Meet Stella — a 1 year old, 29 lb Pug/Beagle mix with a heart full of love, a spirit full of resilience, and the sweetest smile you’ll ever see. Quick Facts: Name: Stella Breed: Pug/Beagle Mix Age: 1 year old Weight: 29 lbs. House-Trained: Almost! Crate-Trained: Yes (but can be scared of the crate at first) Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not yet tested Good with Kids: Has not met kids yet – but would likely do fine with older, respectful kids Energy Level: Medium to high, very playful Fence Required: No – must be leashed if no fence About Stella’s Breed: Our best guess is that Stella is a Pug/Beagle mixed breed. A Pug/Beagle mix — often called a Puggle — is known for being friendly, playful, and affectionate, blending the Beagle’s lively curiosity with the Pug’s charming, people‑oriented nature. They tend to be social, energetic dogs who enjoy being part of family life and make wonderful companions for both adults and kids. An ideal home for a Puggle is one that offers regular exercise, mental stimulation, and plenty of human interaction. They thrive with families who enjoy playtime, walks, and a dog who wants to be involved in everything. Because they’re adaptable and people‑loving, they do well in many living situations as long as they get attention, activity, and a warm lap to curl up on! All About Stella: Stella’s story began with heartbreak. She was found alone in the woods, too thin and looking like a young mama who had recently had puppies. With the help of CrisisDogsNC and a professional trapper, she was safely brought in — but no puppies were ever found. Despite everything she endured, Stella has blossomed beautifully in her foster home. She’s gaining weight, gaining confidence, and showing everyone just how joyful, affectionate, and playful she truly is. This girl is practically a puppy herself — she loves to run, play fetch, chase balls, and chew on her toys (bones are her favorite!). She has a fun mix of dominant and submissive play styles and absolutely adores people. Even with her rough past, she greets her foster family with nonstop tail wags and a happy heart! Stella was initially scared of the crate, but she’s learning and improving every day. She’s also doing well with potty training and is wonderfully easy to live with — laid back, eager to please, and quick to understand gentle guidance. She would thrive in a home where she can curl up next to her people, have someone toss a ball for her, and receive plenty of reassurance that she is safe and loved. A yard or space to run would make her happiest, along with a family who appreciates her playful energy and her tender, loyal nature.
