Story
Note Cricket is heartworm positive and will need an adoptive home willing to see her through treatment, which is paid for by TRU. That being said, her foster calls her a "busy body", always wanting to be in everyone else's business! She is a lover, playful, determined. She should be the only dog in her forever home. Not tested with cats either.

DISCLOSURE: The adoptable pets in our program are still in the care and custody of owners who wish to re-home their pet. Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Grady is a pug/boston terrier/boxer, is 5yo, weighs 32lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped.  Grady knows 'sit' and 'off'; he is kept in a gated area with his bed during the day; he is kept in a gated area with his bed and blankets at night; he has a hard time sitting still during car rides.  Grady is fed Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials Shredded Blend Turkey and Rice Formula High Protein Dry Dog Food.  Grady's guardian adds:  "He loves to sit on the couch with you and snuggle.  He is not a dominant dog.  He has always been with another dog to play with, but we feel he would also be ok as a single dog.  Does well with puppy interaction." Grady's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome him:   "Grady is a bit of an anxious guy.  He has a hard time relaxing. When it is just my husband, he will be calm and relaxed.   When I come home Grady paces, whines and can’t relax.   His anxiety and my husbands increasing anxiety over the years no longer are compatible.   We have tried training and currently have him on Reconcile for anxiety."   Grady's guardian offers a brief a medical history:  Grady's guardian administers 3 medications for various ailments; for anxiety, Reconcile; for itchy skin, Apoquel; for seasonal allergies, Zyrtec." Grady's guardian states the following regarding children:  Grady lives with children (ages 7, 9, and 10), so his guardian recommends his living with children, stating:  "Initially, he barks and is very excited.  Over time he calms down and tries to sit beside/wants to be petted". Grady's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Grady lives with a dog, so his guardian recommends his living with dogs, stating "Grady is reactive to other dogs.  He will bark during walks". Grady's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Grady doesn't live with nor otherwise has interacted with cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats. Grady's guardian describes him as: Playful Likes to be touched Always at your side Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Separation anxiety Grady's guardian describes his ideal future home: "Grady needs a home with a yard where he can run and play fetch—he’s amazing at it!  Also would be great for someone who is active that would take him for walks.  He would need someone that allows couch cuddling.  Would not be a good fit for someone with anxiety.  Needs to be with someone that can be patient with his barking at the Amazon delivery man." You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well hellloww world Alvin here.  I'm here with my sissy Ava.  We came from down south and now mom says we are northern implants not sure what that means but ok I'm learning new stuff every day.  We have lots of friends here at the ranch.  We have doxi friends that are a little older than us and mom says to not bark like they do its 'annoying' I'm not sure why she thinks that but I tried it and I thought it was rather fun so we do it when moms not in the room but somehow she always knows and she comes out of her office and gives us 'the look' hmmmm I wonder how she knows??!!!Ava is my bestest friend and we would LOVE to stick together.  Mom says she will find us a furever home with a fenced yard so we can run and play like we do here!  We aren't 'fixed' yet so mom says as soon as we are old enough to have that done we will be ready for our new home.  I didn't know we was broken but I guess I just gotta trust the lady....  I thought maybe we could stay here but she says we will get a home where we can be the center of someones world.  Humans talk funny I have NO clue what that even means!  If you want to meet us fill out an application on 2ndChance4LifeRescue.org site NOT petfinder or anywhere else and we will check it out.  If we think you might be 'our person' we will be in touch for a date :)REQUIRES A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!May 2, 2024, 12:27 pm

Story
Bandit, came to us along with Buddy and Hershey because their owner had stage 4 lung cancer and could no longer care for them. She's super scared and sweet and you just want to help her. The man kept these dogs in crates for seven years. Everything is over stimulation for her. Overall she’s doing very well considering her entire world has been erased and there's so much around new to get used to. She is very very sweet. I believe she’s half bull dog—she has the bull dog snort. She weighs 38 lbs. She lived with other dogs in her life ---both males and females and she lived another male and a cat in her foster home. At first she wasn’t overly friendly with the dogs here but has adjusted after a slow introduction. Bandit is spayed, up to date with vaccinations, and microchipped. She is also housetrained. She is also missing one eye, which causes her no problem. If interested in Bandit contact applications@boxertransfer.org
