My mother passed away suddenly last April and left her precious companion, Bella. Bella is a sweet little girl who gets very attached to her care-taker! The perfect owner would be someone who is home a lot and will sit with her. She loves to snuggle, take walks, and eat. She does bark out of anxiety when left alone. She does well with pottying if you stick to her routine, but will use a pee pad if you’re gone too long. She is pretty deaf and half blind, I think. She doesn’t like walking on wood floors, unless there’s food involved, then she would walk on hot lava. She loves to go for car rides, and going into stores and riding in carts where she’s allowed. She ignores other dogs and cats unless she’s on her person’s lap, then she’s protective. Because of her age, she has been difficult to re-home and the family just can't care for her anymore.

Meet Oskar. He is a three-ish year old rat terrier. He is rambunctious and full of energy; but loves to snuggle as well. His favorite toys are, you guessed it, the ones that make all the noise. Squeaky is da bomb! He would love to have someone who would take him on walks so he can explore all the amazing things nature has to offer. Running zoomies in the back yard with someone is the bestest time ever! Then some wind down time on his back with a squeaky football or a stuffie that squeaks. He’s been known to fall asleep on his back with his stuffie still in his mouth. He’s a little on the chonky side, but with the right person and plenty of activity he will be in tip-top shape in no time. Although he wouldn’t mind a french fry or two or 10. Oskar would thrive with someone with lots of time and energy to keep him active and engaged. To meet Oskar, fill out an application at waalrescue.org/adopt.
