Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Senior alert!  Chalupa is a Senior rat terrier that was rescued from a shelter in Baton Rouge.  He is roughly about 11 years old and 20 pounds.   Chalupa is a laid back soul that loves being in a home instead of a scary shelter.  He is set in his ways and does not want a busy home.  Chalupa needs a bit of time to adjust in a new home so owner experience would be best.  He needs to get to know you and trust you.  He is most happy in a little bed and if the weather is cold, a floor heater is his best friend!  Chalupa is not a highly active dog, he is more of a couch potato.  Chalupa appears to be housetrained and is always keen to go outside.  He will often go to the door to let you know he would like to go outside. He has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and loves to wander in it when we are outside.  He walks nicely on a leash too and is eager to go for walks.  Chalupa is fine with other dogs, he does not want to play or wrestle but will sleep with them and just hang out in the house.  For some reason the other dogs in his foster home always wants to play with him.  Sometimes he will, sometimes he won't.  When they get rowdy, he will bark at them.  Chalupa should be in a kid free home but if they come to visit, he will be fine if left alone or crated.  Chalupa is looking for a quiet retirement home to spend his golden years in.  He will be great as a companion for someone that would like a little buddy to hang out with, go on an occasional walk or car ride with.     Chalupa is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also been given a dental.  His adoption fee is $150  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 2:27 pm

Story
Memphis is currently being fostered in TEXAS. Memphis is approximately one and a half to two years old and 15 pounds. She was rescued from our local Atascosa Shelter. Memphis is just a fantastic dog. She walks wonderfully on leash, she has pretty good potty manners, listens well, loves everyone and is super social, adores attention, and is just so happy to be a part of the day. She does have a bit of energy and she does like to bark at the cats and squirrels. We believe Memphis is a rat terrier mix although I do not think she would actually hurt the cats or small rodents. It is probably best she is in a home without cats or small rodent animals such as mice or bunnies, as I cannot 100% guarantee that she would not try to chase them. Memphis has been with all of the dogs and she loves to play and meet new friends. She is great with kids but does like to jump up on you for attention, we are working on this. Therefore, young toddlers just learning to be steady on their feet may not be the best idea unless you can be devoted to some training time. All in all Memphis is an awesome dog and she really is a social butterfly. She will bark at strangers but as soon as that strangers gives her an ounce of attention they are bffs. Memphis is a bit of an attention seeker. She is confident and always the life of the party. Memphis is going to be an absolutely fantastic dog for someone that likes to get out and go for walks or is active, or wants to take their dogs to events such as coffee, shops, lunches, or farmers markets. Memphis is a good cuddler and also has her downtime and enjoys being with her humans even if it’s just sitting on the couch however she does have some energy and will need a yard or to be taken for several walks a day, she is not a couch potato Approved adopters please send your hold requests to the email you were given.
