Story
Meet Pooh — a 6&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old, 12 lb Bluetick Beagle pup with a heart full of sweetness and a nose that’s always ready for adventure.   Quick Facts: Name: Pooh Breed: Bluetick Beagle Mix Age: 6 months old Weight: 12 lbs. House-Trained: Working on it! Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Yes (would love a playful sibling!) Good with Cats: Yes Good with Kids: Yes, best with kids who can handle puppy energy Energy Level: Medium (playful) Fence Required: No, but preferred due to her explorative nature   About Pooh’s Breed: Our best guess is that Pooh is a Bluetick Beagle mixed breed. Bluetick Beagles are known for their keen noses, curious minds, and cheerful, affectionate personalities. They’re classic little hounds—playful, expressive, and always ready to follow an interesting scent. Their striking bluetick coat pattern gives them a unique look, and their friendly nature makes them wonderful companions for families and other pets.   An ideal home for a Bluetick Beagle is one that offers plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and safe opportunities to explore. Because their noses lead the way, they thrive with a fenced yard or regular leashed adventures. They do best with families who appreciate their energetic, inquisitive spirit and can provide consistent training, companionship, and lots of love.   What to Love about Pooh: Pooh is playful, loving, and full of that irresistible puppy energy that makes every day a little brighter! When she’s not exploring or playing with her toys, she’s happiest curled up in bed, where she sleeps soundly through the night.   Pooh is still learning the ropes of puppy life — she’s mostly potty trained but may still have accidents, and she’s working hard on her manners, including understanding the word “no.” She’s crate trained and should be crated or gated when left alone, as her curious beagle nose can lead her into mischief. She rides well in the car (though drive&#226&#128&#145thrus aren’t her favorite), walks nicely on a leash, and is eager to keep learning with a patient, dog&#226&#128&#145savvy family.   She adores other dogs and would love a playful canine sibling to romp with! She’s also good with cats and would do well with respectful, dog&#226&#128&#145savvy kids. With her hound instincts, Pooh loves to sniff, explore, and follow scents, so a fenced yard or regular leashed adventures would make her very happy!   Pooh’s Precious Highlights: 6&#226&#128&#145month&#226&#128&#145old, 12 lb Bluetick Beagle puppy with tons of sweetness and playful energy Loves to explore and sniff — classic hound instincts in a tiny package Great with dogs, cats, and respectful kids Crate trained and should be crated or gated when left alone (curious puppy nose!) Mostly potty trained but still learning, as expected for her age Enjoys walks, rides well in the car, and is learning basic commands Plays wonderfully with other dogs and would love a playful canine sibling Sleeps through the night and loves cuddling when she’s not busy playing   Pooh is a remarkable little pup — sweet, energetic, curious, and full of love. She’s ready to grow, learn, and thrive with a family who can guide her through puppyhood and enjoy all the joy she brings!   Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Story
Annie is a five year old female beagle with a very sweet, gentle, and affectionate personality. She has been a deeply loved companion and is well socialized and comfortable living in a home environment. This rehoming decision has been incredibly difficult and is being made solely due to changes in her owner's health. Annie belongs to a 77 year old woman whose physical health has declined and is no longer able to safely walk or exercise Annie consistently, and wants to make sure Annie has a home where her needs can be fully met. Annie is friendly, loving, and thrives on companionship. She would do best in a home where someone is home with her all day and she can receive regular walks, attention, and affection. She is not being rehomed for behavioral reasons and has been well cared for and loved. Our hope is to find Annie a kind, stable home where she can continue to enjoy an active, happy life with people who will cherish her.

Story
Watson is already neutered and READY TO GO HOME!!!A 7.5-year-old Beagle with a classic hound look, Watson has a gentle spirit and more pep in his step than you'd expect. Though technically a senior, Watson hasn't quite gotten the memo-he still loves his walks, enjoys exploring the world through his nose, and will gladly show off a little bounce when the mood strikes.Found as a stray, we don't know much about his past, but his easygoing nature and polite manners have made him a staff and volunteer favorite. He's part of our Gold Star list, which means he's easy to handle and a pleasure to walk-even for new volunteers. He knows how to sit and takes treats gently. In playgroup, Watson was a bit overwhelmed by younger, rowdy dogs-but when a playful puppy joined him, he couldn't resist showing off his "senior swagger." While his joints may be a little stiff, his enthusiasm is still strong, especially when there's a new friend to charm.Watson would be a great match for someone looking for a calm, friendly walking buddy with a little spark. If you're ready for a low-maintenance companion with a big heart, Watson's your guy.Watson is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and already neutered. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 45 Age: 7yrs 11mths 3wks

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Liliana (Lily)! Lily is a sweet and spunky 4 year old 40-pound beagle/hound mix. She is completely vetted and healthy    Lily's Best Day Lily wants to be with her people and doing whatever you do.  She also has a TON of energy and will chase a ball around for an hour-- and wear you out just in watching her TV enthusiast – yes, she really watches with interest.  She currently is rewatching Gossip Girl with her foster mama.  She really **hates** the manatees screen saver on Apple TV and will try to chase She loves to chase the Roomba, although she knows 'no' when her foster mama tells her to knock it off.  Sometimes she will go and nose Roomba to try to get it to play Collector of dog bowls – she gathers them up and bangs them around like trophies Chases her Kong like it owes her money She gets a dental bone each night at bedtime and loves it   Training & Temperament: Loves her people – with proper introductions, she greets kids and adults with a happy tail.  But if someone wants to sneak into your house-- they won't get very far with Lily on watch.  She is VERY protective once settled and can snap if she thinks her people are at risk by an unsanctioned dog or person.  Given this, Lily would NOT be good at dog parks-- she would be in cop mode the whole time.  Foster mama walks Lily carefully and gives her distance from others on the street so she doesn't feel that her pack is threatened.   Food motivated – she learns fast with snacks as rewards.  She will sit for a treat in a split second.  She is great at catching popcorn or blueberries Must be introduced to other dogs properly. While Lily lives with 7 other dogs of all ages and sizes, she will get upset if another dog is in her face.  With introductions, she gets along with most dogs Easy to groom- you can wipe her with a washcloth Crate trained and sleeps through the night like a champ.  She has the full run of the house without being destructive Fully potty trained – no accidents here!   The Vibe: Very silly and finds creative ways to entertain herself Very protective of her people.     If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate pup who will make every day more entertaining, Lily just might be your Pawfect Match! ************************************************************************ The adoption fee is $400, which covers food, vetting, microchip and the spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue-affiliated vet.  All dogs receive a wellness visit and are up to date on shots appropriate for age.  Breed and size is Pawfect Match Rescue's best guess and not guaranteed. Please go to https://www.pawfectmatch.org/animals/search? and search on the dog name to see more photos, browse the profile, and complete an application  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 9, 2026, 4:45 pm

Story
Porthos is a 8 year old Beagle who is sweet but very scared - he has obviously been mistreated by humans, so we are going slowly with him to gain his trust. He will need compassionate and loving humans to help him get over his fear. HOWEVER - he loves, loves dogs. They are validating for him and he will need a home with dogs to loosen him up. He doesn't seem interested in cats, but does love dog friends! Porthos is hw-, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. **Extra bonus points if you get his name reference!** To adopt Porthos, please go to apply.neshamarescue.org
