You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :)When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :)Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us!Well hellloww world Alvin here.  I'm here with my sissy Ava.  We came from down south and now mom says we are northern implants not sure what that means but ok I'm learning new stuff every day.  We have lots of friends here at the ranch.  We have doxi friends that are a little older than us and mom says to not bark like they do its 'annoying' I'm not sure why she thinks that but I tried it and I thought it was rather fun so we do it when moms not in the room but somehow she always knows and she comes out of her office and gives us 'the look' hmmmm I wonder how she knows??!!!Ava is my bestest friend and we would LOVE to stick together.  Mom says she will find us a furever home with a fenced yard so we can run and play like we do here!  We aren't 'fixed' yet so mom says as soon as we are old enough to have that done we will be ready for our new home.  I didn't know we was broken but I guess I just gotta trust the lady....  I thought maybe we could stay here but she says we will get a home where we can be the center of someones world.  Humans talk funny I have NO clue what that even means!  If you want to meet us fill out an application on 2ndChance4LifeRescue.org site NOT petfinder or anywhere else and we will check it out.  If we think you might be 'our person' we will be in touch for a date :)REQUIRES A FENCED YARDVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not.   A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop!July 19, 2024, 11:57 am

Story
Rosie (44176) is a pretty 2 year old female Pug. She was given up by her previous owner for not getting along with their other dogs. Since being here at the shelter, Rosie has done well with dogs her size and that are friendly, but not overly obnoxious. It is required to bring your dog(s) in to meet Rosie if interested in adopting her to make sure they would be a good match. She coexisted well with the cats in her previous home. Rosie cannot be adopted out to a home with an electric fencing as she will go through it if she sees something that intrigues her on the other side. Please give the shelter a call first to check on Rosie’s application status. You can visit Rosie during our Animal Viewing hours below to meet and apply on her. Location: Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center 8576 Davis Rd Columbia, MD 21045 You can call first to see if this pet is still available: 410-313-2780 Option 0.
