Matilda...😢 Poor girl has a sad story. She was a stray for an unknown time. No one could catch her, so she just was left to her own means. We believe she was on her own for months on end, basically growing up in the wilderness. She was finally caught by animal control. It was quickly apparent that she was an extremely shut down dog, just a baby around 9 months old. We have had her in the rescue for several months now. She has made little improvement. Shes rather damaged to the point of feral. 🙏🏻 We are looking for that MIRACLE for her, we know they exist. We believe she could learn how to be a dog in the right setting. When alone, you can often catch her playing with toys and romping around. She is just so fearful of humans. LOCAL ADOPTION ONLY. Peabody is a 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix (we think). He was pulled into our rescue from an over-crowded, rural, KY shelter because he was not tolerating the environment well and was shut down. He was terrified when first arriving at his fosters home. It took time…but not much. We have video evidence that he is a Velcro mix. He likes dogs about his size, but gets passive-aggressive with bigger dogs. Meaning he runs his mouth. He would have no problem with another, playful dog or being the one-and-only. He likes to watch TV on the couch, beside you, with his eyes closed. He will be the big spoon every night and knows how to fit perfectly into the small of your back. Peabody will likely need the expected 3 days to decompress in a new environment. But once he has stopped fretting, he’ll be melting like butter in your lap. We think Peabody needs to find that doesn’t require transport, so applications must be local to TN. I need to be adopted in Crossville, Tennessee. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Meet Mable! ❤️ Mable is a sweet senior girl searching for a loving home to spend her golden years. While she may have a little gray on her face, don’t let her age fool you—this lady still has plenty of pep in her step and enjoys being part of the action! Mable is both house-trained and crate-trained, making her an easy addition to the family. She gets along well with other dogs and has been a wonderful houseguest. She hasn’t been officially cat tested, but based on her gentle personality, we think she’d likely do just fine with a slow introduction. She’s also good with kids, though because her eyesight isn’t what it used to be, little fingers can sometimes look suspiciously like treats! Older children or supervised interactions with younger ones are recommended to keep everyone safe. After everything she’s been through, Mable deserves a soft bed, a full belly, and a family to remind her every day just how loved she is. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Mable is ready to fill your home with love, snuggles, and the sweetest little old-lady charm. *breeds are anyone’s guess but we love here all the same.
