OCTOBER 2025 PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. IT WILL ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. If you still have questions after, we are happy to respond through email. It is a long read and a long adoption process. Please understand we are ensuring that our babies go to great homes and we don't know you personally (yet). Understand that this is an adoption of a beautiful little soul that deserves the absolute best life. The average lifespan of a cat is 13 to 20 years. Some cats even live into their thirties, although this is far less common. So don't let that discourage you from adopting an adult cat! Rescue Mama has had 3 live into their 20's. One was 8 weeks old. VANESSA and her sister SCARLETT VAN HELSING were living in a back yard in North Hollywood, California. They were surviving. The woman that was living on the property was barley taking care of them. Then we discovered that coyotes had been coming around. So we picked them up. And to our surprise they had babies!! Well because both the girls were probably 5-7 months old (age not known exactly) one of them decided she was not going to be a mommy. So our foster decided to separate that one and they both got very aggressive. So our foster put the one mommy back and technically one of them raised the kittens, while the other mommy just "lived" with them. Kittens are growing and the mommies are ready to be adopted! Meet VANESSA VAN HELSING, a gentle and affectionate petite Domestic Longhair Maine Coon mix from North Hollywood, California, who wears her diluted tabico coat like a watercolor painting in motion. VANESSA VAN HELSING spent her first six months navigating the streets, but you’d never guess it from her sweet nature. She’s a total softie who adores head rubs, cozy nooks, and the company of her fellow felines. With those expressive eyes and luxurious, fluffy coat, she brings a calming energy to any room she steps into. There's a quiet strength in her presence, a kind of grace that makes you want to sit down and just be near her. VANESSA VAN HELSING has a unique bond with her sister, a fellow young mama. Though they’re not inseparable, they find comfort in one another’s presence—like two puzzle pieces that don’t have to fit perfectly to belong side by side. They both became mothers early in life, and while only one took on the task of raising the kittens, they’ve now retired their mama duties and are ready for a new chapter—ideally in the same home where they can continue their sisterly companionship. VANESSA VAN HELSING is calm, observant, and easygoing. She thrives in peaceful environments and would flourish in a home where she can perch on windowsills, chase soft toys on occasion, and receive gentle pets from a kindhearted caregiver. Her Maine Coon roots bring a hint of playfulness, an appreciation for interactive toys, and an intelligent curiosity. She MAY surprise you with chirpy little meows when she wants your attention or flops onto her side in true feline fashion to ask for belly rubs (on her terms, of course). While she may need a bit of time to fully adjust to a new environment, her loving spirit is always within reach. VANESSA VAN HELSING is suitable for a home that appreciates the quiet beauty of cats and is open to welcoming both her and her sister. Could your heart and home be the next soft landing for this dignified duo? PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION BELOW. A lady on Next Door reached out to our rescue partner and asked if she could help a kitten. She was found in a bush alone in Torrance, Ca. SHELL was feisty and so small. Meet SHELL, a reserved three-year-old Diluted Calico Maine Coon from Torrance, California whose soft, pastel-toned fur reflects her gentle and quiet nature. With her long, fluffy coat that blends soft grays, creams, and whites, SHELL is a picture of elegance and grace. She may be shy at first, often preferring to observe her surroundings from a cozy, tucked-away spot, but with a little patience, she begins to open up in her own delicate way. SHELL has a refined personality and will allow pets—but only on her terms. She enjoys gentle head scratches and soft strokes when she's feeling comfortable, making her a true cat who values her independence. She’s skittish with sudden movements or new situations, but given time, her cautious curiosity will win out, and she’ll be quietly near, soaking up the calm energy of her environment. SHELL gets along well with other cats, blending into a multi-cat household without causing any fuss. Her mellow nature makes her unreactive to dogs, so she could live peacefully alongside a calm canine companion as long as they respect her space. While she’s never been around children, SHELL might do well in a quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace without too much hustle and bustle. Her Maine Coon heritage gives her a majestic look with a luxuriously thick coat and a large, regal presence. However, unlike the stereotypical social Maine Coon, SHELL leans into her more reserved, introverted side, making her the perfect match for a patient and understanding caregiver who will give her the time she needs to feel safe and secure. Are you ready to provide a calm, loving home where this beautiful girl can thrive at her own pace? If you’re looking for a quiet, independent companion who will blossom with time, SHELL may just be the perfect addition to your family. SHELL is a DILUTED CALICO / MAINE COON MIX. She is about 4 years and 4 months old and is good with cats. In her foster home, she was around other kittens and older cats. She will probably do best with a very friendly, loving and non aggressive cat or 2. She has never been around children. We are not sure how she will do with dogs, but she is non-reactive. SHELL is currently located at our rescue in Hemet, California. ADOPTION PROCESS: 1. Go to Workinwhiskers.com (Click on ADOPT) 2. Fill Out Online Form 3. Submit Online Application 4.
