Shipmate (Shippy): 13 years old, 18 lbs, UTD on all vaccinations. Housebroken, crate trained and good with other dogs and people. Loves absolutely anyone that will love him. He does well with dogs, however he’ll be vocal when another dog gets to be too much. Well behaved, currently fostered on a property with goats and chickens and can be easily called off either. He is pretty quiet. He has some resource guarding with other dogs but no issues with guarding and people. Allows handling well. In the yard, this spunky little critter likes to be wherever you are. He doesn’t play with toys but loves to chew an antler. He’s enthusiastic for anything and anyone that gives him attention. He has a slight hearing problem but not unexpected at his age. He’s looking for a forever friend to live out the rest of his days.A little history: I took in Shippy and another dog (not a bonded pair) from a woman who was going out of the country temporarily. Now she is unable to return and I cannot keep them.

She has an upper respiratory infection or early pneumonia, and bilateral ear infections. We are concentrating on making her well. Its hard to learn their personality with they come in sick. Ava was bulled in her last home so she fearful of other dogs. She would be best as an only dog or a home with an older dog her size that will give her space.  Ava will be spayed, microchipped, up to date on routine shots, heartworm negative and current on prevention prior to adoption. Fostered in Virginia Beach, VA adoption fee is $300.00  Pugs most be indoor dogs.
