Story
Snookie is a 10 yr old black pug mix who has found herself needing a new home. She was rescued from the Richmond SPCA about 5/6 years ago after her owners had passed and unfortunately, has found herself in the same situation. She is spayed, UTD on shots and currently on Heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick medication. She is a total love bug who impatiently waits for you to sit down on the couch or chair so she can snuggle up as close as possible for some back rubs. She loves to sleep in the bed with you as well and prefers to be under the covers. Car rides and short walks are a fav and she does very well on a leash. She is house trained, crate trained, and her foster mom is currently working on helping her lose a few pounds to make life easier on her.

Story
Lokee is a wonderfully affectionate pup with youthful exuberance and the ability to chill once he feels safe and comfortable. Lokee wants nothing more than to be your loyal sidekick! He is well-trained and will respond to voice commands. He is housebroken and sleeps quietly in his crate all night. Lokee would thrive on being your main focus, though he’s been getting along well with the resident dog in his foster home and has had some nice play sessions. Lokee is quiet much of the time, although he will be a protective presence and sometimes barks when he hears sounds from outside. Lokee’s been enjoying being in the backyard watching for squirrels and doing the occasional zoomie run. He is working on his leash walking, but at times loud sounds can startle him. Otherwise, he likes the sniffs and excitement from short walks in the neighborhood. Lokee is continuing to build his confidence in meeting new people. Once he knows you, he only wants to love you. HISTORY Lokee came from a local shelter, where he was a volunteer and staff favorite. PHYSICAL Lokee has a compact body, short tan fur, an adorable furrowed brow, and a curlicue tail. MEDICAL Lokee is neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He's ready to go to his forever home!

Story
Kelvin (aka "Cowboy Kelvin" or "Kelvey") is a sweet and playful Chug (a Chihuahua-Pug mix). He is around 8 years old with a tan body and little bit of frosty face. Crate-trained and a wonderful commute copilot, he’s ready to join a loving, single-dog home where he can be your devoted adventure buddy and couch companion. Whether you're relaxing on the couch, working from home, or heading out for an adventure, he's happiest right by your side. This goofy little guy loves car rides and is always ready to be your co-pilot. At home, you'll often find him perched by the window keeping an eye on the neighborhood, curled up beside you on the couch, or happily chewing on his favorite bone. He's mostly house-trained and has a laid-back personality that makes him an easy addition to a calm home. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, he's not always enthusiastic about sharing his toys. Because of this, he'd do best as an only dog or with a respectful, submissive canine companion who understands his boundaries. More than anything, he's looking for a person to love. If you're searching for a loyal lap dog who wants to be involved in everything you do, this sweet boy may be the perfect match. He's ready to trade foster life for a forever home filled with cozy couch cuddles, car rides, and plenty of time spent together.

Story
Georgie is a 2 year old, 6 lb Chihuahua/Pug mix with the heart of a snuggly old soul and the body of a tiny Velcro shadow! Quick Facts: Name: Georgie Breed: Chihuahua/Pug mix Age: 2 years old Weight: 6 lbs. House-Trained: Working on it! Crate-Trained: He eats in his crate with the door open Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested, but likely fine Good with Kids: Yes – best with kids who can respect his small size Energy Level: Couch potato/snuggle bug energy! Fence Required: No Dog’s Location: Garner, NC About Georgie’s Breed: Our best guess is that Georgie is a Chihuahua/Pug mixed breed. A Chihuahua/Pug mix—often called a “Chug”—is a charming blend of two affectionate, people oriented breeds, resulting in a small dog with a big heart and an even bigger desire to be close to their person. They’re typically snuggly, expressive, and eager to bond, with the Chihuahua’s loyalty and the Pug’s sweet, goofy warmth shining through. Many Chug type mixes love being lap dogs, thrive on human attention, and enjoy a cozy, predictable routine. Their ideal home is one that offers steady companionship, gentle structure, and lots of opportunities for closeness. Because they can be sensitive and may get underfoot, they tend to do best with older, dog savvy kids who understand how to move calmly around a small dog. A family that appreciates a cuddly, affectionate companion—and doesn’t mind a little shadow following them from room to room—will find a devoted, loving friend in a Chihuahua/Pug mix. What to Love about Georgie: Umm… everything! Georgie’s ideal home is one that won’t mind a little dog glued to their side—and occasionally to their face—because Georgie LIVES for closeness! He trusts easily and will happily sack out on your lap, flip onto his back for belly rubs, and snooze upside down without a care in the world. Let’s put it this way: If you happened to spend 20 hours on your couch a day, Georgie would easily sign up to be your “lap warmer” for the full 20 hours with that adorable little smile on his face! He’s incredibly smart—he learned to eat in his crate after one meal and mastered a deck to yard ramp in just three days—but he still needs patient guidance with leash walking and housebreaking. Georgie is wonderfully tolerant for baths and ear cleanings, even if he’s not thrilled about them, and he’s polite, gentle, and never destructive. This little cuddle bug adores sleeping in bed with his people—on your pillow, under the covers, anywhere he can be close—and would be happiest in a home that welcomes him right under the blankets! He hasn’t shown much interest in toys yet because he’s too busy snuggling, but his foster mom is hopeful that a playful side will emerge soon. Georgie does well with other dogs and happily lets them set the tone; he’d likely enjoy a calm doggie sibling to curl up with. He hasn’t met cats, but given how much he loves everyone, he’d probably be fine with them too. Because he’s tiny and tends to get underfoot, he’d do best with older, gentle kids who understand how to move around a very small dog. Georgie is a sweetheart through and through—affectionate, trusting, eager to bond, and happiest curled up in a warm lap. With continued potty training support, leash practice, and a family who loves snuggles as much as he does, he’ll blossom into the most devoted little companion. If you’re looking for a tiny shadow with a huge heart, Georgie is ready to curl up and stay forever! Georgie’s Glorious Highlights: • Velcro snuggle bug — happiest glued to your lap, chest, or even your face • Instant trust giver — bonds quickly and will cuddle with strangers like they’re old friends • Old soul energy — calm, cozy, and content to lounge for hours • Bed sleeping sweetheart — loves sleeping on your pillow or under the covers • Smart little learner — mastered crate eating in one meal and a yard ramp in three days • Working on potty skills — improving daily but sometimes too focused on his person to remember to go • Leash training in progress — doesn’t need a fenced yard as long as he’s leashed • Dog friendly companion — enjoys being near other dogs and lets them set the tone • Great with gentle handling — tolerant for baths and ear cleanings, even if he’s not thrilled • Ideal for older kids — tiny and gets underfoot, so best with calm, dog savvy children Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/.
