This lil gal was found as a stray and brought to the shelter. Being little and in a very loud noisy place, she was very frightened. We have pulled her and she is on her way to foster in Bradenton. Once she acclimates to her foster home, we will know more about her. She may be a great lil companion for an older couple, no small kids. We will post more info as she unfolds. Having just been spayed, its time to decompress, let her relax and start to realize she is safe. Apps can be taken, interviews will be done. We prefer folk with chi experience. thank you .

! FOSTER/FOSTER TO ADOPT/ADOPTER IN NEED! additional info from our shelter friends!! Sweet Louisa is a 4-year-old, 13-pound girl with a gentle heart. She is heartworm negative. Louisa is very friendly with both people and other dogs, but she's naturally a little shy when meeting new people. Once she feels comfortable, she's incredibly affectionate and loves to cuddle. With her calm personality, she'd likely thrive in a quieter home or with older children who can give her the patience she needs to settle in. She is very housebroken, crate trained and goes in her crate to rest open door policy.. Has a great appetite, likes to play with toys. Good with other dogs, but does not really play with them! Has an inquisitive nature, likes to explore and like other doxies likes to dig! Needs a little work on the leash but she will follow you anywhere and is very food motivated.. She may make a good scent work girlie!! PUPDATE!! Louisa has opened waaaaay up!! This girl is an avid hunter! Its her passion! She will need a fenced yard, nice and secure or she will be trolling the neighborhood for lizards after she catches all yours! She is a snuggler, yes, and calm in the house. Walks well on lead. Loves to sleep on the bed. She will need to be in a fairly active home, where she can participate in hiking, going to events, kayaking, running partner OR better yet, barn hunt, scent work, lure coursing or agility. She is a very smart girl and will need engagement and enrichment in her life. Currently fostered in Bradenton. Two walks a day, and a stroller will not fit this gals lifestyle! She will be fun with the right person!!!!

Hen is a lovely girl that was in a confiscation situation. We have had her in the rescue for now 2 year!!! She has come a LONG way and is doing great!!! She LOVES other dogs, plays well with them and once she knows you she is super affectionate. I think she will always have a cautious streak in her, from her past, but she is brave and manages to overcome her blocks!! It took us three months for her to come out of her crate and come willingly to us. Now once she knows you she wants to be with you all the time! She is so much better about being picked up, we practice that at home all the time, she does tolerate it. Totally housebroke, crate trained and yes we are still working on the leash. But it is only going forward. She is a funny girl. Loves to play with toys, and does zoomies in the yard. Rides well in the car in the front seat. She tolerates the vet and just goes limp in situations she is uncomfortable in. With more exposure, socialization and group classes she will only improve. She is a project dog, but will give you her whole heart and soul. Will eventually make a great companion dog, right now she prefers the comfort of her home environ, with added dashes of the new world! Will need a fenced yard, and most importantly another kind playful dog to hang with and be her best friend! She loves to run and would eventually make an awesome agility dog, She has been started in scentwork and does seem to like it. Scent work is very good for confidence building. She has been to classes, not as a participant but hanging out to get exposure. Eventually she will make it into class, she is doing so much better than before!! Fostered in Bradenton. Will need an adopter or anotehr long term foster who has knowledge of dog behaviour, and lots of patience and love.. This girl only wants to please, and with your help can conquer all those past fears. Make her future a safe and beautiful place!!! This lil 14 pd chi mix came from a hoarding situation on the east coast of Florida. She is unsocialized, needs a quiet home, is not aggressive to people. She just needs time. allowing for decompression is very important. Right now an airline crate is her safe space. She has made no attempt to bite just wants to be as small as possible. Fostered in Bradenton. Someone who has experience with hoarding dogs, fearful dogs will be good for this girl. Must have a fenced yard, and another calm dog, not in your face type of dog. We have made some progress 3/7!! Brown is taking food from my hand and will approach you for more!!! She is intimidated by other dogs that are in her face and will stay on the outer circle. Once you have her alone she will approach and take food and actually allow petting. She needs a lot more one on one. She has a habit of spinning in the crate when being fed. Not so concerned about that, it should go away in time. it does not prevent her from eating and she has a good appetite!! Brown needs a very patient foster maybe one other dog. She does crate well prefers an airline crate, She is housebroken and uses a dog door! She needs to learn to walk on lead, get used to being touched, and to trust people. She is a special needs and a project dog. I know there are not many of you out there, but inside this lil gal is a gem of a dog once you win her over. Currently fostered in Bradenton.
