Story
Kelvin (aka "Cowboy Kelvin" or "Kelvey") is a sweet and playful Chug (a Chihuahua-Pug mix). He is around 8 years old with a tan body and little bit of frosty face. Crate-trained and a wonderful commute copilot, he’s ready to join a loving, single-dog home where he can be your devoted adventure buddy and couch companion. Kelvin is completing heartworm treatment and needs to remain on crate rest for 4 weeks after adoption. He is looking for an adopter who can continue his follow-up care and bring him to get neutered when all healthy! If you are looking for a faithful friend who’s up for road trips and cozy evenings, consider Cowboy Kelvin! Our Editors notes : he really calms down when he chews on bones 🦴 and we do actually believe he could handle another dog in a house , perhaps another pug.

Story
Meet Gucci, a wonderful, purebred, one-year old, male pug. He is truly the best ❤️ We adopted him last January from a breeder here in NC and unfortunately, our situation has changed and we need to find him a new home. It is extrememly important to us that Gucci is rehomed to a safe, happy home where he will thrive. Gucci is HIGH energy and will take as much attention as you will give him :) He loves kids and other dogs. I image he would also get along well with cats, but he hasn't yet had the opportunity. An ideal home for him would be one where humans are home most of the time and can give him lots and lots of love and attention. All he wants is to be with his people! Gucci is microchipped, neutered last October and fully up-to-date on all his shots. Interview and home-visit required. Please reach out with any questions! This dog has so much personality, it's hard to hard to express in words!!

Story
*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Sweetheart - there’s truly no better word to describe Patches. She is beautiful inside and out. This calm and gentle girl is friendly, cuddly, loving, and wonderfully well mannered—really the whole package. Patches rarely barks, waits politely for her meals and treats (even when the other dogs are losing their minds), and gets along beautifully with everyone she meets. She instantly befriended both the big dogs and the puppy in her foster home, and she greets every new person like a long lost friend. Patches enjoys her walks, chasing a ball, and exploring the yard, but her absolute favorite thing in the world is simply being with her person. Her happiest moments are spent snuggled up beside you; add a little petting or a belly rub, and she melts into pure bliss. Being around her has a way of making you feel calmer and happier too. Patches does well in her crate, but after just a few days in her foster home, she earned the freedom to roam for over four hours while no one was home. She didn’t get into anything she shouldn’t and had no potty accidents—a perfect little lady. At night, she prefers to sleep with or near someone rather than in her crate, and she snoozes peacefully until morning (usually when you get up). In every way, Patches is a joy. Make an appointment to meet her today!

Story
Jax is a sweet puggle who has been through a lot of late, but shows no negative signs. He has had to move homes twice in his senior years. Jax had TPLO surgery in 2024 but moves well and is feisty for a 10 year old dog! He loves to cuddle in bed and gets along great with other dogs. He would do best in a home with someone who wants to lavish him with love and have a snoozing buddy for a good nap. Apply for Jax at apply.neshamarescue.org

Story
This handsome pug mix is the definition of low-key living. Quiet by nature and endlessly chill, Hugo is perfectly content to nap his way from morning to afternoon to evening without much fuss. If you’re looking for a calm, steady companion instead of a party animal, Hugo is your guy. Loud noises and chaos? Not really his vibe. Hugo has done wonderfully in a peaceful home where he can enjoy the steady presence of his favorite people nearby. He doesn’t ask for much — just a cozy spot to snooze and a calm environment to feel safe. He’s happy entertaining himself with plushy toys and even a pillow or two (interior decorating, but make it pug). And while he may be mellow, there is one thing that absolutely melts him…Belly rubs. They are his weakness, his love language, his everything. If your home leans more “quiet coffee mornings” than “wild dance party,” Hugo might just be your perfect match.

Story
Mr. Pugsley is 9 years old, he is fully up to date on shots. He has a yearly dental cleaning every year, he has had no dental extractions and has all his teeth. He is neutered, house trained and crate trained. He has been a healthy weight his whole life and has a more pronounced nose, so he doesn’t have any breathing issues. He has no current medical issues. We welcomed twins into our family and can no longer take care of him the way he deserves. He doesn’t get the love and attention that he needs, and he has started growling at our children. He unfortunately just lays in his bed all day and has to wear a bark collar to prevent him from waking the children. He has never bitten or harmed anyone. We are a military family and will be moving 4 times in the next 2 years. We want to rehome him because he deserves so much more and we can’t give it to him. We want to find a home that will give him the stability, love and attention that he deserves every single day.

Story
Lulu is a sensitive and playful 5-year-old kid lady. This girl serves big dog energy in a pocket-sized 23 pounds. Lulu can be slow to warm to new people but was obsessed with her foster family within a couple days of being out of the shelter. She gets along well with most dogs with appropriate intros - she lives, chills and parties with two playful senior dogs who are larger than her. Lulu loves toys— no, she is OBSESSED with toys. She will disembowel them if they aren’t the kind for tough chewers, but she has so much fun doing it that you really can’t blame her. She has tried to pick up a few non-toys in her mouth but she is quick to listen to redirection. This girl also loves hugs and prolonged eye contact so we’re hoping she finds a family who is down to cuddle.
