Story
My name is Winston and I am a typical pug...funny, sweet, and snorty! I do well with all the dogs I live with and have lived with older children. I arrive on September 13th and would love to have a family ready to meet me!
I may have some hearing and vision loss in one eye, but don’t let
that fool you—I don’t let it slow me down one bit! I’m a happy little
guy who loves being around my people and enjoying all the good
things life has to offer.
I enjoy going on short walks with my foster mom, although here
in Texas, we have to keep them short because, whew… that heat!
My favorite activities are much more relaxing anyway, like
lounging on the couch, snoozing in my dog bed, or stretching out
on the rug. I like to keep my napping locations interesting!
I LOVE my toys and especially enjoy hearing that wonderful
SQUEAK! I get along with all of my foster siblings, too—from tiny
Chihuahuas to medium German Shepherd mixes. I’ll play with
them from time to time, but if I’m being completely honest, I’d
much rather hang out with my favorite human.
And then there’s MEAL TIME. It is definitely one of the highlights
of my day! I have an adorable little underbite, which means I can
be a bit messy when I eat. My foster mom is working hard to find
the perfect bowl for me so I can enjoy my meals with a little less
cleanup.
I’m not much of a barker, I’m fully potty trained, and I’m crate
trained! I’m also a sweet boy who would love a patient family
willing to help me learn my basic commands while keeping my
hearing and vision differences in mind. I may need a little extra
understanding, but I have SO much love to give in return.
Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care.
Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once
approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250.
