Story
My mother passed away suddenly last April and left her precious companion, Bella. Bella is a sweet little girl who gets very attached to her care-taker! The perfect owner would be someone who is home a lot and will sit with her. She loves to snuggle, take walks, and eat. She does bark out of anxiety when left alone. She does well with pottying if you stick to her routine, but will use a pee pad if you’re gone too long. She is pretty deaf and half blind, I think. She doesn’t like walking on wood floors, unless there’s food involved, then she would walk on hot lava. She loves to go for car rides, and going into stores and riding in carts where she’s allowed. She ignores other dogs and cats unless she’s on her person’s lap, then she’s protective. Because of her age, she has been difficult to re-home and the family just can't care for her anymore.

Approx. DOB:  10/3/24                Approx Weight: 14.6 Lbs Adoption Fee: $275 includes a 2 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness!                       Hershey is full grown at 14pds! Hershey was released to rescue by the owner who said he didn't want him but gave no reason why. We have found this small guy to be really sweet and loving. He isn't the type of fella that likes being held very long. Probably due to his young, active personality. Hershey loves being petted and sitting on your lap. Hershey loves meeting new people and can come off as being shy. It doesn't last long because he wants all the loving he can get. He has been great meeting new dogs. Hershey is submissive at first until he knows the dog is friendly. We have taken him on a few walks and he seems to enjoy them. He wears a harness and it will go home with him when adopted. We also send him to his new home with a collar and leash.  He has done really well being crated. We have been working on the marking by having him wear a belly band that deters this. He seems to be really smart and he is eager to please his humans. We will send one home with him when he is adopted. He will also go home with a collar and leash.  Hershey loves his toys. So far none have been destroyed. We can cat test him if needed. Hershey is going to make some lucky family happy when they adopt him. Give this little guy a chance and fill out the application. Our small dogs tend to get adopted quickly.  I have been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested negative, wormed and microchipped.  If you are interested in adopting me, please complete the adoption application located at www.furrykidsrefuge.org/adoptadog and a dedicated volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.
