Story
Handsome Wyatt is the quintessential rat terrier: super smart, playful, athletic, affectionate, and snuggly! He loves to play fetch and run full speed, catching the ball in the air and then teasing you by bringing it back but turning his head away at the last moment. If you're too tired to play ball, he will happily take you for a leashed walk instead. Or, if riding in the car is your thing, he is definitely always up for that, too. In fact, when you ask him if he wants to "go bye bye," he will leap into the air in excitement at the prospect of a new adventure. He is a marvelous jumper and if you hold out a toy, he will jump up to get it no matter how high your hand is. Despite his natural athleticism and love of the outdoors, this 6 year-old fella is just as happy being a couch potato, lounging in your lap appealing for belly rubs and giving kisses. In fact, giving kisses on command is just one of the tricks in his repertoire. He also will (usually) come when called, dance/spin, go to (get in) crate, and give high fives. He would be very easy to train to do other tricks you might enjoy. At 15 lbs., he is at a perfect weight and he is very healthy. He does have some anxiety, which used to cause occasional nervous piddling, but he has been on medication for the anxiety and that has largely resolved the problem. Other than this issue, Mr. Wyatt is very reliably house-trained. When he is not feeling anxious, he is a happy guy who loves people, and he warms up pretty quickly to strangers, winning everyone over with his personable, outgoing nature. He is good with kids, other dogs, and even cats. He enjoys chasing and playfully wrestling with the other dogs he lives with but he would likely also do well as an only dog so that he wouldn't have to compete for his people's attention. He would be well suited for an active family that shared his love for outdoor activities like hiking, trail rides, running, being in the woods, and time at the park. Check out more photos of sweet Wyatt in his online photo album at http://www.ImageEvent.com/NewRattitude/Wyatt .  If you are interested in adopting this dog, PLEASE READ THE DETAILED ADOPTION PROCESS information on our website at www. Story
Meet Sam Adams, a delightful 5-year-old rat terrier-chihuahua mix weighing in at a perfect 16 lbs. Sam Adams is the epitome of a well-behaved companion, with perfect house training, impeccable house manners, and a gentle, easy-going nature. He is eager to greet new friends, be they human, canine, or feline, and he is friendly and gentle with everyone. While he may be a trifle nervous about new environments and situations, he gets acclimated pretty quickly. A great watchdog, he will burst out barking when someone knocks or rings at the door or he sees someone right outside the window, and while he settles down quickly as soon as he gets a chance to meet the person, he still would not be well suited for an apartment or other home with shared walls. Very people-oriented and food motivated, Sam Adams is highly trainable and already knows verbal commands like Sit, Back, Wait, Crate, and "uh-un!" He is affectionate and snuggly, usually low key and calm, but he will happily engage in playful activities when the mood strikes, like chasing a tennis ball or running around with his favorite dentabone. If you're looking for a dog with a triple-A rating (affectionate, attentive, and adorable!) then Sammy could be just right for you! Please check out more photos of Sam Adams and info about him in his online photo album at  http://www.Imageevent.com/beales/fosters/samadams . Story
Meet Skittles! I saw a post about Skittles needing a place to go. I was so worried Skittles would end up in the wrong hands, since she wasn’t spayed….so Skittles is here! She is a perfect size at 14 pounds. She is a year old, Rat Terrier mix, with the cutest smile! Skittles is now spayed, updated on all shots, microchipped, and heartworm tested negative. This girl is a major lap dog!! lol She loves all people and other dogs. She can be shy at first, but not for long. She loves playing with toys! According to her previous family, Skittles is not a huge fan of cats, but she does pretty good with my 4 here. If they run though, she will chase. Skittles would love to have a fenced in yard to run and play in safely (with supervision of course). Another dog friend to play with would be an added bonus! She is good in the house and is crate trained, but please expect a few accidents during the transition period of course. The adoption fee is $200 Which covers SOME of the cost of spay/neuter, shots, microchip, heartworm test, grooming (if needed), deworming, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and supplies while in our care. The pet MUST be kept on heartworm prevention all of their life. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks (either in person or virtual) for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. If they are still on the page, they are still more than likely still available. Once a pet is adopted from our rescue, they MUST be returned to us, if you cannot keep them. If you plan on not keeping them their whole lives, please do not apply. Thank you for looking at our rescues in need of amazing homes!
