Story
Meet Minnie, a 2-year-old Pug mix weighing 27 pounds with the cutest little underbite and a beautiful white chest and collar that gives her a “queenly” look. She’s as sweet as she is adorable and fully believes she’s here to love you… and collect a few treats along the way. Minnie is a happy, playful girl with a medium to high energy level. She loves playing with her foster dog siblings and enjoys toys, especially antlers and squeaky toys. She’ll chase a ball here and there, but she’d much rather engage with her people or other dogs than nap the day away. She’s very alert and will pop up quickly if she hears something new, making her both entertaining and a great little watchdog. She is house trained, though she has had a few recent accidents that may be related to medication she’s currently on while recovering from heartworm treatment. Minnie is crate trained with a little encouragement, especially if a treat is involved, and she settles in nicely once inside. When left alone, she does well resting in her crate for 4 to 8 hours. Minnie is great with tweens and teens and would do well in a home with or without kids. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those in the 30 to 60 pound range, and enjoys having playmates. Cats and other animals are unknown at this time. She’s a smart girl who already knows sit and shake and is currently working on “come here,” “lay down,” and “get in your box.” On leash, Minnie is still learning and can be a bit of a zig-zagger who pulls, but with consistency and a little patience, she’ll continue to improve. She is very food motivated, which makes training easier and fun. Car rides can make Minnie a little nervous, though she has already started improving. For longer trips, she may benefit from some calming support, but she’s making great progress and gaining confidence. Minnie’s ideal home is simply one that will love her. She’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality. When you look into her eyes, she seems to say, “I’m a cutie patootie, here to give you love and kisses,” and she truly means it. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and shower you with affection, Minnie may be your perfect match. You can apply directly for Minnie by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-799 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Meet sweet Finch. Finch is friendly and a little shy. Based upon her looks, we think that Finch has some Pug and Beagle in her. Finch has a sad "resting" face, but take her on a car ride and be amazed at her transformation! Finch is house trained and crate trained and is enjoying hanging out with her new four legged besties. We love watching Finch blossom as she gains confidence in knowing that she is on the way to a better, happier life. To meet Finch, fill out an application on our website at wimberleywagrescue.org. Don’t worry—there’s no obligation to adopt when you submit an application!

Story
Sweet Pea is a senior, female, Boston Terrier who weighs about 23 pounds. She turned 14 on March 17th. As her name implies, she is a such a good, sweet girl, and seems to get along with the other dogs that she has met. She is house trained and potty trained and loves to play with her toys, chew on treats, and enjoy a comfortable spot to lay. She is losing her hearing and her sight, but she adapts very well. Sweet Pea is very social and loves to be around her humans (or any humans that want to hang with her!). She is a little shadow following her people around the house and wants to be where the activity is. She is not super cuddly, but she does like to stay close by. She also likes going for car rides and visiting new places and people and eating all the treats! Sweet Pea has been with her brother Mr. T for a little over a year. While they aren’t “bonded”, they do enjoy each other’s company and are going through this major life transition of needing a new home, so we are hoping to find a home where they can stay together! Sweet Pea is spayed, microchipped, HW negative, and up to date on vaccines. She does have a high grade heart murmur. We do have access to a few years of vet records for her, and are happy to answer any questions that we are able to about her. She is not currently on any daily medications. While in foster care, she did have a biopsy of a large lump which was diagnosed as an intermediate grade Soft Tissue Sarcoma. She had a very severe reaction to the sedation where her heart stopped, so she is not a candidate to have it removed or to be sedated again. She is also being monitored for any additional seizure activity - as she had a few immediately after her heart stopped and at this time has had one additional one in her foster home. We will be sure to provide any updated information that we learn to interested applicants and answer all the questions that we can. She is such a sweet and special girl, and deserves the best golden years! She does need a home that knows she has some conditions that will need monitored for progression. If you are interested in potentially meeting Sweet Pea and Mr. T - please fill out the adoption application available at www.texassweetiesdogrescue.org . The combined adoption fee for the pair - Mr. T and Sweet Pea - is $300.

Story
Mr. T (f.k.a. Taco) is an approximately 8 year old male Boston Terrier. He’s a big sweet boy weighing in around 28 pounds. He is so full of love and ready to share it with everyone that he meets! He has never met a stranger! Mr. T LOVES other dogs (at least all that he’s met while in foster care). He does really want to play, so he will love to have either a very patient fur-sibling that will let him be a bit over excited at first or a fur-sibling that can matches his playful vibe! His older 'sister' Sweet Pea is his current patient fur-sibling. After the initial excitement, he winds down and wants to cuddle. He is such a sweet gentleman with Sweet Pea. Mr. T also loves walks and will wait by his leash and remind you daily that he is a good boy and should get to go on a walk! Mr. T loves toys and they are a must in the house. He tends to be a very mouthy/toothy player and thinks hands and feet can also be toys when he gets too excited (similar to how puppies play bite hands/feet), and is actively learning to that they are not. He will definitely need this training to continue in a patient furever home. His dream day consists of a walk, some playtime, food & snacks in between, and lots of snuggling. On a sunny day, you will find him happily snoozing in a sun beam. He is so sweet and sensitive and will make the perfect companion for the right home! Mr. T has been with his sister, Sweet Pea, for a little over a year. While they aren’t “bonded”, they do enjoy each other’s company and are going through this major life transition of needing a new home, so we are hoping to find a home where they can stay together! Mr. T is Heartworm negative, neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is also house trained and crate trained. He does get allergies sometimes and he has been prescribed allergy meds at times when they flare up. While in foster care, he has had a few lumps removed. Two of them were sent off for further testing and were determined to be low grade Mast Cell Tumors. They were removed with clean margins, so hopefully there is a low chance of recurrence. A new home would need to have any new lumps that pop up over his life monitored by their vet. If you are interested in potentially meeting Sweet Pea and Mr. T - please fill out the adoption application available at www.texassweetiesdogrescue.org . The combined adoption fee for the pair - Mr. T and Sweet Pea - is $300.
