Once a stray, he now enjoys all the comforts of being an adored pup in his foster home. He likes to be close to people, would be great as a travel dog or ride along friend. Queso would enjoy a dog friend to be cuddle and play friends with, but its not required. He would do well with a family or single person - with or without children who are over 8 and respectful/understanding of a nervous small dog who can 'get under your feet'.Queso is very food motivated and will go so far as to drink your morning coffee if you leave it unattended. He is building his confidence and will seek out affection and has been learning 'how to dog' from his furry foster friends. He has learned a lot in his foster home and we believe he will successfully adjust in almost any environment with a little patience... and lots of blankets!Foster UpdateQueso is gaining confidence and has warmed up to strangers quickly and loves other dogs. Story
Katrina (Kat) | 4 years old | 35 lbs | Very sweet | GTA Katrina is sweet as pie and easy like Sunday morning. She's gentle and loving, low to medium energy, housetrained, and shows no signs of separation anxiety or resource guarding. She lived in a home with many cats and dogs, so she is generally quite chill around other animals, though she prefers the company of calm animals who won't get in her face. She'd be happy as the only dog in the home or with a compatible, calm cat or dog. She has a low prey drive . Katrina loves to go for walks, do zoomies in the backyard and get scratched around her ears and neck. She's an expert cuddler but also happy to just chill nearby. She's a very easy dog to have around, and has a very balanced and calm temperament. Katrina would fit in so easily with a loving new family. She catches onto routines quickly, loves to tuck in for a sleep on her dog bed, and enjoys walks and outdoor times. She's a quiet gal so who is best suited to an adult home, or home that includes older children. If you can offer Kat soft places to rest, chill walks, lots of scritches and snugs, and a home and family to call her own, then please apply at the link: https://form.jotform.com/pawsacrossthewater/adoption-application

Story
Frankie (a.k.a Freckles or Frank) arrived in Canada from St. Lucia about a year ago and has been adored from day one! He’s a gentle, cheerful, playful little guy who loves kisses, cuddles and people with his whole heart. Frankie is a sensitive boy who loves having his person all to himself and enjoys being the main character in the household. He is currently living his best life in a foster home where he has quickly learned new tricks and commands. He is an all-terrain, all weather, booty trained dog who loves the outdoors, hiking or going on long walks. But he also likes his downtimes and snoozes when his person is in a meeting. He is friendly with guests after giving them an initial enthusiastic welcome. One friendly sniff and your guest will become his best friend. Give him a treat and you can make him do anything! Now Frankie’s looking for his forever family, where - as an only dog - he can get all the pampering that this beautiful boy truly deserves! This unique boy has a rare but very manageable immune-related skin condition (ischaemic dermatopathy). It’s not contagious and is easily controlled with regular medication, supplements, sun protection, and a fish-based diet to stay healthy. Flare-ups can happen with intense sun exposure, stress, or vaccinations. Frankie just needs a loving, active and caring family committed to his ongoing care and regular vet check-ups. If you want a loyal and goofy little shadow who’ll love you endlessly, Frankie is your perfect match! Frankie’s adoption fee is being waived—we really want this sweet boy to find the loving home he deserves. 🏡🐶
