Stretch, Spot, and Little Man came to PRBJ from an overcrowded shelter after being rescued from a hoarding situation where the home had over 50 dogs. These dogs are all nervous and have no manners, not talking about sit, stay, paw I am talking about they are used to climbing on tables or counters if they can find a way up.  But they are SWEET and just need to each find a patient owner who can help them and maybe another dog in the house to show them what a dog is supposed to be like :) Important Information for New Puppy Parents  Welcoming a new puppy into your home is an exciting and rewarding experience—but it also comes with important responsibilities. To help your puppy grow into a happy, confident, and well-adjusted adult dog, dedication to obedience training, socialization, and consistent potty training is essential.  We strongly recommend that the entire family participates in puppy training classes. This not only helps build a strong bond with your new pup but also ensures that everyone is using the same commands and techniques, creating a clear and consistent environment for learning.  **Puppies thrive with structure, patience, and positive reinforcement—and so do their families! Let’s set them up for a lifetime of love and success  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 20, 2026, 8:25 pm

Story
Bebe and Tabby are a bonded pair of 7-year-old female Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mixes. Bebe weighs approximately 15 pounds. She is a friendly, happy, affectionate girl who is always wagging her tail as soon as she sees you. Tabby also weighs 15 pounds. She is timid when she first meets new people, but quickly warms up. We have no idea why they named her Tabby? They both gets along well with the other dogs, but have not been cat or kid-tested. Their adoption donation is $500, which includes their spay, vaccinations, and microchip. They both are heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. They are currently in a foster home, please fill out an adoption application, and we will arrange meet and greet. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/adoption-application.html https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p154/Bebe_%26_Tabby.html We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. Story
Hi! I’m Nissan! I’m a 2-year-old, 10-pound Rat Terrier, and yes, I’m named after a car! I may be small, but just like a Nissan, I’m dependable, ready to go places with my favorite people, and happiest when I know I’m in good hands. I’m a sweet little guy with plenty of personality who loves my people, backyard playtime, and cozy evenings at home. Favorite Things: Nissan loves playing in his fenced backyard with his foster brother, getting attention from his people, and taking long naps. He is an excellent TV-watching buddy who enjoys curling up nearby or joining you on the couch for cuddles. Don't forget to have a selection of toys for him to choose from! Training & Manners: Nissan is eager to learn and responds extremely well to positive-reinforcement training. He knows “touch” and is working on “up” and “down,” and he is comfortable and happy in his designated napping area, especially when given a frozen Kong toy. He is currently on a strict potty schedule of every couple of hours and will need a family that can consistently stick to that routine. Health & Care: Nissan is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. Like any dog, he will need to remain on regular heartworm and flea prevention. Other Animals: Nissan loves playing with other dogs, and another playful dog could be a wonderful companion for him, although not required. He has not been tested with cats. Children: Nissan should do well with older, respectful children who understand that he may need some time to warm up. He does best when allowed to approach new people and situations at his own pace. Ideal Home: Nissan would thrive in a single-family home with a securely fenced yard, as he is currently nervous about leash walks away from home and is most confident in his backyard. He will also need a family that is home more often than not, as continued training, consistency, and patient encouragement will be important in helping him build confidence. His ideal family will be patient, calm, and committed to helping him learn at his own pace. Overall: Nissan is a wonderful little homebody who can be cautious about new situations, but he makes great progress when given time, patience, and encouragement. Once he trusts you, he is affectionate, playful, eager to connect, and ready to be your loyal little sidekick Think Nissan might be the one for you? If so, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org; if it seems like a good match, his foster family will be in touch. His adoption donation is $350 ##2821508##

