Story
Hi, I’m Premise, a 3-year-old, 17-lb rat terrier blend. I sometimes wonder if my name should be Peach, though, because everyone keeps telling me that I'm "a real peach"! General Behavior:  Premise is a very playful pooch who is not shy. After a long day of playing, she likes to hang out with the family and will usually hop up on the couch to watch TV. She’s a really good dog, who really appreciates a real home and love! Likes & Dislikes: Premise loves to play with toys but her real passion is stealing shoes and clothes. She doesn’t chew things up and destroy them, she just likes to drag them out into the living room. She also loves food! She’s a fast eater and once she finishes her bowl she’ll try to take someone else’s. She adores treats too and the occasional collagen chew, too. Training: Premise has the makings of a little lady!  For housetraining, if you take her out immediately when she wakes up, after meals, and as soon as you get home, and you take her out often, she manages. Other than that she walks well on a leash, loves going on car rides, sleeps in the people bed at night, and generally has good basic manners.  Medical: Premise is a healthy girl! She just needs her monthly flea and heartworm preventatives at the moment. Other Animals: Premise currently lives in a home with other dogs and gets along well with everyone. She also gets along with cats and even chickens! Children: Premise does well with children and would be OK in a home with kind, gentle, older children (ages 8+). Home: Premise would do well in a house, townhouse, or condo/apartment, as long as someone is home more often than not to give her frequent bathroom breaks. She does like to be outside but she’d be okay with using walks for her daily dose of sunshine. Grooming: As a short-haired gal, Premise should not need to much elaborate grooming. Overall:  Premise will make a wonderful, loyal, affectionate friend for an experienced dog owner who has time and patience to work with her.   Do you think Premise is practically perfect? Then visit our website www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org where you will find the application to adopt. You’ll be put in contact with the foster family for more information if it’s a potential match. Premise is up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption donation is $400. ##2226252##

Story
Shy has been a foster at our doggy daycare, from county animal control, since July 2022. She scared of humans and is very slow to warm up, this is why we have not actively advertised her for adoption. She absolutely loves other dogs and loves to play. We would not suggest cats due to her predatorial instincts to hunt small prey, she could be enticed to chase. Although she has never shown signs of aggression, we dont recommend small children due to her being frightened. She is trained either in or out of a crate. She can have accidents and/or chew foreign items if left for long periods. Shes spayed and UTD on vaccines. No known medical issues. She would do best in a calmer setting with someone thats willing to take it slow with her. She is a lover but is timid.

Story
Meet Cliff, a sweet, high-energy, 14-pound bundle of fun! At just about a year old, this little guy is listed as a Rat Terrier, but with his playful nature and boundless energy, we wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some Jack Russell or Boston Terrier mixed in too. If you’re looking for a dog who can entertain himself, Cliff is your guy! He spends his days chasing tennis balls, playing with invisible air creatures only he can see, and throwing toys to himself. He loves quick "hug check-ins" to remind you how much he adores you, before getting right back to his very important playtime. When it's time to wind down, Cliff will gladly dance for treats (which he loves). Surprisingly, he walks pretty well on a leash, and with regular exercise and play, he’ll be the best little companion. While he enjoys the company of people, he probably doesn’t need another pup - just the right toys and an active human to match his energy. Cliff is still completing his vetting and will be available soon! If you’re looking for a charismatic, playful, and treat-loving best friend, Cliff is ready to steal your heart.  He doesn't love young children, but he does fine wiht older kids. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $350 and you can adopt me at www.polkadogz.org. ##2314876##
