Story
Pumpkin arrives in Wisconsin on July 12th. Pumpkin is the sweetest pug in the patch! This adorable pug is about 9.5 years old. She has experience living with other dogs in her foster home. She would love to find an adopter who has experience with the pug breed due to their unique personalities and health needs. Interested in adoption? The first step is an application at paddyspaws.blogspot.com. Please do not apply if pets in the home are not up to date per our website requirements or are not altered. Our rescue adopts to Wisconsin and Illinois. Our requirements for Illinois applications are: excellent vet history, no children under 7 in the home, and an owned home. Wisconsin does not have these requirements, though we will not consider applications where pets are missing core veterinary care. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and once approved a meet and greet with the dog. Adoption fee is $250. Story
Meet Petunia! Petunia is a sweet girl who recently arrived to us as part of a puppy mill release and is now starting the journey of learning what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. As a puppy mill survivor, Petunia is still adjusting to a world that is very new to her. She may be shy or unsure when first meeting new people or experiencing new environments, but with patience and gentle encouragement, she is beginning to show her softer, more trusting side. Petunia is crate trained, which helps her feel secure, but she is not yet house trained and will need a patient family willing to help her continue learning with consistency and kindness. In her previous environment, Petunia lived around children and did well with other dogs. With slow, proper introductions, she would likely also do well with cats. Watching a puppy mill survivor discover the comforts of a home is a gradual but incredibly rewarding process. Every small step forward—whether it’s relaxing nearby, exploring a new space, or seeking out reassurance—represents meaningful progress. Petunia is looking for a calm, understanding home where she can continue to build confidence at her own pace. In return, she has the potential to become a deeply loyal and loving companion. If you have the patience and heart to help a shy dog blossom, Petunia may be the perfect addition to your family. All of our dogs are dewormed, spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and heartworm tested if they are old enough.
