Story
Meet Minnie, a 2-year-old Pug mix weighing 27 pounds with the cutest little underbite and a beautiful white chest and collar that gives her a “queenly” look. She’s as sweet as she is adorable and fully believes she’s here to love you… and collect a few treats along the way. Minnie is a happy, playful girl with a medium to high energy level. She loves playing with her foster dog siblings and enjoys toys, especially antlers and squeaky toys. She’ll chase a ball here and there, but she’d much rather engage with her people or other dogs than nap the day away. She’s very alert and will pop up quickly if she hears something new, making her both entertaining and a great little watchdog. She is house trained, though she has had a few recent accidents that may be related to medication she’s currently on while recovering from heartworm treatment. Minnie is crate trained with a little encouragement, especially if a treat is involved, and she settles in nicely once inside. When left alone, she does well resting in her crate for 4 to 8 hours. Minnie is great with tweens and teens and would do well in a home with or without kids. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those in the 30 to 60 pound range, and enjoys having playmates. Cats and other animals are unknown at this time. She’s a smart girl who already knows sit and shake and is currently working on “come here,” “lay down,” and “get in your box.” On leash, Minnie is still learning and can be a bit of a zig-zagger who pulls, but with consistency and a little patience, she’ll continue to improve. She is very food motivated, which makes training easier and fun. Car rides can make Minnie a little nervous, though she has already started improving. For longer trips, she may benefit from some calming support, but she’s making great progress and gaining confidence. Minnie’s ideal home is simply one that will love her. She’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality. When you look into her eyes, she seems to say, “I’m a cutie patootie, here to give you love and kisses,” and she truly means it. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and shower you with affection, Minnie may be your perfect match. Story
Conway is sweet fella who gets along great with dogs of all sizes. He loves to play and wrestle but he also likes to chill on his bed for a good nap. You can consider him a medium energy level -- he tends to energy match other dogs. He's got a pretty glorious underbite and snaggle teeth that adds extra character to his sweet face. But his dark soulful eyes and perky ears make him quite a charming gent. He's a great size -- maybe 25 lbs. He's mostly pug, but might have a little something extra mixed in. Whatever his mix....he's a sweetie who is curious, fun and ever so slightly sassy. If you would like to meet Conway please fill out our online application. Available in Austin, Texas area or Portland Oregon area. https://www.centraltexasruffugees.org/copy-of-foster We will get back to you in 24 to 48 hrs.

Story
Sweet Amber is another Spindletop survivor from last summer's raid and seizure. They killed her friend Stella who was also boarded there. Amber is a special soul. She is a loving and wonderful companion. She is funny and squatty with her red satin-teen collar and will lay around all day if you let her. She loves watching tv with you and just being with humans. Amber is super trained, does down, leave it, off and walks wonderfully on lead. She is as charming and quirky as they come and a truly special dog. Amber, like all of the Animals First and Reunion Rescue dogs, is crate and house-trained, raw fed and homeopathically treated. We have a wonderful foster to adopt program and lifetime guarantee for all our dogs. Please contact doggirl1@earthlink.net to arrange a meet and greet with Amber at the Reunion Rescue No-Kill Refuge.   Visit Amber on Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Help-Amber-and-Stella-abused-in-Houston/137819022958959?fref=tsMay 22, 2024, 5:48 am
