JANUARY 2026 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. TOULOUSE was saved by an independent rescuer. Well fast forward to a few years ago, the lady was killed by a drunk driver. We were asked to help with her rescues and to our dismay, her house was a horrific hoarding case. We pulled 55 cats that were still alive. Our rescue took 26 of those cats into out rescue. TOULOUSE is now healthy and ready for adoption. Meet TOULOUSE! This gorgeous Ragdoll has been through a lot, but despite his timid nature, he’s managed to hold onto his sweet spirit. TOULOUSE was rescued from a severe hoarding situation, and though he's had a long journey, he’s looking for a calm, understanding home where he can continue to heal and thrive. TOULOUSE is a cat of few words, but he’ll tell you everything you need to know with his expressive face and adorable antics. He may not be a lap cat or a cuddler, and that’s okay! He’s the type who prefers to keep his distance, but he’s still very social in his own way. He enjoys being near you and will often approach to check you out, respond to your voice with those signature Siamese cute faces, and entertain you with his playful little quirks. While he’s not one for being touched just yet, TOULOUSE can form strong bonds with people who understand his boundaries and give him the time and space he needs. His ideal home would be with someone patient and gentle who can respect his need for space, while still offering him companionship and a safe environment to feel comfortable. TOULOUSE may not be the type to curl up on your lap or snuggle close, but that doesn’t mean he’s not capable of showing affection. He’ll share his company with you on his terms and, in his own way, let you know just how much he enjoys being around you. TOULOUSE is looking for a forever home where he can feel safe and loved without pressure—just a calm, quiet place where he can live life at his own pace. If you're the kind of person who can appreciate a cat with a little more independence and who loves watching cute, quirky interactions from a safe distance, TOULOUSE might be the perfect companion for you! TOULOUSE is a DOMESTIC LONG HAIR / RAGDOLL BIRMAN MIX. He is 5 years 5 months old. He has lived with cats and dogs. Not sure of his interaction with the dogs he lived with. He has never been around children. TOULOUSE is currently at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Story
We’ve had Hemi since she was a tiny babe, and she is a snuggly, quiet cat who loves the sunshine, high perches and a good breeze/outdoor space. She gets along well with other cats (we have one other one and they’re buddies). She’s been a part of our family since before we had kids, but since kids, she’s become depressed and withdrawn. She’s on kitty prozac, which really helps with the socialization, but has some behavior problems that popped up around the time we had kids that just aren’t going away. She would be an amazing addition to a home without kids or dogs, or with someone who is home a lot to give her all the love She’s a sweet sweet girl who loves to eat raspberries & sourdough bread, and will join you in the shower to lick water drops off of your fingers 😂

These cats are in Hemet, California too!

The lady was killed by a drunk driver. We were asked to help with her rescues and to our dismay, her house was a horrific hoarding case. There was so many dead cats and feces everywhere. We pulled 55 cats that were still alive. Our rescue took 26 of those cats into out rescue. STEWART was one of the lucky ones to get out alive. Meet STEWART (or as his friends call him, Stewy), a gentle 5 year old tabby with a heart as soft as his plush, striped fur. This shy yet sweet boy hails from Lucerne Valley, CA, and has experienced quite the journey to becoming the loving companion he is today. While STEWART might be reserved at first, he has blossomed into a calm and affectionate cat who now craves gentle pets and quiet moments of connection with his caregivers. His favorite place to be is curled up in a cozy corner of his catio, where he can soak up the sun’s warm rays while lounging in his beloved cat tower. STEWART’s world revolves around the simple pleasures in life—especially his favorite treat, a Churu. He’ll happily let you pet him while indulging in this tasty reward, making snack time a special bonding experience. His transformation into a more confident and social cat is truly inspiring, especially considering his humble beginnings. While STEWART is still a bit shy, he draws immense confidence from the company of other cats. He thrives in the presence of feline friends, finding joy and reassurance in their companionship, and would love to share his new home with another gentle cat or two. He really shines when surrounded by other cats who are soaking up love and attention, making him the perfect addition to a multi-cat household. STEWART’s tender heart and quiet courage are just waiting to bring peace and warmth into the lives of his future family. He’ll need a patient and loving environment where he can continue to blossom at his own pace, but the reward will be a sweet, loyal companion who’s ready to fill your days with contented purrs and sun-soaked afternoons. Could your home be the peaceful sanctuary STEWART has been waiting for? He’s ready to meet his new loving family! STEWART is DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / TABBY MIX. he is about 5 years and 6 months old and is GREAT with other cats. PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. ZELENA was saved from the streets of Murrieta, California. Our volunteer saw her posted on Nextdoor and felt so bad for her. She picked her up to find out that the ZELENA was dumped by her previous family. We got her fully vetted. Unfortunately she was pregnant at the time. We were unaware that she was at the time of the appointment. Meet ZELENA, a radiant orange tabby female from Murrieta, California, whose warm golden coat is only rivaled by the warmth of her purring heart. With a personality as bold as her beautiful coloring, ZELENA is a curious, affectionate lap cat who’s equal parts snuggly companion and sassy queen. ZELENA is the kind of cat who knows exactly what she wants—and what she wants most is your attention. She adores being petted and will reward you with a full-on purr symphony the moment your hand reaches her soft fur. Whether you’re reading a book or working on your laptop, expect ZELENA to climb into your lap, settle in like royalty, and make herself perfectly at home. While she’s full of love for people, ZELENA prefers to reign as the solo feline in your kingdom. She thrives as the center of attention and would be happiest in a home where she doesn’t have to share her space (or your lap!) with other cats. Her playful curiosity and people-oriented nature make her the ultimate one-on-one companion. ZELENA has a touch of feistiness that only adds to her charm—think of it as spice in the sweetness. She’s spirited and independent, with a dash of diva flair, and she’s not afraid to let you know when she needs some personal space. But once she’s had a little time to herself, she’s right back to being your affectionate shadow. This large-and-in-charge lady is looking for a loving home where she can stretch out, soak up affection, and finally enjoy the peace and pampering she’s been waiting for. Are you ready to meet a lap cat with personality, purrs, and a whole lot of heart? To learn more or to adopt ZELENA, please apply at: Workinwhiskers.com. ZELENA is DOMESTIC SHORT HAIR / TABBY MIX. She is about 3 years and 1 month old and is tolerant of other cats. She has not been around young children She has never been around dogs. The adoption fee of $200 covers: Spay FVRCP shots RABIES shot FELV/FIV test (Negative/Negative) Drontal Dewormer Stronghold Flea Control Microchip We are NOT a government FUNDED shelter and all our donations and adoption fees are for our rescued cats/kittens. So, we do not do DISCOUNTS. If for some unfortunate reason you missed out on the kitten/cat you emailed about...I'm sure that we could help you with another rescue baby! Just ask!
