She is an absolute doll and loves getting a few minutes away from her babies here and there to snuggle with her humans and just soak into them. Fostered in Bradenton. She will be available soon after she weans her babies and gets her vet check up...

Please welcome Iggy to Ewenity!! She is an 11 mo old puggle who has found her way to us!! Iggy is great with other dogs, however she is very high energy and is quickly learning that not all dogs want to play all the time!! She is in a home with 10 other pups of all sizes and doing very very well!! She is completely house broken, crates well and walks well on lead. Knows basic commands. She will have a two week assessment period to allow her to decompress and unfold, but first impression allows that she needs boundaries she does listen well to verbal corrections and is easily corrected. she will not be great for an older couple due to her high energy level.. Iggy may be great as an agility dog, she is very fast, and fearless. She also likes the water so perhaps dock diving could be in her future, and of course there is always scent work!. Recommend a fenced yard, no small children due to her energy level, a home with another active friendly tolerant dog, and an active family /couple that are willing to keep her busy and active. Hiking, biking , dog sports should be considered. toy drive not tested yet. This gal says NO to strollers, dress up etc. She is ready to rock and roll!!! Will update as she unfolds, she is up to date on vetting. She IS allergic to bees, a serious allergy that would need immediate attention if stung. If you are looking for a great adventure buddy and active companion, this is your girl!!!! All 22 pounds of her!! Fostered in Bradenton.

I also have a scared guy named Butterball who needs placement. Butterball does not like to be outside or go for walks. He is a very scared boy but will walk outside with another dog. He has been dog friendly with us and has been adopted and returned twice due to his fearful nature. On his most recent return he did bite the hand of the adopter while they were restraining him to put a harness on to take him for a walk. Both homes were dog free and did not have a fenced yard. Due to our shelter not having strict adoption requirements we worry that he may end up returned again for his fearful nature. We have been better screening potential adopters this time around. Our adoptions have been moving a bit slowly. Butterball is also heartworm positive. HSTC will schedule and provide the heartworm injections when the time comes. You'd just have to get him here. we are looking for a dog savvy person to work with Butterball out of the shelter in a home where he can blossom. Any of these incidents can happen when folk are not dog savvy and cognizant of dog behaviour. So we are seeking a foster that can nurture and help this dog commit to boundaries and a routine that will instill confidence and positive outcome. Could that be you?? He is still in the shelter and we cannot pull him until we get a committment. Recommend someone on the east coast please. Thank you !