Story
Hi, I’m Rhaegal — a 7yearold, 7pound Rat Terrier–Chihuahua blend named after one of Daenerys’ dragons, though my fire shows up only as cuddles. I’m affectionate, clever, and delightfully quirky, greeting new people with the excitement of a tiny dragon discovering fresh territory. Favorite Things: Rhaegal delights in being held, cuddled, and doted on. He enjoys belly rubs, gentle affection, and the closeness of his favorite humans. His idea of fun is curling up with his person and sharing quiet, affectionate moments. Toys are optional in his world — he’s far more interested in connection than playthings. Training and Manners: Rhaegal is housetrained when let out frequently and follows household routines with ease. He sleeps peacefully through the night and enjoys relaxing beside his person. He has good basic manners and responds well to gentle guidance. While he isn’t enthusiastic about leashes, he makes up for it with his eagerness to please and his natural charm. Health and Care: Rhaegal is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and just had a dental cleaning. He will need monthly flea and heartworm preventatives, like any dog. His grooming needs are minimal with regular baths and nail trims. Other Animals: Rhaegal gets along well with dogs of all sizes and enjoys their company without needing constant interaction. He prefers having his own mealtime space, so he does best eating separately. His easygoing nature makes him a pleasant match for respectful canine companions. He hasn’t been tested with cats, though his temperament suggests he may coexist comfortably. Children: Rhaegal is comfortable with children of all ages. His friendly, social personality makes him a sweet addition to families who enjoy a small dog with a warm, welcoming nature. Ideal Home: Rhaegal would do well in a variety of home types, including apartments or townhomes. He settles nicely in his secure area when left alone and enjoys relaxing until his people return. A home that appreciates his affectionate spirit, his clever little quirks, and his gentle independence will help him thrive. Overall: Rhaegal is a charming, social boy with the heart of a tiny dragon and the sweetness of a devoted companion. He loves people instantly, enjoys canine friends, and brings a joyful, quirky energy to every room he enters. If you’re ready for a snuggly, clever little character who lives up to his legendary name in the best possible way, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to apply. If it seems like a good match, his foster family will be in touch. His adoption donation is $325. ##2821522##

Story
Hi! I'm Caraxes! I'm a 10-year-old Rat Terrier that weighs 13 lbs. My name may sound a bit more combat-ready than I am, but don't let the name fool you—I'm much more interested in snacks, snuggles, and living my best cozy life! After all, every good dragon rider needs a loyal companion, right? Favorite Things: This little guy is a FOODIE! If you've got yummy snacks, Caraxes will be your new best friend! He's not much of a toy guy, but he's always happy to curl up with his favorite human for some quality snuggle time. His love language? Treats and companionship! Training & Manners: Caraxes is a quiet gentleman with wonderful manners who enjoys napping in his bed and sharing his space with other dogs. He's still gaining confidence with leash walking and working on his housetraining. His foster mom keeps him on a consistent routine, but he may still have accidents, so his adopter should be prepared to continue working with him patiently and consistently. Health and Care: Caraxes is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. He will need monthly heartworm and flea prevention like any other Florida pup. Other Animals: Other dogs are a-okay with Caraxes! He's patient and easygoing, even with pups who aren't quite as well-mannered as he is. He hasn't been introduced to cats, so any feline introductions would need to be slow, careful, and supervised. Children: Caraxes has not interacted with children. Because he is shy and reserved, we believe older children who understand how to be gentle, respectful, and patient would be the best fit. Ideal Home: Caraxes needs a patient and understanding family willing to give him time to build confidence. New situations can be scary for this sensitive little guy, and even going outside can sometimes make him nervous. A securely fenced yard is imperative since he isn't comfortable walking on a leash yet, and his adopter should be committed to helping him continue building confidence and mastering his housetraining. Overall: Caraxes is a sweet, quiet, affectionate little guy looking for a safe place to land. He may be shy at first, but underneath his cautious exterior is a gentle companion who loves snacks, cozy beds, and being near his people. He'll need someone willing to give him time, patience, and plenty of reassurance, but watching him blossom could be incredibly rewarding. He may not be the fearsome dragon his name suggests, but with the right person by his side, Caraxes is ready to discover just how wonderful life can be! If you think Caraxes may be the one, please visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org and submit an adoption application. If it looks like a good fit, his foster family will reach out with more information. Caraxes' adoption donation is $300. ##2821513##
