Story
Pluto is a happy, 1-year-old neutered Rat Terrier weighing about 35 lbs. He’s a friendly, social young dog with a sweet heart and endless love to give. He adores other dogs, loves to play, and is wonderful with kids. While his experience with cats is unknown, Pluto has never shown aggression and tends to approach new situations with playful curiosity. Pluto is an active boy who enjoys walks, playtime, and exploring the world around him. He thrives with a predictable routine and regular companionship, and he’s kennel trained and comfortable in his crate when needed. He’s generally quiet, with only occasional barking, and he’s incredibly affectionate — the kind of dog who loves being close to his people. Pluto would shine in a home that can offer consistency, patience, and engagement. He’s eager to bond and will reward you with loyalty and joy. He would be a perfect match for an active household looking for a playful, loving companion.

Story
Rocky is one of a litter of 6 pups surrendered by their owners. His mom is a rat terrier mix of some sort and dad is unknown. Some of the pups have a rat terrier look, some have curly tails and tiny ears with shorter noses but we do not know what they are mixed with. Remember Heinz 57? That is our little boy Rocky! He looks like a mix of 57 little breeds all rolled into one! Cute as they come! Mom lives in a barn outside on a farm and she is going to be spayed. All of the pups are very playful and ready for any adventure you have in mind. They were a bit shy at first but now loves attention and love to be in your lap. They are all pretty small, about 8 lbs. so lap sitting is a breeze! Cute small breed mixed pups that can fit in just about any home. Their vet care has been updated including their spay/neuter and vaccines. adoption fee: 250 please contact us directly at: ohiosdrescue@gmail.com

Story
"You wanna live with a Cinnamon Girl, you can be happy for the rest of her life with a Cinnamon Girl"! Inspired by the classic Neil Young song, Arietta is a stunning girl with beautiful cinnamon coloring on a white base and expressive chestnut eyes. At just 1 year-old, she is a vibrant, adventurous soul looking for her furever home. Arietta is the definition of "small, but mighty." Weighing in at only 13 lbs., she is an intelligent, funny, and curious girl who maintains a joyful and puppy-like energy. Whether she is romping through deep snow (no matter how cold it is!) or waiting with barely contained excitement for mealtime, she is always ready for action. Arietta has the cutest prance and moves about the house and yard with a happy facial expression. Darling! She is remarkably athletic and fearless, sometimes running through the house with reckless abandon. She is adept at climbing and jumping and isn't yet leash-trained because of winter weather obstacles, so a very secure backyard fence and gate are a must! She has a fierce prey drive, if it moves, she wants to chase it! Because of this, she cannot live with small companion animals (including cats). Likely an outside dog in her past life, Arietta recently has made huge strides in house-training. While she is finally getting the "knack of it", she still requires a regular schedule of potty breaks to ensure her continued success.  She is an excellent, alert watch dog, but is not a nuisance barker. She will let you know when someone or something is there, then settles down quickly. Arietta is a social butterfly in the canine group, for sure. She bonded with her foster sisters almost immediately and sleeps and plays with her "rattie" roommates. She would be happiest in a home with at least one other doggie companion, no matter how large or small, and someone who is home most of the day. Arietta is a "paws on the ground" kind of girl. She is hand-shy and does not like to be picked up and held. While she has recently started trusting her foster parent to pick her up, it takes time and a gentle touch and coaxing to earn that privilege. Because of her handling preferences, she is best suited for a home with adults and respectful older children who understand she is not a "lap dog" to carry around. She does enjoy sitting by your side on the couch or chair or sleeping next to you under the covers. She will jump up on her own into the chair or onto the bed. Arietta does well in a crate overnight, but much prefers sleeping with her doggie and human friends. Arietta is ready for her next chapter. If you are looking for an adventurous, loving companion, you could be happy for the rest of her life with a "Cinnamon Girl"! Story
Meet Bluey! This energetic boy is looking for a perfect fit for his needs! Bluey is sweet, affectionate, and very playful, but he needs a lot of training. He can be a bit much for some families and will need a home without children under 17, no other dogs, and preferably without cats to keep him happy. Bluey can become overwhelmed in some situations and will need an adopter who can help him learn to use his manners in those moments. Once he is adjusted into his new home he will show off his smarts and his perfect balance of play, cuddles, and keeping himself occupied. Bluey`s home will need to be just right for him, inquire about him and see if you are the right match!Bluey is currently living in one of our wonderful foster homes. Adopting from foster is easy! Please email adoptions@hshv.org or call (734)662-5585 to arrange a meeting today!
