistant has clocked in. 💛 Professional Snuggler Status: ELITE. Toys? He’s not impressed. Zoomies? Not currently on the calendar. Being near you? Full-time job. 🏡 House Manners? Yes Please. Tomasso is housetrained, crate trained, calm in the car, and totally fine when left alone. No dramatic performances when you grab your keys. He just waits for his person to come back. He’s currently dining on Hill’s Science Diet Adult like the distinguished gentleman he is. Grass is still something he’s warming up to (the patio is his comfort zone), but he’s making steady, brave progress. 🐶 Let’s Talk Food (Real Talk, No Drama). Tomasso likes clear boundaries around meals and treats. He can get protective of food around both humans and other dogs if things feel busy or chaotic. The solution? Simple — feed him separately and give him his own calm space at treat time. Because of that, he’d do best in an adult home or one without little kids in full snack tornado mode. Mealtime structure = happy Tomasso. 💫 His Personality Gentle. Shy but deeply loving. Snuggly. Resilient. He may have had a rough start, so loud noises can still make him a little unsure. But when he trusts you? It’s intentional. It’s deep. It’s loyal-for-life energy. Tomasso isn’t the loud, center-of-the-party dog. He’s the quiet, bonds-with-his-person dog. If your home is calm, loving, and heavy on cozy evenings… Tomasso is ready to make it complete. 💛🐾

Story
Uso is a 1-year-old fawn boy weighing around 20–25 lbs, and he is all fun, all the time 😄🐾 This goofy, playful guy is full of energy and personality. He loves to be around other dogs and thrives in a social environment—he’s friendly, playful, and always ready to make a new best friend. If you’ve got a pup at home looking for a buddy, Uso is your guy 🙌 He’s potty trained and doing great in a home environment, and while he’s still working on crate training (he may protest a bit at night), he settles in and continues to make progress like the smart boy he is. On leash, Uso is eager and excited—he’s ready for adventures and loves being out and about. Car rides aren’t quite his favorite yet (he can be a little restless and nervous), but with time and consistency, he’ll build confidence. Uso is the kind of dog who needs engagement—whether that’s playtime, toys, or a dog sibling. If he gets bored, he may find his own “projects” (like investigating that case of water you left on the floor 😅), so an active home that can keep him busy is key. And fair warning… this boy has a THICK coat and sheds like a champ—so lint rollers will be your new best friend 🤍 💙 Uso’s Perfect Home: • Another playful dog is a big plus • An active home that can keep him engaged • Someone ready for fun, energy, and a little bit of mischief Uso is the total package—funny, social, snuggly, and full of life. If you’re looking for a dog who will keep your days full of laughter and your home full of love…
