Story
Loyal. Attentive. Devoted. Cheddar is an extremely well behaved, low key gentleman who gives his whole heart to his person. It took him some time to get over the death of his former owner and his separation from the other ten dogs in that home. But he is stoic and resilient, and has adapted well to foster care. At approximately 7 years-old, Cheddar has mastered the art of being a great doggie companion, including very reliable house-training, walking nicely on leash, riding calmly in the car, and having great house manners--whether you're at home or not. He does still instinctively pull back from unfamiliar hands reaching toward him, but he is willing to approach strangers who ignore him and give him the opportunity to decide when he is ready to accept neck rubs and butt scratches.   Cheddar weighs 16 lbs. and is a sturdy companion to other dogs who are similarly mellow, accepting them easily. He is tolerant of his very active foster brother-- not particularly appreciating his high-strung ways, but willing to live and let live. Napping on the couch or in a shady spot in the yard (or a sunny spot on the deck when temps are cool) are favorite activities. He will also occasionally entertain himself with toy, particularly soft squeakies, but prefers this as a private activity rather than one shared with humans or other dogs. You can see the potential that this handsome dude has when you look at the photos and videos in his online photo album at   http://www.ImageEvent.com/beales/fosters/cheddar  If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Cranberry is a happy, friendly 2-year-old rat terrier mix with a huge zest for life. She eagerly greets each day ready for plenty of active play. She loves catching thrown balls (and bringing them back!), engaging in games of tug, zooming around the yard (particularly if another dog will play chase with her), and going for leashed walks. Since she is athletic, agile, coordinated, and fast, with excellent recall, we think she'd probably excel in canine sports. But her gusto is balanced with a gentle, mild-mannered nature and a love for snuggling with her person and calmly chewing her toys or napping on the sofa. She weighs a sturdy 29 lbs., so she could potentially be a bit overwhelming for smaller dogs willing to wrestle with her, but she is respectful and deferential to other dogs, letting them call the shots. She does very much enjoy the company of other canines (and cats) but it's people who really light up her eyes and warm her heart. She greets strangers like old friends and treats her trusted people like they're the greatest thing in the world.    Cranberry is reliably house-trained with nice house manners--although she is still working on not jumping up on people in excitement and kissing their faces without permission. She is seeking adoption by an active household with a fenced yard (required) and a routine that gives her plenty of opportunity for exercise, mental stimulation, and physical affection. If your lifestyle matches Berry's, please check out her photo album at  https://imageevent.com/beales/fosters/cranberry   to see lots more photos and some videos of this darling gal. Story
Hi, I'm Lucky, a 5 year old, 13 lb., very sweet and loving lobby dog at the shelter. A few of my favorite things are other dogs and even cats. I'm a fun, active, "up for anything" guy that can't wait to find my forever home. Lucky would do best in a home with another dog, having come from a home with several other dogs. He's housebroken, loves adventures and can't wait to meet you. A home with a high fenced yard is needed for this active, inquisitive pup.To adopt this pet, please go to hsnwga.org, 'Adoption' then 'Application for Adoption', to complete an online application to be preapproved. Due to the high volume of applications received, our Adoption Coordinator will only contact the applicant that best meets the needs of the pet.
